Unfortunately, that number may continue to climb. Nearly half our deaths are from the same nursing home cluster. It's really sad, and scary for those with loved ones in these facilities.

I even looked at the date before responding, because it seemed familiar.

Perhaps a call to the cab company as a gentle reminder, since this has happened more than once.

This is how I feel about it too. When I've had someone pass (patient, not family), I do have a ritual when I get home to help with it. I will light a candle and spend a few moments thinking about that person and to thank them for the opportunity to care for them in those final days/hours and to wish them peace.
