Pizza...it is my kryptonite. I ran a fast 2 miles yesterday. It was extremely hot and humid. Nutrition was good. I've really fell off the wagon logging. I'm so buried and stressed with work I'm not really eating very much or logging. I hadn't planned on the "stress" diet but hit 178 today. I haven't been this light in the…

Still no lifting from me. I managed a 5k in 24:58, a second place finish in a dodgeball tournament (12 games) and several hours of kayaking since my last report. Nutrition has been good, my logging was really bad over the weekend. I don't think I'll be back to Body Beast until the kids are back in school. I started getting…

Nutrition was a bit of a bust, I got the munchies and my house is loaded with snacks. It wasn't horrible, but I should have found a distraction. Usually I'll eat some Sunflower seeds in the shell to keep myself busy but I was out. I really don't need all that salt either. No body beast, I was still sore from my Sunday run…

I'm still not working out, and probably won't do anything upper body this week. My elbow just can't handle moderate work, much less a workout. Nutrition has been good. I managed an 11.2 mile jog. My longest ever and I'm still a little sore. I don't know why I went so far I just kept thinking that I would go a little…

I got in late and didn't work out yesterday. Wroking on the Garden Tractor and fixing the driveway had me out late, greasy and gassed. Good nutrition, even though I spent a lot of my calories on one monstorous double cheeseburger. I'll either be kayaking tonight or working on my sister's boat; an official workout looks…

I got a 4 mile walk in with the Mrs last night., it is so muggy here. We finished the cold monson season and straight into the dog days of summer. Who stole my spring? I got up early enough for a 1.2 mile run, it seems like I'm faster and burn more calories on "mapmyrun" than I am on "runtastic". I just keep telling myself…

Jeff, you work hard and play hard. Sorry to see your schedule. What do you do? I'm an Engineer, I got out of consulting and into government to reduce my hours. I get the occassional long day with construction, but not as bad as you. Intotennis, your alias is appropriate. I could play that much volleyball if I could find…

Jeff 3 days is a tough row to hoe. Well done. Intotennis, my son explained that to my last year. Ripped, jacked then shredded would be the 3 stages of awesome in his 17 year old world. He is currently Jacked and working towards shredded. I've got 5 boys, the two oldest have had personal trainers for 3 years. I used to pay…

Welcome to the group Sara!

Apparently I did something to my right elbow during the upright rows the other day. It is swollen and hurts to fully straighten or fully bend it. I've got a bone fragment floating around in there and it gets a little funky from time to time. So I didn't do bulk Arms yesterday, just went for a 4 mile walk with the Mrs. I'll…

Intotennis, I love chocolate. Pizza and chocolate are my greatest weaknesses. Lucky for me chocolate whey powder with peanut butter, milk and frozen strawberries in a smoothie satisfies my crave. No answer for pizza, I just try to avoid it. Still having sync issues with my android. Another double night with a 4 mile walk…

The new update seems to have an issue syncing my workouts. However I got in a double header tonight. A three mile walk with the Mrs, a kid free conversation and some exercise is good for the mind and body. Bulk Back was my second round of exercise. I haven't done this one in a while and enjoyed the short but intense…

I didn't get in the house until 9 and was tired enought that I let myself veg on the couch with the kids for an hour instead of working out. I'm still sore from leg day so I'll add that excuse too. LOL Way to go with the late workout Jeff, I've done a few and it is hard to be motivated and break a sweat when you're ready…

Glad to hear you two had fun. Yesterday was Bulk Legs. I had a good one, but I've been very active with garage and yard work lately. I'm just dead tired by the time I get in the house to start my workouts. It was brutal, but I got it done. Nutrition was bad all weekend, with two birthday parties and Father's day. Water was…

intotennis, if he was smart he would avoid the rematch. My wife still holds the largest crappie catch and hasn't fished a couple years since. I've been trying to catch up on work around the house. I pulled weeds for a couple hours thursday and followed that with Build Chest. Last night I had a couple hours of garage…

Great workouts, I'm starting to feel the routine too Jeff. I had Bulk Back today and really enjoyed the quick workout. I got the Mrs out for a 3 mile walk also, so a good day. Nutrition was good calorie wise, but I'm still struggling with the macros. 72 ozs of water for me today.

