Hi all! I just wanted to encourage you all that this is a "YES I CAN" place! A few years ago, I needed to lose over 100 pounds. Currently still working on those last 20 or so pounds. What I found helpful was to break it up into smaller goals...5 or 10 pounds at a time. To think of 100 pounds was overwhelming but 10 was…

Congrats to all those losers on the scales but we are all winners here as we are striving for a healthier lifestyle. Unfortunately, I strayed from the path and binge ate the last two days. For me, I've learned not to weigh after these episodes as I am prone to getting into that self loathing loop as I call it.…

Good going you losers you!!! I am gonna :drinker: party:drinker: with ya (water in that glass!!!) this week as I am down a pound! I am thinking I am gonna lose 10 more and see if that is where my doctor and I think I need to be or if I need to lose more. So for me 1 down, 10 to go :flowerforyou:

Ok...I did good but not excellent with this. :noway: I succeeded 5 of 7 nights, which is an improvement from the habit of over snacking 7 of 7 nights. So my goal for next week, obviously, will be to improve on that!

Now that's a big start!!! :noway: Four pounds... bye bye!!! Way to go and glad you stuck it out. The main thing is now you know YOU can do it!

Thanks for posting supporting data for your views. I didn't see them as annoying but as tools to help assess what may work for an individual.

In my opinion, I think every "body" is different so no one way/plan/method/etc. works for all. For example, if I skip breakfast, I can't workout as well, my blood sugar gets unstable and am more likely to over eat at lunch. Others have no problem. I, too, tend to save a good portion of calories for the evening meal and…

Brismum....OC gave some great advice! I was a LOT heavier than your starting weight when I began this journey. The thing is, it doesn't matter where you start as long as you stay on the journey! Congrats to you for starting!

Week 2 mini-goal: Recently, I have been having evening binge behavior...something I'd gotten control of previously. It has returned with a vengeance! Therefore, my mini-goal is NO EMBELLISHING the planned evening snack this week (usually around 100 calories!)

Umm no gain no loss here....steady at 186. I expected to see the scale go up as I'd over celebrated the New Year! :ohwell: Good going all the "LOSERS" and the rest of us will get 'em next week!

Hi all and thanks for forming the group! It happened at a time when I needed it  Name/Age/Location --Denise, 56 (I so can't believe it!) and Asheville, NC One big goal for 2012--Complete my weight loss journey (30-35 pounds more I think--depends on how "it" feels) Two small goals for 2012 --1) Drop a pants size 2)…

Thank you for the invitation! I really need this to finish up losing the last 25 to 30 pounds. This group will certainly help! Friday is just round the corner :noway: so we need to get the "glisten" on and eat healthy! Thanks again for the group an we certainly WILL win in 2012!

Hi Amy and welcome! I agree with mruntidy...if you think you have 100+ pounds to lose, it can be overwhelming. Break it into little bits (I did 5-10 pound increments) and when met, treat yourself with a non-food reward. This may sound extreme, but I'd also ask myself if eating ___ (you fill in the blank with a…

I have a ton of these I've collected. They include: “Habit is habit and not to be flung out of the window by any man, but coaxed downstairs a step at a time.” Mark Twain “If you don't do what's best for your body, you're the one who comes up on the short end.” Julius Erving “Instead of giving myself reasons why I can't, I…

This ^^^^ Yes it sucks but you are worth the effort and so are your kids who will love having a healthier mom!

We all have strayed from the path on our journey to healthier living. The thing is to get back on the path! Let me know if I can help in any way.

YOU CAN DO IT! And if I can help in any way, let me know! Yep the journey is long, but you are so worth it and so is what you will discover about yourself along the journey. Here's to what you will accomplish in 2012!

HI there! The first thing I did was make sure I was committed to doing whatever it took to lose the weight and eat healthier. Then I scoured the message boards and internet to find what exercises, ideas and foods would work for me. Every BODY is different and responds as such so although there are general principles that…

HI there! You know the how in becoming un-fluffy. This is the year to get healthy or healthier so we feel even better and up our chances of avoiding medical issues! Support is a great thing so add me if you think I can help in any way.

Until I knew I could say "no" to foods that I needed to avoid, I too didn't go to events with friends. After a while, I realized that I could plan my meals at restaurants via scanning the internet menus. For social events at friends houses, I take food I know I can eat. It is amazing how many of my friends now enjoy having…

I know how you feel! I had surgery the first part of November and have just been released to get back to doing my routines at the gym. While I enjoyed the break, I can say that the lack of exercise made me munch more and put on a few pounds. I think a break now and again isn't a bad thing and, hopefully, makes us realize…

Here are a few of my favs I have hanging on the fridge: “The big secret in life is that there is no big secret. Whatever your goal, you can get there if you’re willing to work.” Oprah Winfrey “First you fuel the desire, then the desire will fuel you.” Napoleon Hill “Don’t say you don’t have enough time. You have exactly…

Okay James...I really tried to get through the math but that is not my forte, so I'll leave that to you math/engineering/medical types. (Seriously...I got out of college math by the skin of my teeth!) But I love the thought of multitasking by hydrating AND burning calories! Thanks for the

I forgot Hendrix...how in the h3ll could I forget Hendrix!!! Must be the "purple haze all in my brain!"

Blast from the past but still in my life....zepplin, stones and doors. Couldn't choose!

Well speaking from experience and from professional consultations, it depends on your age and how much you are losing. As we age, our skin loses its elasticity and nothing will bring it back. When younger, lotions and some weight training helps a lot but for me, that ship has sailed! I have a lot of excess skin, but it…

I eat it basically every day. I get the organic plain oikos and add stuff...vanilla flavoring, cinnamon and, depending on my calories/nutritional values for a given day, add berries, fruit, granola, nuts. Use it as a mini-meal mid-afternoon.

Hi and no, there isn't a magic wand. As you age, your skins elasticity, much like that in a pair of underwear, gets shot. I used vats of lotions and did weights, but I still have a lot of skin. I joke that I look like a raisin! As for the BL contestants, the younger ones have better skin elasticity and the older ones are…

Given that I am in your club of having lost 100+ pounds, I know that everything you've said is true. I get the same questions and the expectation is that I discovered a magic wand or the food fairy left all non-caloric desserts, pizza, etc. at my house. We all want easy. The fact is, it isn't. It never will be. And until…

Hey there doris! Looking great on your journey and I, too, have issues with picture posting! Keep up your positive attitude and all the great work you've done.
