  • I'm going on a run today instead of 30DS! (I'm doing it a bit different based on my past experiences and some injuries). But still considering this my "Day 2." Had a death in the family today unfortunately and will be out of town tomorrow through Monday so I may be running instead of shredding for a while until I'm back…
  • Hi all! Glad to see so many people similar to me! I'm 24 and grad school has definitely "helped" me put on a lot of weight. I'm at 150 lbs at 5'3" and my goal is to get to 125 by the time I turn 25 (in February). I was about 110 when I started undergrad and around 130 when I graduated at 21, so this is not a pattern I want…
  • Weight: 150.2 Waist: 32" That's all I'm keeping track of for now. :) Glad to have found the group!
  • I'd like to! I'm on vacation for a week in January and don't plan to do it then but I'd still like some motivation even if I am behind everyone else. I did Day 1 earlier today. I did 30DS (tried to) before twice and both times stopped around day 15. I do think I saw results even just doing it halfway. Oddly the first place…
  • I think I'm officially ending the shred as a program, though I still plan on doing the dvd once in a while! I'm not really liking doing the same workout 10x consecutively and might start going L1/L2/L3 alternating. Regardless - as of today I've lost about 3lbs and did see results (15 days in). Still a fan of Jillian, but…

  • I've managed to do fine on my diet, but I'm trying to be realistic here: after working 10+ hours on my feet, I'm not going to come home at 11pm and do cardio. I want something reasonable and focused on building muscle tone if I'm going to have to really prioritize how I spend those ~20 minutes/day. I might not get my heart…
  • I'm only on D4L2, but mine has stayed down. I am NOT doing it every day anymore - aiming for 4x/week. I'm also doing Yoga Meltdown 3-4x/week (usually on the same day as the shred) and counting calories. No other exercise right now, though my job does require physical activity.
  • Be patient! Make sure you're eating few enough calories to lose weight but enough to not stress your body out. Oddly I hadn't lost any weight with 30DS until I stopped it for a few days. I've read that when you go from being very inactive to suddenly very active and your muscles are under a lot of stress, they hold onto…
  • Starting back up from my break! Day 3 done tonight. Still haven't lost much weight (about 1.5lbs) but my pants are fitting looser and my stomach looks worlds better than it did just 2-3 weeks ago. Very satisfied so far! I can actually almost buckle my belt two holes farther than when I started (2 inches!) and now I'm less…

  • I've had kind of a weird setback. I'm a waitress FT and started a new job a few days ago after a two week break. Yesterday was my first full day back on my feet (about 10 hours) but I have worked 10 hour shifts on my feet, carrying heavy things etc. pretty regularly for over a year. When I got home my legs and feet just…

  • 30DS is a great decision. It is difficult but totally doable for someone who has not been active at all beforehand because there are so many modifications you can work with as your abilities change. I'm doing 30DS daily (halfway through) and do 1.5-2 hours/week of other exercise as well, typically another circuit or more…
  • I prefer working out earlier. I have a lot more stamina early on and usually want to keep going with my workouts when I do them early, compared to barely being able to finish them at all at night. I work a pretty erratic schedule (food service) and if I don't work out BEFORE work, typically I won't work out at all. Plus,…
  • I am excited to see everyone's results! I won't be posting mine (or taking any measurements) until I'm all finished. I am really itching to pull out the tape measure but trying to resist in case small or nonexistent changes discourage me!
  • I'm in the same boat with my shins, weirdly enough. Something with level 2 - I'm modifying some moves quite a bit to make it easier on my body to do them daily. Trying to go easy on the jumping and avoid the things where your knees are bent way past 90 degrees (like squat thrusts!). I'm not sure I buy that the payoff you…

  • Level 2, day 2. Still no weight loss (-.6lbs?) but I really do think I am seeing a difference in my waist and arms, so I am focusing on that! Scales are the worst - uhg.

  • I'm doing it daily. So far, I've had one day off and two days I've doubled up. I'm also doing Yoga Meltdown 2-3x/week. I planned on taking more days off but I feel better when I do circuit training - more energy the entire rest of the day, mostly. More than getting specific results I really want to take the next few months…
  • Just did day 1, and I have to say - I was worried about level 2 after people's comments, but I think I actually found it easier than level 1. It sure went by faster (probably because I was so bored of L1). I am SO far from being able to do the non-modified versions of the plank exercises, though! The squat thrusts - ha. I…

  • Finished level 1 and so glad today is the last day. I've been getting really bored with it and I think I'm starting to prefer Yoga Meltdown (sorry 30DS!) and it's making me dread the shred a little more than before. Today was just one of "those days" too - think it's the gloomy, drippy and cold weather. Tired all day and…

  • Finishing level 1 (day 10) today. Got off track yesterday because SO and I both had the day off and went out. My body felt ROUGH yesterday so I am glad I did! I might do the first day of Level 2 tonight too. I still haven't seen any weight loss. The lowest my scale's read is .6 lb. I am a little upset it is going so slow -…

  • I doubled up yesterday because I had a lot of free time. I did it once in the morning and once at night. I did only use 3lb weights the second time so I wouldn't overdo it too much, as yesterday was one of my Yoga Meltdown days too. It was a little rough on my body, but I want to see fast results. If I was using heavier…

  • About to do days 8 and 9 - I have lots of time today so I am doubling up! I might throw in another dvd if I have time, too. I'm excited to start level 2. I have only lost .6 lb, hopefully which will change once I'm off TOTM and lose a bit of water. I've been staying below my calorie mark every day but do gravitate toward…

  • Day 7 done! I haven't lot any weight yet, but I think it might be time-of-the-month related so I'm giving it time. I've been under on my calories all week and I really think I am starting to see a bit of difference on my arms and waist. Besides measurements, I FEEL great - so much more energy. I am actually looking forward…

  • I've been doing Yoga Meltdown a few times a week after 30DS and I really enjoy it. It's definitely not a traditional yoga program, but at the end I feel like I've gotten a good workout (though not quite as intense as 30DS) and still get a bit of that awesome yoga-feeling. My back is always stiff and my back feels great…
  • What do you all use to count calories burned? I'd like to get something but I am on a pretty tight budget. And I finished day 5 today. Feeling good! Actually managed to do all the arm exercises through with 5lb weights. I already really feel a difference in my stamina, so I am eager to see how I feel when at day 30.

  • I'm new, but I just finished day 4. I'm trying to take short runs 3-4x/week too...hoping to get healthier and maybe lose 5-10 lbs. Mostly I just want to build muscle and lose a bit of fat. I'm going on vacation in 7 weeks and using that as motivation to get off my butt! I am much less sore today! I alternate weights used -…
