I'm 29 with 2 little ones, youngest 18 months. I lost the weight running and calorie restricting and lost most of the pooch from weight lifting. 5'1" current ~107

Find healthier ways to cook the egg, cut out the pizza, eat smaller amounts of the cheese. Meat is good for you in moderation, try switching cottage cheese for mayo, worked for me. What about planning your splurge so you can indulge without going too far. Also, keeping busy during your weak times really helps.

Hi there, I started out just like you so I will tell you how I did it with no trainer. I have had great success, my arms, legs, butt are super tight you could almost bounce a coin off them :-) My tummy is not there yet but I've had 2 kids so I might never have a super tight midsection however it is way better than before.…

That's a lot of upper body work. Add some step ups, squats or deadlifts. I made myself a list of my 12 fav exercises and aim to do about 6-7 per session. The next session I alternate the other 6-7. I go 3 times per week. Here is my list, I bring it with me to write down how much I lift and how many reps/sets: Lower body:…

I think she should lose some weight before much activity is introduced. My mom is obese and 51, she changed her eating habits and lost 50 since January 1st. Now she is able to start exercising because she can move and breath better.

Hi Amanada, you cannot spot reduce body fat. Your body will lose wherever is wants to, all you can do is lose weight in general and eventually it will come off. Yes you can exercise those muscles under the fat however the results won't show until the fat isn't covering it anymore. Cardio burns calories, cardio intervals…

When I can't squat with much weight I alter my squat for that day. I get a bosu ball and turn it ball side down, get a dumbell of my choice and do tea cup squats on the bosu. This helps my develop my stability and I'm still doing squats. Find a modified version of a bench or do another upper body exercise. Recovery is when…

I hate and love running, I think most runner's feel the same. The euphoria I feel is from almost being done :-) I think about everything and nothing at the same time, crazyness. I eat a couple handfuls of trail mix 1 hour before, if I am more tired that day I eat fruit 20-30 min before. Tip: try intervals, run walk sprint…

100% agree with Kelley528 One piece of cake didn't make you fat and denying yourself a piece once in a while won't make you skinny. Everything in moderation, even moderation.

29 years old, 5'1" & 106 lbs and have been lifting for about 5-6 weeks, 3 times weekly on calorie restriction. I squat 70 lbs deadlifted 65 but could do more the problem is that I can't get the heavier ones back on the rack :-( could probably do a lot more. bench dumbells, 2 X 25 lbs = 50 lbs chest press 2 X 15 llbs = 30…

-Squats for a better bum. You can do it at home or the gym with weight. Obv with weight will give you better/faster results. -Y presses -pushups for sure -chin ups (you can do this at the park) -dumbell rows

Use your intuition, if you think you are being scammed you probably are. They say that your gut instincts are usually correct about this kind of stuff and societal norms/civility cause us to ignore instincts.

I was never super big but I have had 2 kids and my tummy is destroyed (crepe skin!). Other than losing weight, which I did it was weight training that tightened me up. It doesn't fix the skin issue, I am still hoping time will heal that. Straight leg Deadlifts and russian twists (google it) made my tummy get tighter and it…

I guesstimate the number of serving. When I make muffins it usually makes 24 minis, sometimes though it makes less for whatever reason, I still put 24. When I make cookies this is an issue but being close enough will work, it's not like you're eating 100 so under or overestimating by 20 cal can't be that big of a deal.…

I try to keep my calories low so I can understand the draw of low-fat foods but when you compare the labels there isn't as big a difference as you'd think, sometimes just 10 cal.... I now eat plain greek yogurt, it's 60 cal and 10g of protein and you get used to the taste super fast. It was difficult to find a protein…

I am calorie restricting and lifting. I did this to avoid losing muscle while losing bodyfat. It is working great. I've heard that when you are losing weight 1/3 of that is muscle and lifting can reduce that a lot so that when you are losing weight you are mostly losing fat and preserving muscle. I did notice that my…

This is just a guess, it's the sweetner in your foods and not the water. Even one low-fat anything (cause they always seem to have sucralose or aspartane) causes me to bloat and feel gross. I switched to regular greek yogurt and no low sugar anything and it made me feel better. If I am worried about eating too much fat or…

I take a guess if I really can't figure it out, most of the time I can find something on the internet that will give me a good idea of total calories. When I am really concerned that the food prepared for me is too rich I will only take a small portion and load up on veggies. Also, don't eat at restaurants/takeout too…

Just keep up what you are doing. I started the same way and now run 5K everyday easily! Took me about 3 months to get to that point. Once running for 1 min is easy, increase to 2 min and walk 3 min. Soon enough you`ll only walk to warm up and run the whole time :-)

Agree!

lift weights, do whole body routines. I'm so focused that time flies and never feel weird (anymore) about going alone. I swear that 45 min feels like 10. It's way more fun than cardio, makes me feel strong (I'm 5'1" and peitite) and makes me look better. I love it!

This is my lower body and core routine, 3 sets of 10 reps: Squats (lifting ~60 lbs) Step Ups w/bicep curl (1 set is 10 reps on each leg) Deadlift (65 lbs) Dumbell Lunges (1 set is 10 reps on each leg) Russian twists with medicine ball Knee pull ups (hanging from arms and pulling knees up to chest) Bicycle crunches Plank…

I do 3 sets of 10 reps. I won't do all of those if I am trying to progress to a heavier weight because my upper body gets fatigued. If I am only doing a moderate amount of weight (heavy but I am not completely exhausted by the 10th rep) I will do all of those.

Look up playground exercises on google, lots of good stuff with pictures. I know an 8 month old doesn't play at the park yet but he/she can watch from the stroller and will likely enjoy just being outside.

Agree with others, sugar not as big a deal as people make it out to be. Carb, protein and fat are way more meaningful.

I don't know the science behind it but it is good to change things up, I've heard this from others as well. I used to lose a little chunk of weight after taking a break for 3-4 days and then going back to restricting calories. I believe this is how some people break plateaus

Hi, I think you are doing fine. I have almost the same stats as you (age, kids, size) and eat the same if not less sometimes. I would eat more protein though, especially because you are lifting. You don't want to do all that hard work for nothing, protein feeds your muscles which is was is going to make you firmer and get…

hahahhaah, that happened to me too. -Log under Cardiovascular to add the calories burned, still called strength training - logging under Strength training is to track your progression :-)
