The weight loss number I plugged into MFP is pretty arbitrary. The defining moment for me will be when my stomach is flat. It's been a loooonnnngg time.

I guess Plexgut types faster than I do.

Based on the 4 Grand Rolls I'm going to say 4 servings.

If you're not failing until your 4th or 5th set you might consider going from 5x5 to 3x5.

Mehdi of Strong Lifts recommends that you deload after failing to complete reps 3 times. That's 3 sessions of a specific exercise rather than 3 sets in a row. Take 20% off the weight and work your way back up again.

This link offers excellent tips and advice for the Dead Lift as well as other compound lifting exercises. It is based on Mark Rippetoe's Starting Strength program and includes links to videos. Even though I am doing Strong Lifts I have found this to be a valuable resource.…

For a healthier option you could also make your own nutella. http://thefoodsite.net/2012/03/healthy-homemade-nutella/

What struck me odd about mine is not so much the scoop thing but that it states one serving is 28.4 grams. .4???!!!! Who has a scale that measures in 1/10th increments? If everybody here does have one I'm going to be very embarrased.

The average Haas avocado I buy weighs between 4-5 ozs without the skin and pit. That's 200-250 calories. Use that in a salad with a minimal amount of olive oil & lemon and you still have a meal with only 300-400 calories.

Mark Rippetoe has a program for beginners called Starting Strength that is well thought of. This link will take you to a website that compares both. http://spotmebro.com/starting-strength-vs-stronglifts-5x5/

I'll just toss in my 2 cents on the importance of weighing, measuring and tracking. On 4/2/12 I quit smoking and one week later joined a gym and began working out. I also made some adjustments in my food choices realizing that although weight gain after quiting might be inevitable I might be able to control it. From April…

In Mehdi's workout video he does one set with just the bar, one with 90 lbs and then loads on the working weight of 135 lbs. As a suggestion, you could do justg the bar, 60 lbs and then 90.

Absolutely! I double check all data with the package if I have one. For everything else I check with sites like livestrong and nuitritiondata to ensure accuracy.

Try psyllium husk. I used to go 4-5 days without going until I started taking psyllium husk fiber. Now I'm regular pretty much every day.

I have a pretty expensive double breasted suit that I bought 10-12 years ago. It was a little snug then because I planned to lost weight. Oops! :embarassed: When I can fit comfortably in that then I will have probably acheived my goal, namely, a flat stomach.

I have this same recipe and it makes wonderful soft boiled eggs. It is very important to make sure the water is boiling before adding the eggs. This ensures that the whites will be firm and cooked through leaving the yolks warm and runny.

I like Dannon Oikos non fat greek yoghurt. You need to stir it up as it tends to separate a bit. I eat it because it has fewer carbohydrates than regular yoghurt.

Somebody posted this recipe for ranch dressing on a different thread. It's very tasty, low cal and thin enough to use in this recipe. 1 cup buttermilk (1%) ½ cup plain Greek yogurt (2%) ½ tsp onion power ½ tsp dried chives ½ tsp dried dill ½ tsp dried parsley flakes Salt/pepper to taste A few drops of worcestershire sauce

This rub tastes great on chicken, beef or pork. Keep it sealed up in a tupperware or rubbermaid container and it lasts forever. 1 cup sugar 1⁄4 cup seasoned salt, such as Lawry's 1⁄4 cup garlic salt 1⁄4 cup celery salt 1⁄4 cup onion salt 1⁄2 cup paprika 3 tbsp. chili powder 2 tbsp. freshly ground black pepper 1 tbsp. lemon…

Mashed cauliflower. I just tried this last night and it came out great. There is no recipe so amounts are a guesstimate. Steam a medium size head of cauliflower until tender and drain. Mash & blend in 2-3 ozs, of mascarpone cheese & about 1 oz. of parmegiano reggiano. Feel free to play around with the amounts to get the…
