I'm a firm believer that "dying with dignity" should be available to anyone with a terminal disease (who requests it). I lost my father to cancer at the age of 44 (I was 14 at the time), and watch him suffer for 5 years before it finally got the best of him. While I have deeply admired his courage in fighting this…

Giants fan, and pretty UNDERWHELMED with picking up ANOTHER wide-receiver (Odell Beckham Jr.), particularly when we're in DESPERATE need of help on the offensive line :noway: :grumble:

Same here. Was stationed in Japan for nearly 3 years.....and loved it.....but Lost in Translation just never resonated with me. Slow, plodding, and without any perceptible "depth" (if you ask me).....

I typically tend to avoid those movies which tout themselves as "critically acclaimed", which....to me....translates to "garbage". Here are just a few, and In no particular order: - Thin Red Line --> How can an "ensemble cast" get roped into such poo? Dragged on INTERMINABLY! - Lost in Translation --> Waaaay to slow, and…

THIS!!! Have NEVER found ANYTHING by Tarantino to be entertaining, Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs in particular. His big schtick was taking the movies, breaking them down into segments, and jumbling up the chronological orders. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ :noway: :grumble:

Currently reading "Sole Survivor", and listening to "Service: A Navy SEAL at War".....both by Marcus Luttrell.

If anyone is silly/stupid enough to break into my house, and actually make it past my two mutts (a rottie and a shepherd), they'll find me waiting at the top of the steps with these: Glock Model 23/Gen 4 (.40) Ruger "Security Six" (.357) And, no, the shots won't be to wound.....I'll be aiming for center-mass.

I'm actually getting ready to have my hip scoped (for a torn labrum) on Tuesday (11 March). Hope your recovery has improved over the recent weeks, and would love to pick your brain on "lessons learned" (if you're amenable)? Thanks!

Yup.....my great-grandmother was one of the few from 3rd class to survive. She and her infant son (my great uncle) were rescued by the Carpathia, and my grandmother was born in Norfolk, Virginia the following year. My family's one small claim to fame..... http://www.encyclopedia-titanica.org/titanic-survivor/leah-aks.html

As the great-grandson of a Titanic survivor, I'd have to say I've seen the movie a couple times.....

I don't ask my woman to do much in the way of "artistry", and can't stand the pre-pubescent look :noway: :noway: . Concurrently, I roll with what I was given, and no sharp implement is getting anywhere near any of my functioning parts. :noway: :noway:

Secret squirrel. Don't ask, I'd have to kill you.....

Thanks for the great ideas. I, too, suffer from back/hip problems, and am unable to do "conventional" glute/lower body strengthening. Will be heading for hip surgery (arthroscopy) in a little under a month, and will use some of these as ideas for pre-hab and post-procedure re-hab (as tolerated). :drinker:

Even though I'm a big fan of the show, have to say to say I found tonight's episode somewhat underwhelming. Understand they have to deal with the party's scattering, and are focusing on some character development/backstory, but it just didn't grab me. Worse, I get the feeling that the next XX number of episodes will be…

I was given the name Tatonka back in college, when I pledged a fraternity. The brothers had been watching "Dances with Wolves" for weeks beforehand, and were DETERMINED to give it to someone in the new group of pledges. I wound up being the "lucky" one, and had to run around making horns with my fingers and saying…

Lived: - US o Maryland o Virginia o Florida o North Carolina o California o Puerto Rico - UK o Cambridge area - Japan o Yokosuka (just south of Yokohama) Traveled: - Canada - Mexico…

Been to 40 countries, thanks to nearly 17 years in the Navy. Too many to list, off the top of my head, but it includes most of Europe (having been stationed in the UK), and a great deal of Southeast Asia (having been stationed on a ship homeported in Japan). Still MANY more places to see. Partial bucket-list: Egypt…
