I would say I'm athletic (with bigger shoulder and arms) but I would love to be muscular :)
-
Ummm... what makes you say that?

several of my friends on mfp have had great success doing intermittent fasting. Although I have actually fasted for about 16 hours with no water or food (it was during Ramadan) for 6 days, my husband would agree that fasting is not for me :( I become far too moody when I try to go even for short amounts of time with no…

My mother-in-law has recently lost a fair bit of weight and mentioned none of her trousers fit... I would have NO idea what to select for her, so we are thinking of a gift voucher. As for my own mum, will probably organise to have some native Australian flowers delivered... and a phone call.

Unfortunately Turkey doesn't have any cool little independent coffee shops, it's all big chains. I prefer to make my own coffee at home, but recently they opened up a Caribou Coffee in our neighbourhood, and it's hands down the best one in the area!

why do you think you need to eat breakfast? If you get your calories in throughout the day, no problem with skipping breakfast. Some of my most successful friends on here don't eat breakfast. Quick breakfast ideas- protein shakes boiled eggs/ omlettes oatmeal toasted sandwich muffins (lots of healthy recipes) protein bars

If you have a calorie deficit, you'll lose weight. It might be a good idea to track cals for a while.

oats or eggs

I used Jack3D a few times, but to be honest, I get the same buzz off a strong cup of espresso. Sorry I wasted the American dollars on it, could have found another pair of cool sneakers instead :)

English, Turkish and Japanese, used to speak Italian but have forgotten everything

Hi Letitia, I am so sorry to hear your husband had cancer, thank goodness he has recovered. You sure have dealt with a lot, I hope you are settled in your new home. Take care

start now. Lifting weights won't make you bulky, it will help you achieve the 'toned' look you are after. New Rules of Lifting for Women is a good place to start if you are new to it.

A great reminder, ninerbuff. We have a friend that has been in a wheelchair for the past 10 years (injured in a car accident that killed his father), and spending time with him always reminds me how lucky I am.

I am 5'2'' I think... (I am used to cms). Welcome to add me if you like. I'm not really looking to lose much weight, just focusing on getting stronger and staying on track.

1200 cals seems quite low... what do you have your goals set to? If you open your food diary it could help. The closer you are to your goal weight, the less the deficit should be. Are you eating back exercise cals? As for low(er) cal food, lately I have been eating cupfuls of lettuce with lemon juice which helps fill me up…

this looks great!

Absolutely! I have only been lucky enough to meet one mfp friend in person, when she visited Istanbul (she stayed with me). It was awesome, I'd love to meet more.

Why is it too late to eat? So long as you are in a calorie deficit you'll lose weight, doesn't matter what time of day you consume said calories. You say you wouldn't eat a meal after the gym, why not? I often eat the bulk of my cals in the evening after a workout...

heart :)

your pictures are adorable :)

From NSW, currently living in İstanbul :)
-
I would probably do this... I have been known to even turn up to my in-laws for breakfast with my own food :)
-
If I had to pick one, I'd probably go with Pride and Prejudice. Also enjoyed the Help and the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Have just finished reading the Steve Jobs autobiography, that was a really good read too.

I married a Muslim :) I was raised as a christian, although it's been a while since I've been to church.
