  • Thanks and yes I'm set at sedentary. I also pay attention to fitbit's diet plan that changes based on my calorie expenditure and I'm always under. But I'll give weighing a try as well. And try to drink more water. I appreciate your responses.
  • On any given day, I've done about 25 mins of insanity (200 calories burned underestimating), I run a 9 min mile and i usually run a couple miles and walk at start and end (300 underestimating) and 30 mins with moderate to vigorous effort on a stationary bike (250 to 300). On light days I don't do insanity or if I'm lifting…
  • Nope, if anything i probably consume too much fiber
  • Goal weight? It was 150 but honestly I only care about the bf%, so the inch gained on my waist is what really troubled me.
  • Insightful, do tell more
  • I will try that and try cutting overall. Just seems a bit odd I've never had this problem before
  • When you eat prepackaged frozen salmon or a can of tuna it's about the same every time.. If it's off by an ounce every night it still shouldn't make me gain. There's not much of a calorie difference between 4 oz or 5 oz of salmon. I rarely ever eat rice or pasta, I could see weighing that. But I've never weighed anything…
  • I appreciate everyone's responses btw. Will try and cut more, drink more water, see what happens. Thanks
  • Why now and not at any other time during the time I've lost 200 lbs? I've had plateaus but not crazy gains. I'm consistent with everything I do.
  • Most nutrition facts are determined by volume. 1 tbsp peanut butter, 3/4 cup cereal, etc
  • Let's say all of you are right. I'm over eating. At a calculated 1200 net calories I'd have to be not counting an additional 1800 calories to account for 1 lb gained in a week. I've gone up 7 in 3 weeks. No way is that from miscalculation. My bmr is 1700 and I don't lie in bed all day so on average I burn 2500 per day with…
  • I don't eat much that requires weighing. Most of what I eat are vegetables or foods that get measured by cup or tbsp. I don't eat chicken beef or pork. I eat fish which I can eyeball 4 oz or beans which I measure by cup
  • Honestly I can't even get through all 40 or so minutes of insanity without burning out so I haven't really been doing the program according to the calendar, but I've been able to do more and doing it faster and once I can actually get through one video I'll do it 6 days a week like it suggests. I get sore but not…
  • I'm pretty good at measuring what I eat. I've been doing this for 4 years lol. I eat around 1700 to 2100 while burning around 600 to 900. My net calories are always around 1200 or so. I have a heart rate monitor that I use and I always write down less than what it says to underestimate bc they tend to overestimate. But…
  • Thanks again for you response. I think you're right about too much cardio. I'm also interested in thyroid work done. Some good news and to be honest I don't know why or how, but I'm finally under that 204 number that I've been stuck to. Weighed today and was 202. Let me knock on some wood!
  • Thanks for your reply. I ate anywhere between 1900-2300 for about 2 months, had gained the 13 lbs and made a small cut in intake as suggested and i ended up staying the same. But I guess i didn't stick with it long enough, those extra 13 lbs were really uncomfortable, made my jeans a tighter fit, shirts more snug, etc.…
  • i tried that, gained 13 pounds, and lost 13 pounds, now back to square one.
  • quite possibly i am not burning as much while sedentary as these calculators, etc suggest
  • thanks for your repsonse. I think my metabolism is depressed or something, perhaps that's a myth too. But the advice here said I would gain at maintenance because i had been "undereating" and i did eventually level off where i didn't gain, but once i made cuts i still didn't lose. I didn't lose the added weight until i…
  • BUMP: So it's been 3 months. I followed the advice here, upped my calories to maintain. I ended up gaining 13lbs (from 204-217). I didn't waver. I stuck with it and my weight leveled off at 217. So then i cut about 3-400 calories to start losing again. Nothing. Weeks and weeks...nothing! So instead of being stuck at 204 I…
  • Thank you so much for the kind words
  • Thanks for the reply. I am about 28mm around the waist. I have not done my back or arm, but I think I am around 32%. 150 is just the mid range for my height and that's why I chose that as my goal, but I am confident if I can lose mostly fat, I can reach 150. The number isn't the most important thing to me anyway, it's the…
  • Thanks so much for your responses. To answer your questions, yes I measure everything and log everything. My calorie burns are close to accurate, they come from the recumbent bike and treadmill I use. I realize these numbers are estimates though. I will try your suggestions and eat back up to 1900 calories. I'll probably…
