If you are talking regular Mt. Dew, I was switch it to Diet at first, and then slowly cut it off by replacing it with something else. I can't imagine the empty calories in that amount. You will be motivated when you see the easy weight loss that will come with the switch! Good luck!

Ummmm.....WROOOOOOOOOOOOONG.:noway:

For some reason MFP is filled with folks who keep saying YOU'RE NOT EATING ENOUGH! If you're at a deficit...you're going to lose...we all want to believe we are special snowflakes...I was one of them. Ready this!!! It rings so true. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/872212-you-re-probably-eating-more-than-you-think

Just wanted to send a virtual hug. Injuries are the WORST. Especially when you are one of the minority who are actually trying to live an active and healthy lifestyle. You will get through this. Cut yourself some slack, maybe treat yourself to a pedicure..massage...something. I hope you feel better SOON!:flowerforyou:

The carb thing has been covered so I'm going to delve into the second half of the question....how do you make time to always eat right....well, lets dump the word always first....but for me I prepare ahead of time. Prepare, prepare, prepare. There are random snacks in my purse at all times. Second...I just keep hungry a…

For me I found it was where I was in the weight loss process. At first I was eating Lean Cuisine pizzas, and having Special K bars as snacks...diet garbage. Lost lots of weight though as I was at a deficit. As I got to a healthy weight I stopped losing for a long, long time. I started paying attention to quality and cut…

+1! I've been on MFP since 2009
-
I forgot to add, there was no change in weight the time between July 31st and August 7th when I left. Thanks. :-)
-
I think so. :-) Yeah, I went for a long vacation right about the time you set my goals. I have not been writing down my daily weights. I will do that and get back to you on the 16th. Thanks!
-
Side note...today I am teaching 3 classes. Spinning, Bodypump, and then subbing Bodycombat at night. Should i still stick to my 1600? This weekend was the worst disaster I've had in a long time. Girls weekend. Oof. Just curious. Thanks!

Hey SS. I actually left for vacation on August 7th. I think I was around 152.2 The one and only time I have gotten past these 150's plateaus was doing a low cal/low carb 28 day challenge and I got down to 147. Very strict. Anything above it and my body pops back up into the 150's. It does NOT want to leave them. When I…

Thanks Sara. MUCH APPRECIATED!!!:flowerforyou:

TRUTH BOMB. Love the BBC documentaries!

BUMP?:blushing:

Also wanted to add...that if anyone sees a culprit or has an idea let me know. My husband's friend brought me back English candy a couple of weeks ago (I'm originally from England) so there is small amounts of candy here and there that aren't usually there...I've been trying to spread it out and keep it in my…

Hi everyone. Back for a small regroup. I was gone for South Carolina/Disney World for a week and a half, but other than that I have been trying my best to really get macros/cals in line and writing down EVERYTHING. As you will see in my diary as I have things like half a cracker if I took a bite of my kids snack...it's in…

^^^^This. If you're at a real deficit you should be losing weight. You either aren't properly logging (this means weighing everything...yes a pain!) and maybe not burning as much as you thought. Insanity is TOUGH but short. I burn around 300 calories in a workout. It is easy to forget to add or miscalculate 300 calories in…

I think their point is that Luna bars aren't far off from candy bars nutritionally except for a bit more protein. The sugar is super high in these.
-
IMO waaaaay too much sugar, and carbs...but mostly sugar. I'd rather have a Snickers that tastes good. If I'm looking for a protein bar, I do Quest and the occasional Think Thin.

Just found sugar free pumpkin spice flavoring in the coffee aisle at Target. 3 bucks and no calories!
-
+1!!! Also, find some activities that you love, and if you can afford it get a Polar. My magic combo was MFP, a Polar, and group ex. I started logging foods at first and fell in love with spinning. I then could see what I burned on my Polar (ie 500 calories for example). I would then maybe go to the movies and actually see…

I think we can all relate to this...erm....ALERT. ;-) Something no one has mentioned here is asking you what your "diet" plan/lifestyle is? Maybe it's too strict and that is why you keep "failing". Are you trying to adhere to 1200 calories a day? Are you trying to workout 6 days a week? That isn't necessary for weight…

I will make a decaf with some sugar free flavored creamer. Helps take the edge off. And sugar free jello with a little redi whip.

Do you have any small box store gyms around? Like Planet Fitness etc? I think they are around 9.99 a month. If lifting heavy etc means a lot to you, maybe look around at your budget, see where you could cut 10 bucks, and then join one of the small gyms so you have access to the big girl weights?:flowerforyou:

Ditto with the Fitbit. I'm actually burning less than what I thought. My workout days are HUGE...but I don't do THAT much moving around outside of the gym. On my non-workout days or just one class, my burn isn't that big. Teaching 9+ fitness classes a week my TDEE is still only around 2400 or so. It probably underestimates…

Eat this ALL. THE. TIME. So easy.
-
Hey there! If you are REALLY being honest with your diary, then you aren't eating enough most days and yet still going way over on sugar. Get a food scale and start measuring. Put every spoonful in your diary, and remove the extra sugar and carbs with some protein. :-)
-
Everyone is different, but when I cut out processed carbs I lost weight...even when eating the same number of calories. Same deficit. One had me losing. One didn't.
-
Thanks. I guess my fear is exacerbated by the fact that I'm a gym employee. I teach group fitness, so they all know who I am...I walk into the weight area and I'm a deer in the headlights. I feel so uncomfortable. I will keep trying...but I just wanted to hide in a hole!
-
Totally did an epic fail in the weight room. Went in ready to go. PANICKED. Left. So uncomfortable and not having any idea what I'm doing. The one machine I did know, someone was on. I went to another rack to start with squats and when I tried to remove the bar, it stopped me in it's tracks...it didn't do squats. Got…
