This a good message for people who feel like they need to quit because they are not at peak performance. We should all strive for excellence, but we will fall short, but if we get another day or minute to try again, we should try. Thanks for the encouragement. January was tough for me...

I can understand where your friend is coming from, and when I posted my first reply, I had to stop and think a second. I have been in enough sexual relationships to know that committment is a big deal, and that people change from day 1 of the marriage. 7 years ago, it was good, there were no concerns of this person having…

OP, I agree with you. Marriage is something that for enough people, has been taken lightly. But truth is, many people don't value marriage the way I believe it should be valued in God's eyes. People have eyes for another, even if they don't get sexually intimate. The facebook relationship, outside phone calls. I know - I…

It's amazing. When you come out and mention a problem, it's cool to see how many other people relate. I've experienced that too, mainly on the elliptical. I attributed it to standing in one place and moving at the same time. So, when I feel that numbing coming on, I will just shake my foot out a bit or re-position my foot…

Pictures was a big motivator for me. Before i got serious about changing the way I was living, I took pictures and I was at 238 pounds. But see, 238 was better than 262, which was my heaviest during my adult life. But those pictures, especially looking at it from the backview, was an eye opener and the choice was made…

That looks more than 33 pounds lost! It fell off of you well :-). Congrats.

I thik you are doing well and I'm glad you are excited about your achievements.

I like it!

yep and the 8 pounds can be water retention if you ate out, it could be salt. Also, I only weigh myself once a month. Those daily/weekly weigh ins are stressful..

Bless your heart! I understand....All i can tell you is to not give up. Fat loss is SO important, but your body is benefiting in SO many other ways by the better choices that you are making. I had a moment earlier this week, and this lady how to bring me back to an imporant reality: our heart, lungs, and liver are much…

Oh wow, LOL...well, congrats are in order?? :-)

I have felt this tinge in a couple of places. One lady said it's because the fat that was blocking some vital areas is now gone. I thought it was just because I haven't had any in a while! LOL. But I am feeling better. Not throught he roof. But that's a good thing since I don't have a mate at this time. :-) But I am…

Congrats on your work. I like your story b/c you said you kept it simple; you knew you had to cut calories, but realize a hamburger will not set you back. Sounds like you changed your life to a way that is maintainable after the fat loss (Kinect, sports, trampoline - hey, I want want too and I'm 29...getting one when I get…

And making relatively good choices on the vacation (eating a little bit of everything, not a lot of one thing; daily exercise, at least 30 min) will help you to come back home and not have a hard time getting back into your groove. I notice that when I take a break on good choices (with or without vacation), it's hard to…

My opinion: don't focus on calories, but don't binge out just because you can. Like, if you were home, would you make good choices? Then do it while you are on vacation. you don't have to stay away from certain foods, but don't just keep eating because it's there. But enjoy yourself..find that balance between fun and…

I haven't given up fast food, but I do eat at home more. And when i do eat fast food, I (usually) make be best choices. For example, I visited Chik Fila and McDonalds, so I ordered the Salads. Stuff like that. i realize that I live in this fast paced world, and sometimes I will need to pick up something quick when I am…

Smile, I'm still learning too and you may have already been given the correct advice, but I will give you a suggestion: If your daily calorie intake (what you eat an drink) is 1500 calories, and you go and exercise and burn 500 calories; you don't want to eat back all 500 calories, but you do want to eat something if you…

Bless your heart! Feel free to add me too. Just click on my profile, and click 'add friend.' I know of exercises that you may be able to do that will help not put so much pressure on your feet and joints...I'm glad you are still here to be given the opportunity to take care of yourself; you are right - many of us do take…

You can add me too. My over all goal is 75-100 pounds total fat loss; as of Dec 1st 2012, I am already down 25 pounds :-)

I will say this, you can enjoy a glass of wine every night, but if you are working on fat loss, then you will need to up the calories in exercise to keep a deficit. If a glass of wine is 300 calories, then going out for an extra 30-45 minutes of exercises will keep you on point. If you don't want to up the exercise and…

What I dislike most about carrying a lot of fat is: People thinking I am CLUELESS about health and fitness just because I don't look the part
-
That sounds tasty!

Well said in my opinion....I agree that it can be any size. I've seen size 2 curvy and too cute, as I've seen size 24 curvy and ROCK it!!! Curvy is different from bumpy or lumpy...but that's another convo for another day

Results are individually based - some people have skin that can take a lot of stretching without stretching out permanently; others, just a little of bit of stretching will cause skin that won't do anything to snap back. Drinking a lot of water is something I have heard of too. My mom, she is 51 now, but about 6 years ago,…

I wear dreadlocks. But I could stand to wash my hair every other day when exercising. But to answer your question, it may be good to put it in large plaits, and put a sweatband around your head. With the parts in your hair (for the plaits), that will help any sweat to not accumulate in your hair b/c of the air available :-)…

Exactly! As I post on my wall, people say 'don't quit, keep going.' And I say 'I'M NOT QUITTING!!! Just being honest about my ups and downs. If we try to hide (by not logging) the unhealthy choices, then we will have a harder time of acknowledging where we need help...
