Absolutey! Its perfectly okay to start gradually because you have a better chance to succeed. And less risk of injury and better recovery. Way to go so far! :)

Lots of calories and consistency. :) Finding a specific weight gain program and sticking to that until the goal weight is reached will take the stress out of thinking about it.

Hope you are doing better!

Drink some of you calories to make it easy for you as possible. Does not have to be weight gainer. Juice, coffee with sugar cream, soda ensure, milk, sweet tea with and between meals.

Trust the calculations, especially if you are trying to pinpoint maintenance. Science does not lie. Simply change food choices to more satiating options.

You should do whatever makes you happy. Knowledge is power, so I don't understand why you would throw away the scale. But again, sounds like you made some decisions and us peeps are rooting for you!

I am worried that your recovery program does not start until FEB 7. Are you eating enough calories to maintain your current weight? Try to drink ensure plus or boost 2 times a day along w/normal eating until you have a solid program. Your doctor will recommend not exercising because she doesn't want you to burn off all…

I am 5 5'' and under 130 lbs and always lose weight (not my goal) when I eat under 1800 calories (active, but no current program.) There is a group on here called Eat More to Weigh Less. I think it would be worth joining and researching. Food is not worth missing out on.

Sounds like you have your mom's support, it's important to cooperate w/people who love you. Since you want to get healthy, you are in a great mindset! Being healthy is beauty, they go hand in hand. People enjoy being around energetic young ladies. Good luck on reaching your goals and feel free to join the gaining weight…

Welcome to the club! :drinker:

Either way works. I have done both and really prefer eating meals (dense) It's really just making sure you have a surplus of calories before sleep each day.

You are tall so I think 145 is a great goal for you.

I beleive our number one priority is reaching a target weight. And we can work out the details later. It is like building a house. First you build it, and then you decorate and detail it. Of course you should generally eat and drink healthy. Just like you wouldn't want to build with rotten wood. Glad you are making…

My neighbor/friend is a fisherman and always bringing over lobster. I use it in sandwiches chilled with the mayo, a little salt, pepper and onion. Soups and salads are my favorite way to go with seafood.

Hi there. I have been following some of your story because we are both on a weight gain journey. That in itself is a daily struggle for me and I am a young and healthy mom. I can not imagine how hard it must be for you. I am not in the medical field, so I would advise you to follow your doctor's advice and get all the help…

Be willing to change it up. Track everything and when you are not getting results, try something new. It could be a new diet, a new exersize routine, adding water, adding more protien, anything. Sometimes, it's our body adapting to our routine. Also, think of something that has worked for you in the past and do it again.…

Hang in there! It will get better and easier.

Cheer up, You are just eighteen. It could even be a growthspurt! And most of it was healthy like tuna. I wish I craved things like that! :flowerforyou:

I just read something in Parents magazine (for a child w/this problem) and the cure was as simple as one glass of Welch's Grape juice a day. It was reccomended by the pediatrician. Worth a try, she did emphasize Welch's.

I would say either one.

Hi there. I always go back to the old pros and cons. What are the pros and cons in WW system. What are the pros and cons MFP has to offer. Also, can't you do both? Just because they are different doesn't mean you couldn't utilize them both. You have a certain limit of calories on MFP. And on WW you have points. If you meet…

Hi Carmen! I can relate because I have a very addictive personality. If I were you I would set up a support group before moving anywhere new. Addiction is a behavior so if you do positive things like go to meetings, clubs, dances, church ect. It's more likely you will have an easy time staying away from carbs. GL!…

Coffee makes me happy. If there were a sunami, I would still be grabbing for my mug. Although this is a beverage.:drinker: (one or two a day.)

Yay to you for making a change! I have managed to gain 5 lbs since starting this program I think like 6 weeks ago. I just shoot for over 2k a day. I do have bad days here and there, but find it much easier to take emotions out of the equation when I see the #'s I am aiming for each day. Since you are a vegetarian, that is…

Good effort with all that is going on! Yeah I think gaining weight would be normal after losing maybe too much too soon. I think you will start to lose again once your body gets its energy back. GL w/everything!!