Intotennis, you're a tennis playing machine. I can play that much volleyball, I just can't find a daily game. I gave up volleyball when I got heavy because my feet and knees couldn't handle it. No issues now though! Jeff, I got caught up in the "too late to work out" excuse also. I fell for it one night and just worked out…

Welcome Sheri, I wish I could get my wife to do Body Beast! She does really well exercising and eating then falls off the wagon and around and around she goes. I've tried walking with her to keep her in a routine, but with 5 kids, jobs and weather it is really hard to provide support and motivation. Actually she is the one…

I hope you had a good day on the Course, we've been stuck in a rainy cycle and can't seem to dry out. The boys made me take them fishing in sprinkles, because "at least there isn't any lightening". LOL we are desperate for summer here in Iowa. Yesterday was Build Legs for me, the second leg workout of the week. It was…

Yesterday's Kayaking was about all I did, so I'm going to call that a rest day. I had a brisk swim and got scratched up on some rocks and grass as I was scrambling downstream to recover my equipment. The rest of the day was a rainy, sleepy day. Nutrition was bad also due to an office party in the evening. Today will be a…

Beast Build Back for me, had a good workout, I've come a long ways in regards to pull ups. But the 3 sets of narrow grips for time still elude me. I'm shot by that point of the routine. Nutrition was off, meetings and dining out didn't help. A kayak adventure awaits this morning, with BB later. Have a great day!

Nice work on the 2-a-day, in round one I wouldn't have been able. Actually I took a 30 minute nap after Bulk Legs, lol not the first time. I had a good workout, this one amazes me how it makes me sweat without really doing cardio. Good thing I ran this morning, hopefully I will feel up to running tomorrow morning. I might…

Great Work Jeff! I dread legs too. In the previous rounds of Body Beast I got to the point where I look good in a t-shirt. At some point my wife said I almost had a butt. So the point of this round is to look good in jeans. I'm running in the morning because that had become my excuse not to lift. I could run 2 miles in the…

I'll start my first workout tonight. I'm glad your back! I'm going to work harder on legs, I'll do them 3x a week by squeezing out Bulk Arms, Chest and Back in favor of Build Chest and Build Back. I know gaining muscle and losing fat are opposing goals. I'll likely be low carb and a couple hundred calories above…

I'm not using C25K, but agree on breathing in strides. I'm 2 steps in and 2 steps out, it was never planned I just happens about 1/4 mile into the run. Everything before that is kind of random as my heartrate is coming up.

That is helpful Waldo, I've been through 3 cuts and 2 bulks. Each cut seems to take me back to where I finished my last cut as far as waist measurements go. I agree with your frustration regarding the navy method: I'll Google the Modified Y method. I look a lot different but I've been in the 10% by the Navy Method on 3…

Rich hasn't back to his post, but I bumped it because I can relate to his frustration. TheRealParisL, I sense some well meaning sarcasm; I bought the obese body one pizza at a time and I'm earning the one I have now. I just seem to be at the limits of my knowledge and seeking guidance. I hope you're suggestion that being…

Bump, you never know what wisdom the forums will provide today. Tomorrow is one years effort of losing 46 pounds and putting back 14 in lean mass. "Good enough" is the enemy of success. I've done well, but I'm bummed to have not met my ulitmate goal of single-digit BF% or 6 pack abs. I got to find the motivation to make…

Everyone is different, but we are on a similiar calorie plan. I'm sure it depends on the workout routines and macros also; I take 40p:30c:30f. I used the Navy BF estimating method. I find it interesting to track my trends, I'm not a fitness guru by any means. With all those disclaimers I'll share my data: My first bulk…

RH, you've done a lot of work so far congrats! Apex, I've done low carb before and can do it again. I think I've gotten too content with a happy diet and incremental success, that I didn't want to push harder. I'll try 4 weeks under 50 g Carbs a day and see what happens. I'll need to find my potassium supplements...and…
