  • Instead of juicing why not do smoothies- just put it in a good blender to really break down the veggies or fruits and still keep all the fiber in. It fills me up every time. I did the juicing after watching "Fat Sick and Nearly Dead." It didn't last and I put back the 12 lbs I lost in 3 weeks after going back to solids.…

  • How about DVDs? Insanity workout seems to be doing well. If you can't afford to buy them, there's always youtube :) Also, doing squats, lunges, push ups and crunches require only a floor. You can do them in your room. And instead of walking, you can take it up a notch and start running. good luck.

  • A friend of mine dragged me to a spin class at Equinox 3 years ago and I have loved it ever since. I swear after the first week of doing it 3 times, I actually felt my arm and leg muscles go lean (if there's a better description of the feeling I can't find it). I literally saw definition and I was addicted since then. Go…

  • Aloha Lei, Thank you for sharing this. I know how crazy it is to have life slip by and one day you're looking at yourself and realize you put on weight. It's going to be a great journey for you especially that you're juicing, eating clean AND exercising. That's a recipe for success. Best of well wishes on your journey, and…
  • I was wondering the same thing. I tried to encourage other friends to join MFP and they just talk about WW and how it's the same. I don't think you realize the difference until after you tried MFP- although I never tried WW, the point system would def throw me off. Thanks for the post!
  • I have the same problem with nibbling but I don't have kids, I do this while cooking. And not just taste testing- I go a little over and nibble a few bites. It's a terrible habit and I think being aware is the first step. It's up to me to stop myself before having a few more bites than needed before sitting down to a meal.
  • Amazing results, there are some great motivations thanks!
  • thanks for the share, good luck on your weightloss journey, the second time around :)
  • The majority of my food staples are not that expensive and are low calorie, nutritious and cheap. Oatmeal, tuna, sardines, eggs to name a few are found cheap in Aldi and IGA. Fruits and veggies can also be found for less money if you know where to shop. I'm not looking to buy organic or whatever the new food fad is.…

  • It's sad that as I'm looking for photos of my "junk" I don't seem to find too many. I think there are 4 pictures in total that shows my figure. The rest I either deleted or cropped off. I also don't know how to post pics so you'll just have to take my word for it and use imagination :) But kudos to some very voluptuous…
  • There are some friends who tell you the honest truth from a loving (I'm worried about you) perspective. Then there are others who say things out of malice, to make themselves feel better. Whatever it was, it was still quite rude that this is the first thing she had to say to you after years of not seeing each other. I'm…
  • Great topic! I have bigger hips than most average ladies so the movie theater arm chair thing is a huge one to achieve as well as fitting most chairs with arms. I avoid them like the plague, the most embarrassing thing is trying to sit in it and not having my hips fit. Glad to know I'm not the only one! lol Another one is…
  • I generally don't do cheat days but there are certain days where I don't go mental if I go over my caloric intake by more than 100. I expect that during the weekends I might be a little lax but I do try to counter that with a longer workout or adding one in if I go overboard.

  • amazing. what awesome results.
  • Just keep experimenting. I upped my cals from 1200 to 1500 and I've lost a little, I have about 100 lbs to loose so everyone's a bit different. If you're exercising a few days a week then it's better to eat more to refuel your body, but not to the point where you're eating back your calories. There's plenty of information…
  • I was thinner before so I already know what I'll look like. Regarding the hanging and loose skin, as long as you lose the weight slowly and properly, (eating lots of veggies helps with elasticity), moisturize your skin every day, tone your muscles by incorporating weights with your daily exercise and you should do fine.…
  • Interesting thread to read and follow pertaining caloric intake http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/919536-get-your-metabolic-rate-tested-my-metabolic-reset-story?hl=get+your+metabolic+rate+tested
  • I second this. I started with a 1200 calorie allowance but I'm trying to lose 100 lbs for one year. Two months in and I didn't see any significant change as I was exercising and following the 1200 max. Then I was reading a few message boards and found around 5 people (or more) all saying that they increased their allowance…

  • I'm back to my positive self, I'm making myself accountable to buring calories 4 or 5 times a week and not make any excuses. I'm fitting clothes better and I like the pain I get from working out :)
