  • Most local craft beers are on MFP any ways now though sometimes you have to tinker with the name to get it to come up (if you get the bottle you can scan the barcode, there have only been a handful of beers I couldnt find this way), but homebrewed beers the packets are also frequently available too.
  • This is going to sound weird, and I have never seen it recommended any where else before, but its totally working for me- Tea. I currently have on hand coconut macaroon rooibos, almond sugar cookie black tea, and chocolate caramel black tea from Simpson & Vail. I start getting a sugar craving and instead I make a cup of…
  • P90X3 is such a good workout and easily maintainable for my husband and I, we will probably just continue on repeat for the foreseeable future. Sometimes I will throw in Fitnessblender.com workouts just for a change, they've got EXCELLENT videos, and its free, and they're just fun and hard. Next cycle I will focus more on…
  • I didn't see where they made a claim regarding 500 average burn per workout? I did see a video where the test group did CVX with HRMS and they burned between 300-600 calories depending on the person. I would be interested to see what I burn, but I feel mostly dead at the end of each work out any ways. LOL. MMX destroys me.
  • 3 inches is awesome! Congratulations!
  • I keep track of "unassisted" and "assisted." I'm to the point where I can do half of the workouts or a set off of my knees. My tallies look like this when I write them down: standard pushup: 5u/6a military : 3u 7a etc. Then at the end of the workout I tally how many more unassisted moves I did than the week before, how…
  • http://www.womenshealthmag.com/fitness/how-much-weight-should-i-lift I think this is a great article. I think switching to classic might be a good choice for you. Cardio is great, and those videos are fun, but weight lifting can really boost you to get off that plateau. The more muscle you have = greater metabolism =…
  • I don't have Twitter, but I see most of what he posts through my friends on Facebook. I adore him.
  • I should have added that I'm very thankful that P90X3 came out at the same time as girl scout cookies <weakness> and a lot of my favorite seasonal craft beers.
  • When I was eating at a large deficit I would totally bonk during workouts. I started eating just a bit of oatmeal or peanut butter before workouts when that was happening/
  • 42! 1. I'm a huge nerd. I play Warmachine (miniatures), World of Warcraft, and I have a life size cutout of Capt Jean-Luc Picard. 2. I read over 100 books a year, usually. I have read Treasure Island literally every year since I was 12. 3. I think I would do well as a hermit in a forest. I bowhunt, and I love nothing more…
  • If you are sick its important to nurse yourself back to health first. I don't work out when I'm seriously ill, I think its counterproductive. I've had a cold for the last week so I still do P90X, but if I have a fever or anything else, I don't do it. I might take a walk or do yoga instead, or nothing. Sleep a lot!
  • beeblebrox, any relation to Zaphod? :D
  • I meant doing P90X for two years. I saw people post the same thing about that program too. :)
  • I absolutely agree Redheadmommy, but I see a lot of people on this forum say "Its been four weeks..." and its important to not get discouraged, but have the correct mindset. Ive been doing this for TWO YEARS, and I still modify some movements, its just important for people to be realistic about their goals, capabilities,…
  • Today was actually my very first triometrics day! I really love these thigh workouts though, because I always reach muscle failure, but I feel so strong while I'm doing it. I just feel my body adjusting into the way I'd like to look: Capable and Curvy. I feel like a beast after squat jumps, which is a total success story:…
  • I think its also important for people to also honestly ask themselves why they think P90X3 isn't working? Is switching programs, diets, a lead up to quitting? procrastinating? stalling? Are you just making an excuse? "Oh, it wasn't doing what I wanted, I need to find something else," how many weeks do you just sit there…
  • Absolutely excellent. GET SOME!
  • Just remember, the muscles revs up your metabolism. You won't get the chub off without the muscle base. You WILL get there. Somebody posted an excellent article from Ms. Cha-lean about how (especially for females) gaining weight during a new workout regimen is normal. Its definitely something I have experienced…
  • Pick up where you left off. Do not skip yoga. Yoga is a vital part of the program that really does help prevent injury. Double if you have the time, or since this is a new work out, think you can handle the strain. Its important to push hard, but not to injure yourself, since then you'll just miss more days :D That said,…
  • Wow. If you are combining p90X3 and T25 regularly, I would definitely make sure you are taking in enough calories! Still experiment, for sure, to find where you want to be, but don't forsake your muscles to be a certain size!
  • I meant in one workout. You need to break a heart rate of 180+ to reach anaerobic exercise. I was mostly saying that if you are doing this for weightloss, don't shy away from the "cardio" workouts, because they're not pure cardio, they're mostly HIIT, and will be the best for your metabolism.…
  • Some days you're just off. Hope you aren't coming down with anything. The norovirus is in our small town high schools here, so I'm avoiding everyone I know with children. Ick!
  • I am 150 pounds, 5'4'' female, and I eat right about 2000 (mostly clean) calories and I'm full, building muscle, and losing fat. For a male, I would definitely think that if you wanted to support muscle gain you should be eating more, but if you don't think you are seeing the results that you want its quite possible that…
  • As Tony says "Do your best and forget the rest" Don't let it discourage you, pullups are literally one of the hardest movements out there, think of your gains in all areas. Maybe you can do more with the chair, or with the band, then you could the week before. THATS whats important. So long as there is improvement and you…
  • Combining Aerobic with anaerobic exercises is the single fastest way to lose weight. Not only do you burn a ton of calories during the workout, but they've found that it increases metabolism rates for up to 8 hours after the workout. You are literally burning more calories, all day, while resting after HIIT, Tabata, or…
  • I lost four pounds and then gain five pounds. My core is MUUUUUCH stronger though, I can see that the shape has changed on my back and stomach. I'm not too worried about it. The less you have to lose, frequently, the less drastic your results, and the harder you have to work. But that's part of the fun :D
  • I have court shoes. I went to an athletic shoe store and asked for their best "all around" shoes. When I used to do Krav Maga I realized running shoes were just about the worst. They only give you stabilization for forward movement, they can actually weaken your muscle (ankle) rotation on side-to-side movements, making…
  • Also, if it makes you feel better- I lost four pounds, then gained five, I still have a layer of fat on my tummy, but I can feel my core strengthening there. I need to change my diet to get the fat off, but the muscle is building, my metabolism is increasing. Your body is a machine, and working out changes soooo many…
  • Don't let numbers discourage you, because they don't actually say anything about you. How do you feel? Do you feel stronger? More energetic? More capable? If the answer is yes, let the rest follow eventually. Remember, muscle is denser then fat, but the scale isn't reflecting that. Measurements might. You might have to…
