Actually I'll do this with you as much as I can. Full disclosure: I have a decently stocked larder and a mason jar of leftover roast beef in my fridge right now. But I'll join you with my weekly shop (tomorrow).

I've done this before. The local market near me sells large bowls of fruit/veg for £1 so it's worth checking yours out. You can often get giant bags of things like onions, etc. for under £1. If you go at the end of the day you can get stuff a lot cheaper too - I once got a giant bag of limes for 15p and made lime drizzle…

I'm thinking of hooping too. I do the WiiFit hooping at the moment. What kind of hoops do you all have?

I cook for both me and my husband and he has a naturally much higher metabolism. One of the things I did is switch from rice to cauliflower rice for dinner (when we're having rice) and weighing out my portions.

I go to a spin class that uses this. They're great but not inexpensive.

I use kettlebells! I alternate doing this and this. They both take only around 10 minutes. Look for RyanRaw on youtube too.

Forest91: That's great. Good luck! The Crystal Palace one is too soon for me. Becky_charles: I've been meaning to do this! Every time I walk across London Bridge during rush hour I think about running the opposite way...through the suits and along the river.

For how much exercise to do, I try to meet the CDC guidelines for physical activity: http://www.cdc.gov/physicalactivity/everyone/guidelines/adults.html 150 minutes cardio and 2 days strength-training a week is the recommended minimum. I find I hit this by exercising for at least 30 minutes every day before week or during…

I like making omelettes with an egg and a tablespoon of yogurt. It looks more like a main meal, especially with a filling.

I'm in the UK, friend me!

This wait one hour after exercising sounds like *kitten*. If you worry about it, maybe have a satisfying milky drink before bed, like warm milk or a yogurt smoothie? Helps with sleep too. The other thing is maybe the rule exists in case you have a really intense exercise and having a heavy meal after will make you feel ill.

I have a Polar FT4 that I love too! I use apps like mapmyrun to track how many miles I've run and my speed.

Honestly I don't think ideal weight is standard for everyone. My post-puberty hips have always been 40" and above even when I was smaller at 130lbs, they're now 43". My waist is about 28. I'm trying to lose some weight and inches off my waist, but I'm gonna be realistic and accept that boobs & hips account for some of that…

45 mins spinning, 30 min run.

I prefer running on concrete too and I like walking around the Thames. That actually sounds like a fun route to do just casually and I might try it out one lunchtime soon. If my first 5K goes well, I might do Run the River next year!

I'm in the UK.

Ooh. Run the River looks fun - is it along the Thames Path? I'm only on week 1, but I've been randomly jogging for a while for about 20-30 min with no fixed plan. I'm following C25K to give myself some structure and a clear end goal. It's definitely teaching me to pace myself. Week 1 feels pretty relaxed, but I guess it'll…

Soda is my problem. I've been drinking water and coffee (with milk and sugar) or flavoured tea, but there's a Coke-shaped hole in my soul. :(
-
Totally add me too. I have a goal of losing 20lbs before spring vacation.

Me!

I'm 28, 5'2 and have 54lbs to lose!
-
Hi! I've also been on here a while, on and off, stopping after I lose like 5lbs and putting it back on. Now I need to lose it again, and more! Add me x

It's' pretty easy to get organic food in the UK. Other than the websites mentioned and organic groceries/butchers in your area, you can get organic fruit & veg boxes from Ocado online delivery. They also do lots of organic meats, dairy products, etc.
