Curious to know what the scale said today? OP? Hello?
-
You get bulky? That's odd. Have you tried body-weight exercises? Every heard of the TRX?
-
Spin pins are awesome, but I find they really hurt when doing mat work. I guess if you put your hair in a very high bun it would be fine.

Yes, make a pony first, then braid it. It keeps the shorter pieces in much better. Also, use the thick silicone elastics, at least for the ponytail braid. They don't slide at all. Although you do have to be careful when removing them so you don't rip hair out.

OP, your prior thread was from August, 7 months ago. Imagine where you would be today if you'd heeded previous advice. Are you in a good mental place to be able to put in the work now?

NO! No bananas! Haven't you seen that pop-up add that says "never eat these things if you want to lose weight!" with a big picture of a banana?!?! It pops up on my feed all the time so I no longer eat bananas. Sorry....that was just my sarcasm kicking in. I forgot it's not Friday. Carry on

Well then....this is about to get interesting.

Sounds like you might be getting a bit obsessive. Chances are your weight might naturally fluctuate half a pound by tomorrow anyways. Watch your sodium intake, drink water, and weigh in the morning if you can (preferably after a BM). That's all I've got.

No. 200 cals of wine make me much happier than 200 cals of carrots. Ergo, not the same. You're welcome.

Ahhh, armpit ponytail. Long-hair problems :) I use silicone hair elastics from Scunci (not the thin crappy ones). They are basically like a regular hair elastic but made of silicone. I put my hair in a high pony with one elastic, then use another one to put it into a bun. Then I use a headband from SparklySoul (they don't…

I would assume it does not include the skin, since you don't eat that part.

Since you have your diary set to private, it's hard to say. I would suggest having a look at your protein and fat intake which will help you to feel fuller for longer.

How long after you drink the smoothie do you experience the pain? If it's right away, I would guess it's an allergy to one of your ingredients (for me, raspberries will have me in agonizing pain within 5 minutes). If it's not immediate, I would suggest it's the increased fibre content. Dial back the fibre a bit and…

Depends. While I was losing weight, I aimed to "eat back" about 50% of my calories burned which seems to be fairly common around here. The rationale is that you are fueling your body for activity, while also accounting for a margin of error in calculating calorie burn. Now that I'm maintaining, I generally eat back 75% or…

Fantastic post!

There are some red flags here. I think it would be valuable for you to speak to someone about the emotional part of your weight loss journey and the binge cycle you describe. Losing weight is a mental game, you need to get your head right if you're going to approach it in a healthy manner.

Ah yes, the old bulletproof coffee. Fat-burning magical properties or some such nonsense. I might try it if I'm backed up and need to get things moving, but otherwise it just sounds like an abomination.
-
Yes I get disappointed. What's the point of setting goals if there's not a consequence to failure? If I miss a goal, I chalk it up to a learning experience, adjust my approach, and make another run at it.

IMO, people get hung up on the term "processed" and thereby equate convenience foods to being bad because they're not "clean" or whatever the latest buzzword is. It's really quite simple - if it fits in your calorie allotment, go for it. Unless of course you have a health issue with sodium, nitrates, etc which are often…

Sorry you're going through this. You have some decisions to make.

Make sure you have proper shoes and don't up your mileage too quickly.

Not sure how helpful that calculation is unless you're elite. I'd be more concerned about composition rather than actual weight.

300 people? Wow! You must be at Diamond level or something! Or is it Sapphire? Wait, sorry, wrong MLM.

Totally depends on your individual needs. Everyone is different. Go to a running store and get fitted properly. As an example, I know a ton of people who swear by Nike Free, but they do nothing for me. Spend the time and money to get fitted, you won't regret it.

I clicked on this thread fully expecting it to be a dumpster fire. Pleasantly surprised. Great discussion.

If you're getting into longer distances, you'll want to go with higher quality stuff with flat seams, which unfortunately, will cost you more. Unless you're lucky and get exactly what you need, in your size, on the clearance rack. I rarely have that kind of luck. Bonus though, generally the higher quality stuff lasts a…

+1 sales racks are a great place to check out as for running shoes, don't cheap out. If you're going to spend money on something, get good shoes that are property fitted for you
-
This is a new one. You don't burn more calories but you do need to make sure you're hydrating properly.

And there's the issue right there. Start weighing and measuring everything and give it a couple more weeks.
