@ micki48 your photos are gorgeous!! @lauren_989 may I please skip weigh in this week? I am retaining fluid like no-one's business between the run and the toe surgery!!

Hi and welcome. The best way to 'meet' people on here is to put a little bit of effort into your messages, tell us a bit about yourself, your reason for being here, your goals etc. One word posts don't really get you very far - think of it like walking into a room full of new people you hope to meet.

On desktop you can enter as many servings as you want. I generally weigh the finished product then divide by 10 or 100 (depending on size) and put that many servings. Ie soup - I'll make 3470g of soup, set it as 347 serves, put (per 10g) in the recipe title so I know, then weigh out what I serve myself (say 250g) and log…

@lauren_989 hills but not mountains! It was out in wine country, so lots of pretty views, and one 5km section of national park with true trails. You're so right, the injections were soooo painful! Recovery has been fine though, so I can't complain too much :)

Jammy eggs with roasted pumpkin and sauteed garlic kale, topped with cumin and sumac yogurt.

Hey all, sneaking back in at the tail end of July :) I did another 25km walk/hike/run over the weekend, I came in at 3 hours 22 minutes, it was raining, blowing a gale and 11c/51f - bit different to the last one!! I wasn't super motivated this time, but I got it done and I am super proud! This weeks steps will be light on…

^^this. The ability to track it is of little use if the information to track isn't really available. Labels don't carry that info.
-
It's not that the program is flawed, it's that the database is largely user added, and until reasonably recently potassium was not required on US labels, and still isn't required on most other countries' labels, so there was nowhere to enter that info from. Plus, people tend to enter the information that is relevant to…

So just an update, I'm doing my second 25km trail run this Saturday! It's going to be 11c (51f), raining and windy, so it's going to be a new experience LOL.
-
I think the big issue is sourcing the information to record in the first place - vitamin k is not required to be on food labels, so the vast majority of entries in the database simply won't have that information available.

PW: 81.5 CW: 80.7 I've been hovering for quite a while, but honestly, given everything, maintaining is just as much a victory as losing. I also think that mentally, this was actually my goal weight for so long (40+kg ago I couldn't imagine being smaller than this) and so there's some mental revising going on too. 25km…

Good job on going for the cashews and for overall staying the course! Those are the victories that see us win the war. I'm having a rough time and I'm battling the urge to slide back into binges. Today I got close - I bought a 5 pack of lemon slices and a 5 box of Fiber One brownies and honestly, I expected to scoff the…

@MaddawgMadsen I feel your feels, I was disappointed in my weigh in but when I looked at what I was doing, it made sense. Just slips here and there, having been sick, having that glass of wine, or beer… And I'm posting for accountability - I have been sliding towards binging, and today I went to the store and deliberately…

Well, actually, this is an international site, and not all nations' labelling requirements are the same :) I've been reading labels for a lot of years.

OK, I'm not going to say "I'm skipping weigh in this week because I've been away for work". I'm going to own up. PW: 80.3 CW: 81.5 Hoping some of it is bloat, knowing that yesterday especially was allllll bad decisions. I'm still getting over this cold, and I found travelling for work extremely stressful this time about. I…

I rarely see potassium listed on food labels, a lot of the time the information is not at hand to be entered when creating a food.

Have you been recording any losses by updating your current weight? The 5 week prediction is just a gimmick, to be honest. Have you been losing weight over that time?
-
It's taken me a long time to really admit that I have a huge problem with sugar and once I start I can't stop til it's gone, even if I don't actually like what I'm eating, even if it is making me feel sick. It's just part of my make-up, so I have to abstain.

That's not a feature of MFP, sorry. Not unless you create a group and manually create and update the leader board.

Genetics, mostly.

Gonna wanna use a perspex cage, lightning and metal are no bueno. Some probiotics might help with the 'thunder'.

PW: 80.5 CW: 80.3 Thank you so much for the support, everyone. It really does mean so much. I'm still blah, and I keep starting off my days well and then going off track. I bought a 5 pack of choc chunk cookies today, ate 1, didn't enjoy it, ate another one anyway, BUT then I threw the other 3 in the outside bin so that's…

Group classes? Or small group Personal Trainer sessions?

My favourite tip for breakfast is to remember that the idea of "breakfast food" is a total construct. It's just the first meal of the day, eat what suits you and your goals. It doesn't have to be eggs, cereal, oats etc. Generally, I have soup. It's warming, filling, comforting, easy to heat and go, so low effort, there's…

Craig is on the money! I yo-yoed for many, many years, trying this diet and that, having great success "dieting" and then piling it back on because I "went off the diet". The truth is, the changes that you make to lose weight need to be permanent. Sure, you get to tweak once you're in maintenance to stay there, you get to…

I can gain 5-6lbs in water weight when I lift weights, because muscles retain fluid for repair. The more sore I am, the higher the scale, but I don't need to be sore for it to come up. It's temporary. Also fluctuations happen because of hormones, weather, sleep, inflammation, digestion, types of food, just because. Bodies…

If you created a recipe with the total of all the ingredients used, made 7 bites, and inputted that there were 7 serves in the recipe, you would log that you ate 4 servings if you ate 4 of the bites. 0.45 serves would indicate that you ate just under half of one bite.

Agreed. Gardening, general is soooo vague. And the calorie burn is pretty high, I garden a fair bit and I know I'm not burning anything like what I burn in an hour of treading water with moderate effort, but it says it's the same:

It is. But be wary of eating back calories from something that might be an every day thing, calorie counts for exercise are often over-estimated.
