I'm currently doing the doyouyoga 30 day challenge. They send you a new workout each day, about 15 min long and I'm finding them really good :)

    in for some ideas :)
  • I think that it is really easy to do yoga wrong, and that beginners should always start in classes. I understand the strong desire to workout from home, but untrained you could accidentally cause an injury.

I have been using Basic Yoga Workout for Dummies DVD with Sara Ivanhoe (I found in a used bookstore for less than $4). I LOVE this DVD and have been using it for several weeks. She does a great job taking time to teach the poses, including modifications for different levels of fitness and flexibility. I plan to look for more of her DVDs after I am done with this one.
Good luck finding the right program for you!

Bump :)....just started looking at the stretching and toning on you tube.....If I tried going to a class in my home town I'd never get a chance to try it. Been wanting to try it out for years so You Tube a bonus :)

I started doyouyoga as well, I really like the instructor, none of the spiritual mumbo jumbo that used to put me off yoga classes!

I bought the GIAM (?) DVD from Rebel Sport. Did it once but it's just not my cup of tea (I'm a coffee drinker).. Also tried a yoga class at the gym and I was watching the clock the entire time.

Good luck!! I think it's one of those things that if you don't love it, you have to persevere for a while until you get into the groove.
