  • You almost sounded like you were in total control of your "binge", which is probably a good thing. When I binge I devour everything in sight, and then I keep doing that for hours. I don't think I bother to even care about tracking anything after a certain point (not that it would even be easy to). I think my binges easily…

  • Naturally, you are free to eat whatever way you like, but a calorie is a calorie, that's fact. Do you think everyone on here is eating spinach for every meal to lose weight? No, most people eat whatever they want, while staying under a deficit, which is really the only thing that matters.
  • The package weight should only be referring to the tofu and not the water. I know that packaged foods can sometimes weigh more than the package states, but holy hell that's an added 50% right there!.
  • There will be hoards of people that are going to tell you that you can't target fat loss, and it's true. Keep a calorie deficit and the fat will come off from wherever it chooses to.
  • Unfortunately, you need to do more research. You can't target bodyfat. @OP - Eat at calorie deficit and it will come off eventually.

  • No need to apologize. I experience my fair share of binging so I can totally relate. All I can say is that you should probably try to avoid scales. Aside from the water retention weight, all the added food you eat post-binge is just going to add that much more scale weight...which tends to reaffirm that belief that the…
  • You're over-thinking this. Just drink lots of water (and I do mean lots), eat what you would normally eat and your weight will come back down soon enough. Also if it makes you feel any better, I'm up 15 pounds from 8000+ calorie binges. Binging is such a vicious thing..
  • Depending on what you ate and how much, it may not go down for several days or more, so just try not to get discouraged. Whenever I eat Chinese, it takes me up to a week to get a scale reading that isn't bonkers.
  • That's the thing about IBS (possibly IBS-C specific), something you ate a week ago could be messing with you today. This is why trying to determine what you are eating at a single moment is causing you an issue is difficult. I would strongly recommend keeping with a low FODMAP diet; bearing in mind that even "safe" foods…
  • How many calories do you eat a day OP? I hope it's not something ridiculous like 1200 calories. Secondly, when you reach your goal why will you set your goal to lose one pound instead of setting it to maintenance? Chances are that your TDEE and BMR are both higher than you imagine. If you're going to eat a one pound a week…
  • Are you 4 feet tall? because even then 92 pounds would probably be underweight. Aside from that, yes, counting calories is pretty effective for weight loss. But I'm just wondering why you have a 5 month timer on your journey? It sounds as if you're one of the many who simply want to fit into a new dress/bikini/etc by a…
  • Have you looked into the FODMAPS diet? It's something that a lot of people with IBS have success with. I've been doing it for a couple weeks now and have noticed some good improvement. It's...a pretty restrictive diet and probably a bit overwhelming to do without the help of a dietitian, but you should look into it. The…
  • No, your metabolism doesn't shutdown and start back up, so you don't need to kick start anything. @OP Meal timing isn't important. What's important is staying under your calorie goal. When you choose to eat those calories is entirely up to you. The only thing skipping breakfast might affect is your mood and possibly hunger…
  • No, it's not possible to gain eating below your TDEE. It's more likely that you were really eating more than you thought. As the user above said, weighing things really puts portion sizes into perspective.
  • Like you said yourself, they are just estimates. I'm still working on finding out my true maintenance; which in itself isn't easy because your tdee is always changing. MFP says I maintain at 2050 (which I was still losing at), so I've pushed it to 2300 temporarily to see if that will work out. A lot of people will try to…
  • Thanks to everyone for their advice and opinions.
  • Thanks for sharing your experience. And I think you're right, I might have more LBM. My belly is still loaded with fat but my lower body is still rather muscular. I was going to decide against it but your comment pushed me to raise it. I also believe that I take enough extra steps through the day to justify eating a bit…
  • I'm a pretty strict logger so there's no issue there. Honestly, It's too cold to do anything outside at the moment (Canada etc). But the real issue is that I suffer from depression and several anxiety disorders that make actually wanting to do and committing to strength training difficult. I guess It seems like I'm looking…
  • You're right. It's a pretty individual thing. I'm not really sure what I was expecting to be honest. It's not like the pounds are going to creep up on me if I did eat at 2200 a day. If I did gain it would take 4 weeks or so. I guess I'm just terrified to gain even a single pound doing this.
  • I have lost all my weight eating until upwards of 2-3 am daily. The body doesn't know the difference between 6pm and 6 am. So, just stay within your calorie goal and eat whenever suits you.
  • Most people would suggest like double what mfp recommends for protein. Unless you're a meat hound and eat nothing but meat, chances are that you're not getting enough of it.
  • Basically when your older ones are starting to slide off of you. You could try to minimize cost by maybe buying at a thrift store, since you know that most new clothes you get are going to be replaced by the time you hit your goal.
  • There's a few good bits in what you said but I feel like you are misinformed about mostly everything else. Calories in vs Calories out, that's all there is to it. You can have your goldfish, crackers, whip cream, and muffins, just make sure to weigh and log everything. Sugar and sodium are not an enemy to weight loss…
  • Binge eating is often a result of eating too little and/or depriving yourself of the things you enjoy eating on a daily basis. What is your weight, height and calorie goal?
  • 10 pounds of what, delusion?
  • I'm slightly confused. Did you manually configure your calorie limit? Because MFP can only set your goals to lose half pound, a pound, a pound and a half, and two pounds. Your current daily deficit is 157, which as shown in your image, works out to be far less than half a pound.
  • No time length can justify eating that low.
  • Probably since I've first taken breath.
