Great job so far! Keep it up... you're headed in the right direction :-)

Yeah, but why does mom insist on buying them if no one else in the house eats them? That just seems passive aggressive (or plain mean) to me. You could also just throw them away if no one else is going to eat them. Or take them to work / school, etc and give them away. Maybe that would make your point more clearly. Good…

I can't see the pics (stupid work computer), but I love the story! Amazing job :-)

You're a little crazy, but aren't we all? Swelling is bad. Back off. But that doesn't mean you have to stop completely. If you feel you need to exercise, try getting in the pool (you don't have to swim, you can just walk), or riding the stationary bike at a MODERATE pace and resistance (don't push into pain). Both of these…

I'm guessing you didn't actually mean that a 2 minute drive was inconvenient? I think $100 for the class is reasonable, for sure. The other $100 would only be worth it to me if I was going to use the gym to train between the boot camp classes... which you'd need to do to make actual gains. Or do some other type of…

My first (and only so far) bike: http://img1.findthebest.com/sites/default/files/778/media/images/2010_Buell_Lightning_XB12Scg_Motorcycle.jpg Get a 1200. You'll grow out of a 650 in a year.

Well, I like your sense of humor, so look for my ad... hoping I'm "hot" enough ;-)

I track added sugar, not natural sugars. Of course, I have to actually do math to do this b/c MFP doesn't get that technical, but it's not that hard. Here's a good page from the American Heart Association that breaks it down. For most women, they recommend that you limit added sugar intake to 6 teaspoons (about 100…

Just make yourself get on the elliptical for 5-6 minutes. If you want to get off after that, do it... but I bet you'll keep going. Baby steps are still steps, after all! The eating is hard, I know how you feel because I tend to do the same thing. One thing that helps for me is to jot down my meals for the day on a post it…

Awesome job! Love the Smithwick's shirt, btw :-)

Do they have a reason for not responding once they get back in touch? I'm assuming that you're trying to keep up your end of the communication and they don't respond back to multiple texts, calls, etc?\ Long distance friendships are hard. I have several, but I don't count on them for much of my day-to-day emotional well…

I know how much that hurts, and I'm so sorry for your loss.

Never trust your recruiter. Sorry, but it's a sad reality. Loose the weight healthily, and get STRONG because you're going to need it. Yes, you'll lose weight in basic, but there are also a TON of soldiers who get hurt in basic because they came in fat and out of shape. It's a good way to end your career before it ever…

Fruitcake? Cheese log?

Wow! You look awesome! Way to go :-) I couldn't even tell which person you were in the first pic!

I don't.

Pay off debt, pay off my mom's house, buy myself a truck, hire a maid, cut back to working part time. Give myself a reasonable monthly allowance and sock the rest away with my financial advisor so I don't go "lotty crazy" and lose it all.
-
Wow!! Great job! You can tell that you've been working hard :-) Keep it up!

Fantastic job!! Way to use a negative experience to motivate yourself in a positive direction :-)

Wow... that's some serious sinus trouble, if that's all that it is. I've had sinus issues for my entire life, but I've never had symptoms that bad. Not to say I don't believe you, but you've been misdiagnosed once and as far as I can tell you're self-diagnosing re: the sinuses. Maybe you should have someone else take a…

Congrats on not letting a bad day derail you. That is one of my biggest struggles, personally. Good luck and, as you say, persevere!

Howdy all... sounds like everyone is doing well! My NSV's for the day: -- completed my log and felt good about everything in it. -- didn't eat chocolate at work at all (this is huge for me) -- left the house at 6am, didn't get home until 8:30pm, but still made myself workout -- and finally, I did NOT celebrate any of the…

Awesome job! I'm glad you've found motivation here. Great progress so far :-)

WOW!!! Fantastic job! Inspires me to get my waist (or at least part of it) back by Christmas!!!

In addition to the advice re: honest measurements and getting a HRM, this is true too. Your muscles will retain some water in order to repair themselves after any workout. As you get more regular with your exercise, you won't see this difference on the scale b/c it's part of your routine. BUT... it's multi-variate, so…
