  • Great job ladies! Keep it up :) These are great reminders that being healthy is about so much more than a number on the scale.
  • Shout out to Dorothy Douglass! She is working so diligently! I love that Dorothy understands its about getting healthy, not just a number on the scale. She is always talking about being more mindful, and changing her habits for the long haul - I love it! Keep it up!!
  • Julie, Have you ever thought about having a contest with the girls at your FC? Make a chart and see who can drink the most water by the end of the day or week! What I've found works for me is that I have a 24oz water bottle, I know I need to drink 1 by lunch, another one by dinner, and then I have my last one either during…
  • A shout out to Matt Weaver for keeping me accountable :)
  • I am! It is pretty intense, but they do a great job modifying it to your level. My friend lost 170lbs doing crossfit, so she has inspired me that I can do it too! If you ever want to try it out with me let me know! :)
  • One thing I've found really helpful... When I'm eating out or being tempted by a bad food I make myself look up the calories BEFORE I eat it. It's a really great reality check for myself, and then I can ask myself, is this item really worth this amount of calories? If it is worth it then I can make a concious effort to…
  • Dorothy - how frustrating :( I know you've been working hard at Studio 22! My advice would be to really look at the quality of what you are eating. In high school my trainer told me that more than 80% of what you look like is based on what you eat. I would encourage you to take your food log to Studio 22 and have your…
  • I agree with what Jaime said about calorie goals and snacks. I also try to have a set list of approved snacks to make it easy. Here are my go to items: Breakfast: Protein shake w/ fruit Protein shake (plain) with oatmeal morning snack: energy bites - SUPER easy recipe eggs w/ salsa lunch: in a perfect world I'd bring a…
  • I love this idea! Heather, you really are doing a great job! Thanks for such a fun idea Jaime :)
  • I've used BodyBugg - it works really well - very accurate calorie count. It keeps track of steps taken as well. The 2 biggest downsides of it is that there is a $7 monthly fee to use it, and that it is pretty bulky on your arm (impossible to hide).

  • I just started my 90 day challenge using Body By Vi! I've tried a bunch of different protien mixes: off-brand, EAS, Shakeology, APEX etc. But they either tasted gross, were super expensive, or I didn't see results. Body By Vi is a GREAT shake mix that has a tri-blend of protein that specifically helps with weight loss -…
  • mmm..designer jeans!!
  • Dororthy - that's terrible! Pizza = too many calories! lol
  • One of the big 'little things' that myfitnesspal (MFP) helped me realize was the diet vanilla cokes I used to drink aren't diet!! Whenever I wanted to treat myself (aka: several times per week) I would go get a diet coke with vanilla flavoring. I told myself that since it was diet coke it wasn't bad for me. The first time…
  • I'm super excited for GetFit 2013! I love a challenge & am excited for the next few months. I've always enjoyed working out, but that problem is I enjoy eating too :) I always joke that you can tell if I've had a bad day based on what I'm eating - but it's sad how true that is. I'm really excited to have MFP as part of our…
