I made it for dinner tonight (over brown rice) and it was DELICIOUS!! Thanks so much for sharing the recipe. I look forward to having leftovers tomorrow. :)

My favorite combination is 1/2 oatmeal with 1 cup water cooked on the stove top. After it boils, I add cinnamon, 1/2 banana and some frozen blueberries or raspberries and I cook it on medium heat for another several minutes. After it's cooked, I may add some peanut butter, too. YUM!

BUMP!! This will be my dinner tonight. Thanks so much for posting!

Haha, thanks for that! :) I can't wait to start training for a half-marathon... whenever this weather finally gets a little better.

It was 24:10 for me. This was surprising to me, because my training times were more in the 27-28 minute range. The first race is so much fun and totally exhilarating, so enjoy yourself and have fun!

I am a vegetarian and one of my favorite dishes is a very simple red lentil salad. Combine a cup of cooked red lentils with fresh cherry tomatoes, cucumber, green onions and crumbled goat cheese for a very tasty salad (you can use feta cheese if you like that better). Depending of what I have available, I might add chopped…

I have been using Basic Yoga Workout for Dummies DVD with Sara Ivanhoe (I found in a used bookstore for less than $4). I LOVE this DVD and have been using it for several weeks. She does a great job taking time to teach the poses, including modifications for different levels of fitness and flexibility. I plan to look for…

Quinoa is a complete protein, i.e., it has all 9 essential amino acids that your body needs in one food.

I made the following recipe and I really liked it: In a medium-size bowl mix together the following ingredients: 1 cup of peanut butter (or any other nut butter) 1-3 scoops of protein powder (whey chocolate :) 1/2 cup of old fashioned rolled oats (optional) 1/2-1 cup of milk (I like vanilla soy or coconut but any milk will…

I made my own (no bake!) protein bars last weekend and they are without a doubt the best protein bars I have ever had. The advantage of making your own is that you can control the quality of the ingredients you put in them. There are hundreds of EASY no-bake recipes online. If I have to get something from the store,…

One of my favorite dinners is to make a plate full of roasted vegetables (e.g., sweet potato, mushrooms, bell pepper, zucchini, onion, etc.) that I then dip in Greek yogurt. Delicious!

I personally don't agree with eating whatever you want just as long as it fits into your calorie goals. Good nutrition is not just about calories and the quality of the food that you consume is very important for your overall health. My suggestion would be to try to switch from white bread to whole grain breads or some…

Wow, what an amazing transformation!! You look great :) Congrats to you and your partner!

I also struggle with this issue. I have really bad PMS and I am usually in a lot of pain for the first two-three days. I choose to not force myself to exercise on those days. I hate the miserable feeling and I am just trying to go about the rest of my life the best way I can. I don't feel guilty about the lack of exercise…

Thanks for sharing this great recipe. I am definitely going to make these!

I love breakfast quinoa! I cook mine in soy milk (vanilla) instead of water. When it's done I add cinnamon or pumpkin spice mix and mixed berries (fresh organic strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries). Yum!

Definitely the blue one! I agree that pink is distracting. You look great!! Congrats on your progress :)

Sounds delicious! I put protein powder in my smoothies but I never thought about adding to oatmeal. Thanks for a great idea!
