Interestingly, I hated having my photograph taken as it showed me what others see instead of what I saw in the mirror. Now I don't mind, because they're almost the same now.

Well, this is the most effective one I've come across. Knowing what you are eating and comparing it with what you use is really effective. There is a high degree of self control needed/desire and discipline. with that, you can get to your target weight pretty effectively. Welcome, and I hope this works for you also.

For me - Strong coffee reduces my appetite, along with hot foods (with chili). the other part of losing weight is that you have to build up self discipline. Ignoring hunger pangs trains your body to want less. much of the hunger may be a physiological thing, so training the brain is another element you need to deal with.

I'll eat what is called junk food now and again. I'm losing weight and I'm not dead. It's called 'moderation'....works for me.

BF is more important. If you exercise, you build up muscle. Muscle weighs more than fat, so when you exercise - logically - you weight goes up, and your BF drops. Sounds like a good outcome to me.
