Okay so I'll be specific, Do you think monsanto SPECIFICALLY has any merit to society at all? Because I see it as a billion dollar company, whose lobbyists affect government regulations, allowing them to basically answer to no one? Monsanto specifically is certainly not "foundational to medicine and research"
-
How do you figure? MAYBE you could argue vaccinations, but thats besides the point we are talking about FOOD
-
I'm not scared of food I'm scared of billion dollar industries and their associated lobbyists
-
haha. Are you suggesting that GMOs have increased life span? Because I would say its probably our medical, technological and sanitation advancements....
-
Not to mention GMOs are under patent laws, so now these plant varieties are under patents and have thus been "privatized", thus making monsanto a billion dollar herbicide company one of the first to own a species of plant and can defend that by law.

GMO vs NON GMO does not affect weight loss as far as I know. But I have to say it drives me crazy when people say that GMOs are fine because there is no evidence to prove its bad for your health. When in reality there is no epidemiological, long term studies at all. Therefore lack of evidence is just that - lack of…

What is it they say......The proof is in the pudding!! Great job that is pretty admirable!

5'7 and 143 is not overweight. (BMI = 22.4 = normal weight) I know you are feeling some deep feelings right now but I truly feel like this is more about self esteem than anything else. You truly need to learn to love yourself more. You need to 100% stop the negative self talk, if I sat around all day calling myself…

Consistency is more important than perfection. Remember no matter what happens and you "fall off the wagon" that we ALL do. The ones who see success are the ones who get back up and keep on trying. i also think making small achievable goals, and small achievable changes along the way is a good way to go. Also, remember you…

seriously 10 years younger! great job!

You're doing GREAT! I also suffer from RBF bahahaha

Its okay to have ups and downs, it is bound to happen. It goes to show that no matter what we look like or how much we succeed, sometimes we are harder on ourselves than necessary. Silly as it may sound, sometimes you need to take the time to look in the mirror and tell yourself, out loud, that you're beautiful and that…

very well said! Anyone who gets frustrated with weight loss plateaus should heed this advice!!
-
Honestly, just eat what ever "diet" you can see your self doing LONG term - like the rest of your life. Don't make a drastic change all at once. Start small by adding more fruits and veggies and reducing processed junk. Don't deprive yourself. Stay with in your calorie limits. Be consistent. Slow and steady wins the race.…

What great advice! Sometimes our big goals can seem overwhelming but breaking it up into tiny - doable things is much more manageable! For example maybe all day tomorrow you include a fruit or veggie at every single meal and snack - no matter what else your eating. See how that goes. then the next day just track what your…

I checked some of your other posts as well, and to be honest I would consider taking a break from MFP, calorie counting and dieting all together. Just try and live a normal life for a bit, get back to enjoying food. You won't become obese overnight, I promise.

WOW look at those curves girl! you lucky lady! you look great
-
Also.... congratualtions!! You look great :)

11No need to feel disappointed! I think there is a huge difference, ESPECIALLY in the top 2 pics!! Although we can't do much about our body shape (I don't like my shape either) I do think it will improve with continued weight loss and maybe some strength training and exercise

Beautiful before and after!!!
-
I agree with what everyone else says. But this is what I do... I eat every single thing that I want to eat.... BUT I try not to eat a huge amount and I will take home leftovers if needed.
-
absolutely wonderful!!! you look great :D

What an amazing journey! Congratulations, you rock :flowerforyou:

I've been thinking about this, and I think when I hit goal I will stay on maintenance calories for a few months to get an idea of the amount of food I can eat while maintaining and then I may stop using MFP.... BUT I will use a hand written journal and simply write down the foods I eat (with out numbers). This way I will…

I would just lose until you feel comfortable in your own skin. Maybe thats 130 maybe its 150. Don't worry about the number and just do whats right for you.

It isn't "bad" to drink your calories. The problem is that they don't fill you up. So 100 cals from a coke is not going to fill you up where as 100 cals from lean protein or actual food will make you feel satisfied. So I see them as wasteful calories not bad calories. Food is more satisfying and leaves you more full at the…

hmm thats a toughy. I find sweeteners are good for weening off sugar, but IMO I don't know if I would make them a regular part of your diet. The problem I find is that they tend to simply remind me that I want something sweet with out satiating my sweet tooth. That is just my experience. Personally I think you would be…

Personally, I think grape juice is pretty close to sugar water. I would say you'd be better off eating grapes. Or juicing fresh fruits and vegetables maybe. But I don't know of any benefits of grape juice aside from extra calories and maybe some antioxidants which are not hard to find in everyday fruits and veggies. Sorry…

I agree with the others. Try and REALLY log every single bite. weigh and measure your food. It doesn't even have to be "healthy" for the first little bit (or ever depending on your goals and motivations). Just concentrate on logging accurately, consistently and hitting your calorie goals. In many ways it is simple math. In…

Well it depends. If your doctor told you to eat 1460 per day - then I wouldn't eat back exercise calories. Some people do some people don't. You just have to do what works best for you, if the 1460 is leaving you hungry than sure eat the calories that you burned during exercise. BUT if you find you aren't losing weight…
