I purchased a "little Dipper" from bed Bath & beyond. It is essentially a one serving size, slow cooker. At the time is was only $10. There is no timer, so I use a lamp timer. I measure out 3/4 of a serving of rolled oats and steel cut, a mixture of water and milk, and set the timer for about 2AM start. In the morning I…

Log my food, measure everything, eat healthy 90% of the time, keep within my calorie range, exercise. Simple life changes.

I would put it away, so retirement will be somewhat more comfortable,

The best thing that you can do is keep an accurate log. Most allergies are documented by eliminating groups of foods and then slowly reintroducing them to your diet. If there is a reaction, your logging will tell you most likely what it is. Nausea and vomiting is usually as a result of something in the last 24 hours. If…

^^ This^^ You lift to strengthen your muscles, you do cardio to strengthen your heart. Both are important.

Just to add to the above comments, try to get there a few minutes early on your first class. Ask the instructor to help you set up the bike. I had a retired racer help me set up mine and it made a big difference.

Someone once asked me what was my motivation to consistently workout, my answer was "PAIN. it hurts too much when I stop!" But seriously, do your workout. If the DOMS is severe, go light the next day. Definitely use the muscles, but lightly. I will go for a long walk, or bike ride. Movement is better for your muscles. Try…

Someone once said to me, "It's not what you eat between Christmas and New Year's that's the problem. It's what you eat between New Year's and Christmas!" This sounds like a wonderful trip you have planned. Don't deprive yourself of any of the festivities. But you don't need to eat everything in site. Keep portion control…

I do both. Outdoor running definitely burns more calories, and is more interesting. But on inclement days I do like to run intervals on the treadmill. Its easier to specify speed and timing on the treadmill.

I think you should choose a place to live that gives you the best opportunities for your line of work.

I've had a polar product for over three years. I changed the battery once so far in the watch and the transmitter. I use it 5-6 days a week.

I do both. According to my HRM, I burn more running on the treadmill. My highest burn is running outside, {if the snow ever melts!!} But I like to do both to keep boredom at bay.

I agree with these responses. Take one step at a time, learn to eat healthy, weigh and measure. Find that activity that you like. You will only stick with a routine that you enjoy. Learn how to do it right. Quality over quantity is more important right now.

One of the ingredients in Prep H, is a vasoconstictor, which is what helps in decreasing swelling. If used in large amounts {ie, smearing over the whole abdominal area} it can raise your blood pressure to possibly dangerous levels. Don't mess around with medications on things they were not meant for. The directions are…
