Weights are where it's at! Definitely give those a shot for at least a month and you will see results. Beware the scale might go UP at first as your body will be like, "Ah what is this?!" but things will settle down don't worry. And you will build muscle and burn fat! Like you, I lost 25lbs in 6 months ish and I am…

Thanks for the positive post and great tips. i also struggle with this (mood, energy, sleep, motivation) and reading these tips is helpful. :) Cheers!

A lot of people are just jealous and wish they had your willpower/determination/strength/motivation/etc to do the same. The people who are not supportive are most likely not putting your best interests in mind. As long as you are doing things the healthy way (ie exercising, not starving yourself etc) which it sounds like…

Welcome! Feel free to add me if you want for motivation. :) I know what you mean about boyfriends that can eat anything... so not fair, right? :) Well it kind of is, I guess, as he works out hard too and has a physical job. But anyway, just think of this time as the long-term, it really does have to be a lifestyle change…

3-5lbs a week is FRICKIN AMAZING! Although keep in mind the smaller you get, weight loss tends to go slower too, so don't get discouraged later on when you're not dropping that much in a week. Right now I'm lucky if I lose 1/4 pound a week! But that's ok, because progress is progress. :) As for working to near exhaustion,…

I joined awhile ago but started actually learning things about nutrition and fitness and trying to change my life on July 4th. In that time, I've lost 20 pounds in 3 months. May not seem like much to some, but it's a lot to me especially since I only workout a few days a week. Going with the thought of slow and steady wins…

Hi, 1200 seems low to begin with, but I don't know your stats (height, weight etc) so I can't say for sure. Also I'm not a doctor... Anyway in terms of exercise stuff. MyFitnessPal is setup so that you eat your exercise calories back, this is the way it was designed to work (and work it does!). The total number it tell you…

Goal of 100lbs for 5'7"? Way too low.

It's all about willpower. If you truly want to achieve your fitness goals, you will make healthy choices. That can include eating M&Ms or whatever if you have the calorie budget for it that day. Personally I like bringing something from home, like a granola bar, or just eating nothing and having a drink instead. I usually…

I am just going to stay true to my goals - workout, eat well and be happy! Yes, I plan on having turkey dinner just like I did on Thanksgiving (I am Canadian too :P) and it was fine. Just one plate, load up on the turkey and veggies, and not too much of the mashed potatoes... it's all good. I can eat whatever I want to in…

Wow that sounds amazing, I will have to try it! Thanks.

Good! That's the way to do it - earn it! :)

My goal is to lose 8 more pounds by then. :) Then I would only have 10lbs left.

Some of my favourite snacks are nuts, grapes, oranges, apples, toast and jam, protein powder mixed with milk (or water), a light salad, sugar snap peas (so crunchy like chips! mmm)... Hope that helps. I like to change it up too as I get bored of eating the same things. Oh and drinking lots of water helps you stay full for…

Just keep doing what you know worked for you last time - your body will catch up. :) You'll get there!

I just taught myself how to cook things and experimented with a lot of different foods to find new favourites and ways to cook things. I just go to the store, don't buy anything processed, and enjoy eating delicious real food. Pretty simple.

Yep, pretty much. I try to budget for it in my calories but who knows... I don't drink that much, maybe 1 or 2 nights per month, so I don't worry about it too much. Hasn't seemed to slow down my progress, moving along slow and steady just like I planned.

My boyfriend is very supportive. He eats about 50% healthy and 50% junk, but he has a very physical job and plays sports so he is still in top shape and honestly needs probably 4000 calories a day just to maintain. So yeah, he's going to splurge on dessert more than me and eat huge steaks. :) I have steak and dessert too…

Thanks for this thread - I do this too - record only the "new lows". I like the way you explained it too. Of course I plan to log every 3-4 weeks when I am on maintenance, whatever the number may be, so I know to adjust my calories up or down. Still got a ways to go before I worry about that part. :)

Thank you both for replying - I will definitely try taping, and also those stretches! Hope it works. :) Cheers!

Damn girl, I'm okay with genetic modification... if we could put those genes of yours in me so I could eat like that.

I am new to whey protein powder, but I love this one: http://well.ca/products/kaizen-naturals-100-new-zealand_33738.html Kaizen Dark Chocolate... tastes pretty good with milk, or water, yogurt and some berries!

Baked red snapper in balsamic vinegar and grape tomatoes, lightly spiced. With steamed carrots and red mini potatoes drizzled with more balsamic vinegar. BV addict right here.... :)

You can email them to request they carry your credit cards. This is from their FAQ: "What can I do if Mint.com does not support my bank? When you can't find your bank listed in search results in the add account process, you will see a link that says tell us about it. Please complete this form, and we'll submit a request to…

I huff and puff and sweat all over the place! But I already notice myself improving, so just stick with it, do as much as you can the best you can, and you will get better, stronger and lose weight/inches. My goal is always to just make it through the dvd. Sometimes I wish I could put more effort in for the exercises but…

Wow you look awesome!! Way to go especially with those negative comments around you - so not helpful! Good job staying strong. You will keep it off with that attitude! :)

Losing almost 2" in your waist in one month! Yowza that is good progress! :) Took me 4 months to lose 2" of mine. :) Keep it up, you are on the right track. Remember it's simple... eat good food in the right amounts and move more, that's all. You can do it!

That is so awesome!! CONGRATS! If it matters, whenever I see heavier set people out jogging or doing something else for exercise I think "Good for them" and admire them. I realize people might make fun of them - hell, I feel like people will make fun of me that way too sometimes cause I am not heavy, but jiggly! - and that…

I have the same thing with coworkers (mandatory going out for lunch every Friday - usually to pubs or other unhealthy restaurants). Everyone makes fun of me for picking a normal sandwich over a big greasy burger, or not ordering dessert or fries, etc. I've learned to just be firm and not respond to their negative comments.…
