I do not think there is anything wrong with drinking to get a buzz. I don't get "drunk" off a bottle of wine because I usually choose a lower percentage like 12%. Nor, does it have anything to do with "emotional eating." I just sometimes like to have drinks with friends and prefer the taste and effects of wine over vodka,…

I am not the type of person to just have one glass for the sake of just having wine. If I am drinking with friends, I like the buzz. "So don't drink the whole bottle" or "whole bottle is bad" is not really going to work for me. That is like saying, "Don't have the whole 6-pack, just have one." Not as fun! lol

Yes.... I did 2lbs a week and my time frame was unrealistic. It had be eating 1200 cals a day... but all the other BMR and TDEE calculations are recommending 1600-2000 a day.... plus a higher level of protein etc.... I am freaking out... and unsure what I should be following now...

LOL! WOW! I did not realize so many people on here still drink it. I find I feel so much more healthy when off of it... I think I might have some here and there just for a treat so I do not become dependent. Even 1 once a day causes me to depend on it physically. Kudos to those who can drink it black! I def cannot.
-
When you log the cals you burned your cal intake limit increases that day for that reason. Are you following that? Protein shakes can be very helpful too. I just started once a day mixing a scoop of North Coast ISO Chocolate Whey Protein with a cup of skimmed milk. I feel fuller longer.

awesome job!

I feel like this sometimes too. I am considered "obese" yet most people are telling me I do not need to lose weight. And when I am in photos alone I look great! Next to others, not as much. I am very curvy and carry weight well... but it depends on the photo, or lighting, or whatever that determines if I look good or not…

In a study that was done (learned this is an intro to psyc course way back) there was a group of subjects that had been "dieting" and a group that had not been. Both groups went to a buffet/party/potluck type thing and those who had been dieting ate more food than those who were not because they had a hard time not…

Yes! Protein and nuts (protein shakes, meat, eggs, walnuts, etc) would be good for if you are looking to do strength training. Also, some cards after your workout. This is information my friend's trainer gives her.

Amazing!

holy, hot.

awesome!!!!
-
Are you doing strength training/toning? That will make a big difference too.
-
If you are doing strength training and things, you want your protein to be higher. I always always go over protein.

wow! your face is beautiful! great job!

Luckily I live alone and have complete control. Living with others can def be difficult when you have your own goals you are trying to reach. Maybe try sitting down with him and planning out meals/shopping list and talking to him the night before about what he will be making... I don't think it would be offensive because…

I stopped drinking coffee altogether in order to lose weight and feel healthy.

I am sorry your husband is being really shallow. I guess maybe at least he is honest? I don't know. Do this for you and your health... and take time to work on yourself. I personally would not stay in a marriage where someone makes me feel awful about myself.

As hard as it is, maybe try removing all "junk food" from the home. I have a bag of stuff I am giving away today. If I know it is there I will eat it and drive myself insane. Congrats on your loss though! I gained 5 lbs over xmas and am disappointed about it.

very lovely!

This is coming from a professional in the mental health field: This is disordered eating, yes. I think you should try and see a counsellor because it is obviously causing you stress. Perhaps a nutrionist and ED specialist would be helpful too.

I like when people have theirs open because sometimes I just want meal ideas or when I see someone who has done really well I am curious to see how they have been eating so that maybe I can learn something.

I take a Vitamin B-Complex pill, salmon oil, Vitamin D, 5-HTP, and folic acid daily or every second day. I don't know what is doing what, but I notice a big difference. I think for me it is the Vitamin D.

Find something that fits your schedule and you will enjoy. For me I loved zumba but the classes where I live are limited and it was not enough or flexible enough. I found a friend who loved the gym and started going with her just to try it out and wound up really liking it. The more I go, the more I keep going because it…

It sounds like maybe he quickly thought up something to make it seem as though he was not attracted to her and not hurt you feelings (maybe) without realizing what he was quickly saying sort of applied to you as well, if that makes sense. But, it bothers me period when men comment on women in anyway, especially in front of…

That is extremely judgemental. Obviously people are not "afraid of food" but obviously many people on here have histories of struggling with eating right and exercising or they would not have been in the position to join a site like this in the first place. People are afraid of ruining their progress. Some people have food…

I disagree. 8 hours of driving in the woods and only passing gas stations here and there really do limit what is available. I am not saying it is impossible, but it is for sure challenging. Maybe I will need to pack some sandwiches? Who knows. Also, when going from home to home visiting am I likely to stop by myself at a…

Decisions based on emotion do not usually stick. All those times I felt sad about my weight and thought I needed to lose weight... never stuck. It was a calm moment when I realized "Why am I not trying to be healthier and stronger?" It took a moment of me wanting what is best for me over all and in the long run, rather…

Exactly. THANK YOU. And "Christmas" can be a 2-3 week thing for some people. And SOME people do not want to ruin their progress. Does it mean we will NOT enjoy xmas? No. It just means there are risks for some of us. Especially those travelling and staying with others in an unpredictable environment (i.e.: food, places to…

Christmas is different if you are on the road a lot and staying with other people in their homes and either eating what they offer or eating out somewhere else. Big difference. I can just not go to restaurants and eat healthy at home the rest of the time. I am travelling 8 hours by car just one way and staying with other…
