  • Right now I am doing my exercise at home. I have some weights but do a lot of bodyweight stuff too, and pilates. Check out blogilates.com, I love her workouts. Feel free to add me - it can be hard to get motivation to work out at home so we can keep each other accountable. :)
  • Ummm just saying that your thighs are like my dream thighs... lol. I am still dealing with a cottage cheese situation and a Jell-O bounce (to the umpteenth degree) even after losing 28lbs and 5 inches off my waist (no inches from thighs), so I think you look great! Hope I get to where you are eventually!
  • Vancouver here!
  • A few of my fave websites: www.skinnytaste.com/ http://www.thegraciouspantry.com/ cleaneatingmag.com eatingwell.com http://proteinpow.com/
  • We all have these days - I do too! I recently had a 4 month plateau. Talk about discouraging! I went nutso! But, kept at it, and now I have blown past that plateau and am closer than ever to my goal - whee! It might feel like forever now but when you're almost at goal, you'll wonder "Where did the time (and fat) go?"…
  • Awesome, glad you liked it!! :D Your modifications sound good too, I will try it that way next time. And berries too... yum, I love berries. :)
  • Hi new friend! I'm no doctor but I don't think the outside temperature has much to do with calorie burn, sorry. Just make sure your heart rate gets up there and you're sweating and that's a good sign! I haven't used that site, but I also love workoutlabs.com and skimble.com for home workouts. As well as my new fave, which…
  • Just buy cheap stuff! I am still trying to find a pair of pants that fit... I haven't worn jeans in close to a year. My pear shape is even more pear-ey and my hip-waist ratio is so big I can't seem to stuff my butt into anything, or if I can then the waist is waaaay too big. But I'm not at goal yet so I don't want to…
  • Losing inches is awesome! That means you are totally on track! Keep up the good work and the scale will go down soon too! :)
  • Well I think you know the obvious answer that you do need to eat more calories... how much depends on height etc, but somewhere around AT LEAST 1300 - 1600 probably (again, depending on your activity and all that). However I do understand that recovering from surgery is tough and is clearly affecting your body. However…
  • I hear ya too! I have gotten a lot better with emotional eating but only because I am more stubborn (about getting to my goal) than anything! Haha. I still give in sometimes. Like just now, I ate a whole big chocolate bar (like a BIG one) which was a ton of calories. But you know what... I really wanted it. I craved it,…
  • I totally just ate an entire bag of Aero Bubble chocolate... whooooops. :) Don't worry. Obviously you don't want to make a habit of eating over your goal every day because, well, that's what causes weight gain (I mean eating above maintenance of course). But a few off days here and there are normal, and fine. I'd be more…
  • Walnuts (I like the 100 calorie packs from Planters - makes it easy to throw in my purse!) Cottage cheese and an apple/banana/crackers etc Quest Protein Bar Peanut butter on anything (or just by itself....) A slice of toast and jam or peanut butter Sugar snap peas Edamame Laughing Cow cheese wedge w/ crackers or half a…
  • I love this post. I guess it's too long to print on a t shirt. But really sums it all up. :)
  • Awesome work and great attitude!!! You are also super gorgeous! Keep up the great work in maintaining like you said. It goes on and on :) Cheers.
  • Hi friendo! I also totally recommend reading New Rules of Lifting for Women. Really made me understand about getting started lifting. There's workout plans and everything in there too, as well as knowledge about it. Read that and you're good to go! Once you've got the knowledge part down too, I recommend the app…
  • Bodybuilding.com is great for plans. I like WorkoutLabs.com too because they have predesigned ones which I used to find my fave exercises, and then you can put together your own plans with the exercises you like. I like to change mine up every so often too.
  • Hi! Awesome work so far! I am saving up to buy a Polar HRM too and can't wait until I can get it, I'm sure it will make my workouts a lot more accurate too. I am just finishing up Week 4 of the Couch 2 5K app today! I have noticed SUCH an improvement in my running ability since starting. A little background: I have…
  • I eat dessert every day after dinner! I just make sure I have calories left in the day to eat what I want. I am a chocoholic so it's usually half of an organic chocolate bar or something like that. I love the natural chocolate bars because they are still healthy for you and even MORE delicious than regular Cadbury, Mars,…
  • Okay, for starters, that's really rude of that woman to ask! Whether someone is underweight, healthy weight or overweight, like... why ask? What's it to her? That's just rude!! Also, good job not letting it affect you and just answering. Not that you have to of course but I mean it sounds like you handled it just fine. I…
  • Congrats!! I quit smoking and put on 25lbs in just a few months... I've lost it all now, but I'm going for even more to be in better shape! I'm training for my first 5K... it's pretty great training for a 5K when as a smoker, even walking up a flight of stairs used to make me winded. :) You can do it - stay smoke free and…
  • Such a change! Wow! Awesome work, keep it up!!! You can really see it in your waist and hips - great job!
  • I break mine down into mini goals to motivate myself. So before when my goal was pounds, for every 5 pounds I would buy myself something I really wanted - a new video game, a new outfit, some shoes, whatever I happened to want at the time, and I wouldn't buy it unless I reached my goal. :) Now my weight loss has slowed…
  • That's amazing for only 30 days!! Wow good work!
  • I agree - Quest bars are not only the tastiest protein bar (that I've tried - and I've tried MANY!), but they are also a great source of fibre. I am always over my goal on fibre, which I guess isn't a bad thing. :)
  • Congratulations! Clearly awesome work, so keep it up! :)
  • Hi, I'm 5'7" and 141 currently, looking to lose another 10 pounds. Add me if you want! :)
  • I love this post - so right on. Great way to think about it! :)
  • Willpower! I struggle with this too. When I resist, my coworkers sometimes make fun of me or say things like "oh right, you're on a diet" all snotty like when no, I'm not on an effing diet, it's called LIFE. Anyway. If I REALLY want something, I eat a sensible portion and log it and adjust my other food for the day. But it…
  • Fantastic work!!! And nice abs!! I am still hoping my abs reveal themselves one day.. haha... Great work in only 36 days wow. You should be proud.
