  • I’ve got about 50 to lose...again unfortunately. Feel free to add me invermont25@yahoo.com
  • Just restarting myself...again.. 44, need to lose 40lbs. I'll add you :) Anyone else feel free to add me. All my *old* friends have long since stopped using MFP. I'm friendless ;)
  • Just restarting after trying another program the past couple years. All my friends from back in the day no longer use MFP. Feel free to add me :)
  • I'm a busy Mom. I've got between 30-40lbs to lose. That number was once much higher though. I had lost about 90lb and then went back to nursing school. I saw your name and thought you could probably relate to that :) I gained the 30+ while in school and working full time, plus the whole mom thing at the same time. I'm…
  • I take 50mg right now which is what he started me on originally. Good luck!
  • 41 here. 2 kids. I was less than 10 pounds from goal weight (took 4 years to lose about 85 pounds) and then the bottom fell out for me around the holidays 2 years ago. During that time I also switched jobs (10 hour weekdays to 12 hour weekend nights) and went back to school. In the 2 years, I've since gained 35 back so now…
  • I take spironolactone for hormonal acne as well. I have been on it for 4 years. It is dose dependent as far as the action of the medication. Typically, they start low, wait a few months, check a potassium level (as it is a potassium sparing diuretic) and see if the acne is improving. if not, they they can go up 25 or 50mg…
  • New LPN here. Graduated from an intense 1 year program in June and started the ADN year on Monday. I work 3 12hr night shifts (7-7a) as a sleep tech Friday Saturday and Sunday. I did this through most of my PN year. It was nuts. I went from school to work on Friday and work to class on Monday. I'm 41, have 2 kids, house,…
  • 40ish here too. I was down to 10 left till GW then I changed jobs and went back to school last year (at age 40) and put 30lb back on......I'm so frustrated with not being able to keep myself motivated like I was before
  • I miss the 150lb me too. Mostly because it took me 4 years and 85lbs of weight loss to get to that 150lb body. Problem is now I have 30 lbs again to lose to get back there. A job switch to weekend night shift to facilitate going back to nursing school is a huge part of it but I just can't get myself back in the game. I'm…
  • I started buying the skinny pop in the 100 calorie bags instead of the costco size humungous one because it forces portion control...lol. Side note on the ice cream. Edy's (Dreyer's) Slow Churned Ice cream tastes exactly like regular ice cream. Super smooth and creamy and all the bonus of light ice cream :)
  • I started working 12 hour night shifts about 2.5 months ago. I worked 10 hour day shifts doing a similar job for the past 15 years. Between the holidays and the swap to nights, I've gained 10-13 pounds and it is so discouraging. I work Friday Saturday Sunday 7p-7a and spend the 85% of the night sitting in front of 2…
  • I agree. Unless you think that you have to attend meetings and weigh in to lose weight, WW will not do anything different for you..that is other than take your money. I did WW for about 18 months, lost ~60 pounds but just couldn't get any lower at that time. I actually moved from WW to MFP because on WW you don't count…
  • Too funny. I did this same research last night. I found that for most ice creams 60-65grams is equal to 1/2 cup. I am in the US and after all my research on how much a 1/2 cup ice cream weighed, found out from a post on here that the container likely has it in grams too. I simply weight out 122 grams (as my Friendly's…
  • 38 with 2 boys. Been working on my end goal for close to 4 years. Down 75lbs but I've really only lost about 10 pounds in the last 18 months though so I still have 15 left. Always happy to have support and encouragement.
  • I could always use and give support 38 (almost 39) Female 5'6" SW: 230 (lost the first 60ish before starting MFP on a "point" counting plan) CW: 154-159 I seem to be stuck in a yo-yo rut :( GW: 139 I was running but had an achilles injury in August that forced me to stop. I started doing Jazzercise and love it. I do 6-7…
  • I got an inexpensive 2qt crockpot. I put it on high for about 2 hours, stir it, then drop it to warm for the rest of the night. It's typically on low from 9 or 10 p till 6:30am. Give it a good stir and puts your add-ins on and yumm. And yes...spray with non-stick spray first!
  • I too make a batch in the crockpot then add what I want to it for flavoring each day. yum. 1 cup of steel cut oats to 4 cups of liquid is perfect
  • I am also on Steel Cut oats kick. I started making them in my crockpot. So easy. I have a 2 quart one that I picked up for less than 10 bucks. I spray the inside with non-stick spray. Then 1 cup of regular steel cut oats and 4 cups of liquid. It makes 4 servings. I put some almond milk in as liquid and a few packets of…
  • And I totally agree. Focus on one day at a time. otherwise it gets too overwhelming :)
  • I hear ya!! I'm at 1400 a day too and somedays I'm ok and others I feel like I could eat my arm off. I think some of it is hormonal too. Maybe try setting your calories to either maintenance or only half the weekly weight loss to get through the season of "giving". In a couple of weeks go back to a deficit that will get…
  • hi All and Thanks I do have a HR monitor. I used to wear it wear it running. I will wear it to class this week and hopefully see if it is overestimating. I don't typically "eat back" by exercise calories so I never really worried about if MFP had them overestimated or not. I do use a food scale but not for everything....I…
  • Sure. Everyone needs support sometimes!
  • I am so right there with you. I was actually getting ready to post my own comment when I saw yours. I'm stuck at a plateau. I've been the same weight for 4 weeks. I was roughly at a 6500 calorie deficit for last week. I admit I might not count every taste, but and lick but that's still gotta be a difference that should be…
  • I tell myself every day that this isn't a race. I have no time frame that i HAVE to lose the weight in. Of course I have my own "goals" for time but just because I don't reach them doesn't mean I've failed. As of next month this is a 3 year journey I've been on. I'm 70lbs lighter, though I still have 15 or so left and I'll…
  • I'm in the same boat. I have roughly 15 pounds to get to my goal weight of 140 (SW 225). I run 5 to 6 days a week and have a hard time doing strength training and weights. I realize its important but I just don't get the same feeling out of that as I do the cardio. Also, I don't get many calories "back" from weight…
