I've been to physical therapy twice for my knee & I've been to a podiatrist for my feet. I've never had a gait analysis, so that sounds like a good idea. Thanks for the tip =)

A lot of the initial weight loss in week 1 is water, so that accounts for the high number. You do lose fat to though, don't get me wrong. It is then super common for week 2 to be much lower, if not 0. Don't get discouraged & keep going!

I just finished! So happy with it. Push through it, you'll feel so accomplished when you're done!

I completely agree! I feel like crap when I eat junk food, but for some reason, I still give in sometimes and eat it!

I absolutely LOVE home workout videos! Anything by Jillian Michaels is amazing. You can get a really great combination of cardio and toning in minimal space and for pretty cheap (compared to a lot of exercise equipment). You will probably feel a little silly at first, but then you'll find how fun it actually is to go…

I'm not skinny fat, I'm actually pretty muscular. I work out about 2 hours a day 6 or 7 days a week.

Its a proven fact that if you stop eating junk food, you will stop craving junk food. I used to pop M&Ms like crack. I would crave them so bad every night! Ice cream as well! But I decided the only way to go off them was cold turkey. It took only about a week of not having them to stop craving them almost entirely. It was…

If you want to look at natural nutritional methods, eating organic is the best thing you can do. Since the endo causes enough hormone issues already, it doesn't help to have all those added hormones and artificial chemicals being put into your body.

As far as the sleeping goes, I have the opposite problem. Because of the pain and a lot of things that go with the pain (tension, nightmares, headaches, etc...) I get maybe 2-4 hours/night. 6 on a good night. I'm absolutely exhausted. How do you manage to get so much sleep?

7-9 hours is optimum. And yes, sleep does affect weight loss. If you don't get enough sleep, your body compensates for the energy loss by telling you to eat more. This is physiologically proven by the higher levels of ghrelin (the "hunger hormone") in people who sleep less. You're body says "I don't have enough energy" and…

The best way to lose weight is to combine a healthy eating plan with some exercise. Since you say you only started walking recently, I assume you're not following a set "workout". I suggest adding a half hour to an hour of moderate to vigorous exercise to your day in addition to continuing your healthy diet. Try running,…

You remember better if you actually write it down with pen and paper.

The number one thing about thyroid meds is always be consistent on the time you take it. I always take mine at 6:30 in the morning because you should take it about an hour before you eat, 2 hours before you have any calcium. Even if I can sleep in that day, I set my alarm for 6:30, get up and take my meds, and then go back…

Yoga is great for improving what's called "functional fitness". It gives you better balance, flexibility, core strength, and overall body strength. It is also great for relaxation and stress relief. Even if meditation isn't your thing, just the act and process of yoga are great for your mind. I highly recommend it.

I am 5'9" and that is my exact goal weight! I am currently 132, so almost there!

December 1st: 132 pounds (60 kg)

The reason you can eat 900 calories a day and have no weight change is because your metabolism has slowed down. You're body has freaked out because it isn't getting the energy and nutrients it needs (hence the fatigue) and has adjusted as best it can to try and keep you alive. Slowly work your way up to 1600, maybe upping…

There is a group based on this goal if you want to join!

I'll friend you! I'm new to MFP and am simply trying to lose a couple of pounds instead of losing the freshman 15!

Grrr! I keep leaving stuff out! Height: 5'9" Current Weight: 135 Goal Weight: I don't know! I know I'm at a healthy weight, but I really want to lose 10 pounds. Body image is just a struggle of mine and is what my main focus is on. I just want to learn to love my body.

Oh yeah, and I'm a freshman exercise physiology major at Pittsburg State University (Kansas, not Pennsylvania) with a psychology minor.

A couple of people here have mentioned a "tens machine". What is a tens machine? I've only ever relied on high dose ibuprofen and heating pads. I'm eager to look for anything else out there that works!
