  • 13.5 lbs in 8 weeks is awesome progress! I'll let the experts give you tips, just wanted to say don't get discouraged. You're doing great!
  • Have you tried Hint water? I love the blackberry flavor. No sugar, no calories, not seltzer (which I hate.).
  • A little off-topic, but related to some of the posts that have been made re: raising of animals for meat. Has anyone read The Omnivore's Dilemma by Michael Pollen? http://www.amazon.com/The-Omnivores-Dilemma-Natural-History/dp/1594132054 It made me start thinking about where my food was coming from and has made me put more…
  • I have lost 57 pounds and not an ounce has come off of "The Ladies." I really, really wish they would shrink. (Note I call them Ladies, not Girls.) I am, um, of a more voluptuous build. :) I've lost fat off my back, have no rolls around my bra straps any longer, but alas, the Ladies are as prominant as ever. :( I should…
  • Your profile pics show a beautiful, healthy young woman. You don't need an aid - you are already there. Your goal weight of 100 lbs seems way too low. I do not intend my next statement to be mean or insulting, but IMO, you need help with seeing yourself as the slim, trim young woman you are, not losing more weight. :)
  • Yep. I just stalked yours and am laughing about yesterday's breakfast/dinner combo. :)
  • I think I would characterize myself as an apple, too. :) How you look and feel is much more important than a "number." You go!
  • I don't know for a fact, but I'm guessing this must be the case as I'm the same height as you, 5' 4", weigh 147 and wear a size 12. I know there are many different body types, but for you to weigh 50 lbs more than I do and wear the same size makes me believe that muscle has to play into it. I do exercise every day, but I…
  • Out of curiosity, why do you believe that? For me, weighing everyday keeps me on track and I'm sure there are others that feel the same. I'm an educated adult and understand the daily fluctuations that can, and do, happen. What I take away from it is being able to see how my choices have affected me. Just another piece of…
  • I weigh myself everyday. It's what works for me. To make your diary public, go into settings, diary setting and choose public at the bottom of the page.
  • I don't. I've been eating 1200 calories a day since September and have lost 56 pounds and never felt better. IMPO, exercise calories are often over-estimated and calories eaten are under-estimated so I believe it all evens out. But, you will need to find what works for YOU.
  • 11 lbs to "healthy" BMI, 26 lbs to my ultimate goal weight.
  • Medifast, to me, seems like a Jenny Craig or Nutrisystem type of plan. While I do think that they work, as I've had friends that have used them, my fear is that by allowing an entity to choose all of your food portions/selections for you, you never really "learn" how to eat healthy and make correct choices. But, it could…
  • You look amazing! Great job. Your banner shows you not at goal yet - I'm wondering where the rest will come from! You look perfect to me. :)
  • I've been eating 1200 calories a day since September and have lost 53 lbs. I've got another 29 lbs until my ultimate goal and will stick with the 1200 calories as it's obviously working for me. I've been working out since February, everyday, but definitely not what I'd call hardcore. 40 min per day on my elliptical, walk…
  • Lindt Dark Chocolate Bar with a Touch of Sea Salt. O.M.G!
  • Coney Island. 'nuff said.
  • Really? I've certainly done cheat meals - thinking Thanksgiving, Christmas, my anniversary and birthday, just to name a few and I've lost 50 lbs since September. Since I think we are all losing weight and gaining fitness so that we can enjoy our life, a few cheat meals are part of that enjoyment. IMO it's unrealistic to…
  • I didn't start exercising until this past February. When I started, 15 minutes on my elliptical at the lowest resistance setting left me tired and breathless. Now, only two months later, I can easily do 45 minutes on the HIGHEST resistance setting. :) Baby steps. Just like you didn't put on all of your weight in one day,…
  • Go to dinner and your prom and enjoy! This night is only going to come around once; don't let a silly number govern your life. Tomorrow get back on your weight loss journey. BTW - on a week that I've eaten more than I should or eaten things that I might not should have, I consider a no-gain a victory!
  • MFP really over estimates how many calories you burn, IME. For example, when I log that I've put in 30 mins on my elliptical, MFP says I've burned 350 calories. My elliptical says I've burned 160 and that's with really amping up the intensity. Because of the discrepancies, I don't eat back my exercise calories.
  • I like Diamond. I've had the Silk, and I agree with you, the texture was just a little off. I love the Diamond unsweetened Vanilla and it is only 30 calories for 8 oz.
  • I was actually researching this recently, hoping to find some exercises that might help as I'm one of the "bustier" breed of ladies too. Unfortunately, what I found is that there are no muscles that can be strengthened to help with this issue. :( Some of you (not me, unfortunately) are just genetically blessed in this area…
  • Great job! Off topic, but I can't help but ask. What is that large white thing in the background of your "before" pic. A windmill of some sort?
  • Can you tell me what brand of non-fat dairy milk has 50% calcium? Everything I look at has 30%, which is why I began using Almond milk, which has 45% Calcium. I need the additional calcium. Thanks.
  • I've been eating 1200 calories since September. I'm averaging 7 pounds a month of weight loss. I feel great, don't feel deprived and am thrilled with my progress. It works for me. Should it reach the point that it no longer works, I'll reassess, until then I'll keep doing what I'm doing.
  • I agree with your point of view. :)
  • the problem, I think, is that you are classifying foods as healthy or not. the only truly unhealthy food is one eaten in excess. [/quote] An excellent point, worth repeating. Most of us on here are in this for the long haul and to be successful, IMO, one has to move past the mindset that some foods can never be eaten.…
  • I have a Sole E98 Elliptical. I LOVE it. I had a treadmill and hated it - I found it so boring compared to the elliptical.
  • Everyday that I'm at home. If I'm travelling, I don't weigh as I only weigh myself on the same scale so that I know I'm comparing apples to apples.
