That sounds horrible... like really really not fun.

This! This! Exactly this! I started at 268... I planned to lose 10-12 lbs per month because that was my "plan"... i have lost 70 lbs but it has taken 2.5 years. Not the 7-8 months i had "planned"on. you CAN do it, this forum is full of people who have done it... but it really does take time and patience, patience and…

I like the pure protein bars for snacks

wow, your poor partner... this just made me feel sad for him. ... and ya, you are totally overreacting... Hangry?
-
Time and patience, patience and time. I started this journey in Jan 2013 at 270 lbs... down 70 lbs over 2.5 years... sometimes i gain, sometimes i lose... just keep at it.
-
yep. I gained 15 back of my 70lb weight loss. I just had to start tracking again (had stopped completely) and decide. You can do it.

Welcome. Can you open your food diary (set to public) so that we can offer more specific advice? If you are gaining based on what mfp recommended perhaps your food diary is skewed.
-
feel free to add me... I started with 100+ to lose and am halfway there.

Hello and welcome. I started at 268 lbs... am 201 now, had gone down to 188 and then got really lax with it and am just catching myself now. So, it can be done, but it does take effort. I started this journey in January 2013... it takes time. Sometimes it feels like a lot of time... Try not to get too hung up on good…

I didn't cut things out really... I did make a decision not to drink my calories as much as I had previously tho
-
I weigh and input it into MFP every day.
-
I tend to overeat during my period and am rarely active during those days. I don't think it is too harmful... I usually gain about 5 pounds during period which tend to drop off immediately once period ends.
-
eating an entire pizza sounds like binging behaviour. i would imagine you would feel really ill the next day. Could you have a piece or two and still have the ice cream?

At 250 lbs I was in size 20/22... At 195 I am in a 14... Just started buying new pants tho when I realized how ridiculous I looked wearing pants that were falling down
-
You said you did it before... And now doing it again.... So.... Did it work the first time? Calories in and calories out works and is free

Always gain or hold onto a few pounds over the course of PMS and period. I weigh myself every morning but only record weekly. During period it isn't uncommon for me to have a 3-4 lb fluctuation that quickly resolves afterwards.

I think that with 40 lbs to lose a 1000 calorie deficit is too aggressive.

"Motivation" comes and goes. It is not a great plan to set yourself up for failure by relying on some intrinsic "motivation". I was "motivated" on and off for years. And then in Jan 2013 I found myself lacking "motivation" and weighing in at 268 lbs. So I ditched "motivation" and got "committed". That commitment has seen…

I also don't understand why anyone would want to go on this when you COULD just eat at a slight deficit and invest time and eat what you like. Have been using MFP and down 62 lbs... over 2 years... no quick fix. I am also someone who wants "structured" eating... but I just kind of made my own structure. Why would someone…

62 lbs gone. Started in Jan 2013... has taken just over 2 years.
-
Patience and time. I am down over 60lbs but it has taken over 2 years. Log EVERYTHING. You can do it.
-
When you have a cheat, who are you cheating? And why? It is about lifestyle... Patience and time.
-
I did it. Lost 25 lb but it came back when I stopped... Doing mfp for 2 years and have lost over 60 lbs. I used to enjoy the ww meetings but find the support on mfp as good if not better... And free
-
I started with 100 to lose. Was 268 Jan 2013 and as of today I am 194... 74 lbs gone over 2 years using mfp
-
I have found that using MFP and tracking EVERYTHING based on calories REALLY does work. I had tried everything and I mean everything for 15 years and couldn't lose weight. Last year (Jan 2014) I was 5'3 and 268 lbs. and had spent a LOT of money on books and plans. By doing the easiest, cheapest thing I have lost 72 lbs in…

And what do you do after you lose the weight? How do you maintain it? Is there going to be some magic time added to your day? Or do you take that processed powder forever?
-
Seriously? You don't have time to eat well? Are you really THAT busy that you can't throw some things in a crock pot or put some almonds in a baggie for snacking? Really?
-
14 months.... 72 lbs gone.... sometimes I had big losses (and I had a LOT to lose)... sometimes small... sometimes none..... occasional gains Time and patience. Time and patience. I weigh myself every day, log it and forget about it. If you are tracking EVERYTHING and below your calories for the day it will come off.
-
Hi! and welcome. I started my journey in January 2013... was 268 lbs. Today (14 months later) I have lost 72 lbs. It takes time, and patience. Eventually the "motivation" and "willpower" fade away and sometimes you don't lose quickly. I had weeks where I would lose 3 lbs and then weeks where I would slow down to less than…

I don't really "get" the whole cheating thing.... If you are wanting to track calories why wouldn't you log things? Save recipe in "my recipes" folder and it is easy peasy. I track EVERYTHING. Only way I have been able to lose 60+ pounds.
