You are putting yourself in starvation mode for sure.. Either increase your calories or drop the exercise.. this is a common problem with my clients (I'm a nutritionist who specialises in weight loss). Secondly look into carb cycling.. superior weight loss method

Noted and in hindsight can see where you are coming from. Thanks mate. I just took it as a personal attack and that was my bad.

Yep I''ll apologise again. To confirm again.. Subtract calories from TDEE target and not your BMR. I'd hate for someone to take away bad advice from this thread. To the last few replies... Thanks for the positive words guys it means alot!! If anyone still has a question PM me and i'll answer it today/tomorrow when I have…

I was just thinking faster than I can type, its a problem at times haha.

Yup I know. To clear that up everyone that reads this... it is your TDEE... DO NOT subtract calories from your BMR. That is not what I was trying to get across.
-
I owned up to the mistake.. Lol. I thought it was clear when I was talking about alternating your physical activity to match your calorie target (lifestyle/exercise included) and not your BMR without lifestyle factors included...
-
It was just the general reaction to my mistake.. Yes I legitimately screwed up but with people like hawkeyety around why bother. I don't need this.

Sorry guys i'm done helping, hope I helped some. God I hate the internet at times
-
Lol yep I am... I actually knew that.. sigh. Ok I'm done

You don't do it permanently. Only until you lose the weight and then you increase the calories and eating a couple hundred under is fine for a weight loss goals or you will forever stay the same.
-
Sorry I should mention 500 is a bit high for lower calorie targets. Females should set to 300 especially if you are short.

Hey Fboudreau Any idea what your calorie target is? The ideal target is 500 calories under your resting metabolic rate. If you burn 500 calories a day you burn 1lb of fat a week. If you use metric 1KG = 2.2lb. Alcohol can add up in the calories. I am a nutritionist but I still believe life is for living and that you…

Penny Are you aware of how many calories you are eating each day? You have a specific calorie target that is dependant on your age/lifestyle/weight. If you don't meet that target your body will either speed up OR slow down to match what you are eating. Fat is very "Energy Dense" and is 9 calories a gram. Carbs and protein…

Hi MarieCurie88 I have two theories.. 1. Stress does crazy things to the body. Sometimes you need to put aside 10-20 mins of the day and just let yourself be. Forget everything you're worrying about and just enjoy the moment. High cortisol hormone (stress) levels can cause problems with sleep, weight loss and muscle gain.…

Hi Bfanny Weights are far superior to cardio for weight loss AND body shape. You can lose alot of body fat with cardio and be left with a shape you aren't happy with! Weightlifting also keeps you strong and you age better. When I want to lose more weight I will lower my weights and do longer sets with less rest. Keep that…

A cleanse will crash your metabolism! Don't do it! Focus on a healthy metabolism and the weight loss will be the side effect!

Hey I'm a certified nutritionist and I see this quite often with my female clients. You are doing alot of activity for 1200 calories!! I hope you are reasonably short otherwise increase your calories immediately. If not your body is essentially in starvation mode and is slowing metabolism to try retain your body fat…

Hi Seek_Joy The leaner you get.. the harder it gets to remove the last bit of fat (which is stored around the belly). If you have hit a plateau and your calorie target is 500 below your Resting Metabolic Rate you should try carb cycling. This is where you alternate between high carb and low carb days. How many calories are…

Hey There This is what I tell all my clients. Fruit is good for you. It has lots of vitamins and dietary fibre. However sugar is still sugar! If your primary goal is weight loss it is best to only have minimal fruit and try get your nutrients through vegetables instead. Once you lose the weight start adding more fruit back…

Is your calorie target too far under what your actual 'resting metabolic rate' should be? If you don't eat enough calories this can slow weight loss as your body slows the metabolism to compensate for not enough food coming in and holds on the fat stores.

Hey there I think calorie cycling is very beneficial. The most effective combination I have found to use is carb and calorie cycling combined and can really help when trying to get to the lower levels of body fat! I try to eat a little less calories and carbs on my non-training/physical activity days. I find a good rule is…

If you are undereating with protein it could definitely help and if you replace the calories of something else with protein then you may lose more weight because protein has a 'higher thermic effect' which means you burn more calories digesting protein than carbs or fats.
