Whoa! Looking good!!!

I think the concept of 5:2 is interesting! If I don't see some progress on my current plan I will definitely look into it. You look so good! But you have to tell us what is going on with that t-shirt you are wearing on the right!

Hi Purple Polka, Slim Fast has never ever helped me. Every time I used one, I needed to eat an actual meal almost immediately after. :( For a while, try just logging everything you eat. Tell yourself you don't have to change what you eat, (although you will if you know you have to be accountable for it) Once you…

I think I understand what you are saying, MoreBean. I have been warned against increasing mileage too quickly, but I didn't realize it had so much to do with the joints. This is good - it means I can still run and increase my mileage according to plan and count the hike as non-running miles. Great, thanks!

     I got sucked into the hype, I am not lying! Yes I pooped. Yes I lost a few pounds. Yes it came back pretty quickly. Oh, I got a really fun UTI to ice the cake. :noway: Good luck! I know I won't do it again.

My husband and I are doing this together! We have our food diaries open and we support each other. We both have weight to lose. It's hard when he loses faster than I do, but I know he is here to support me all the way. However, I am not telling anyone outside of our household.

Hey Angie, we all go through times when we lose the motivation. Sorry about the separation. I have been there too and it is hard, but at the end of all of it you want to look at your mirror and see a healthy woman who takes care of herself. Take a deep breath and do the workout and log the food....you got this girl!…

:flowerforyou: Hi everyone! Well, if you have read posts in other threads you know I am training to run a 5K in Richmond in September. I started running 6 weeks ago by basically shuffling along for a mile. I can jog 3 miles now, but it takes me an hour. At least I can keep going consecutive miles! So my challenge is, and…
-
My goal is to increase my mileage by 10% each week. The week before last I jogged 10 miles, last week 11, and this week 12. So far I have gone 6 miles this week so 12 looks totally in sight. I have a few aches and pains and my left knee wanted to give up during my run today, but I powered through. It is so much easier to…

I have read about methods called "calorie confusion" and "calorie spiking" to control leptin. Read up on those and let me know if you have any success there. Good luck!

Woo hooo! I learned something today, though. I had to run in the afternoon instead of morning. It was ok because it wasn't that hot, but I did not drink enough water during the day and ended up burning out right after my 1st mile. I will hydrate better and try to start making it up tomorrow. I need to do a total of 12…

I remember feeling rather invincible in college. I was smart, young, fit, had plenty of friends and always on the go. I would like to think back to those times. Those years were fabulous. I am having trouble with finding an exercise I hate just because I am so focused on training for a 5K in Sept. For me, I am increasing…

Good morning everyone, I can't find a tape measure...I used to have one around here! I am a size 16 (I was creeping up on 18) and this morning weighed in at 211.4....which is up a couple of pounds since my last weigh in. Damn sodium and weight fluctuations. Nevertheless I am undaunted. I have had a great week and I need to…

Wow this is great - so many motivated people! hollaine, congrats on 20 lb lost forever! That is huge! Stephanie get on board - we can do this! cbmarie, I have worked on visualizing as well and it has helped me get started and get running again! Sharon, sorry about the leveling off but we will get through it! There are…

Happy to take on the pre challenge. I will weigh in, measure and perform my victory dance for the kids! HA HA I am Christy, 44 yr old mom and math teacher. I have recently started running again. Looking forward to getting to know all of you!

I guess you should make sure the two of you are connecting. A person's relationship with food/wine shouldn't affect their relationships with people! But you don't want to seem insecure so be careful.
-
You can add me!

I just turned 44. THANK you for the inspiration!

Raspberry or Cranberry Stoli, club soda, twist of lime. Less than 100 cals. Enjoy responsibly!

bump for spreadsheet link
-
Thanks for the link, Ice. Makes much more sense now. Now to figure out how to change the goal cals in MFP.
-
Yeah I read that. Maybe I need to look at it again. I just didn't see where to calculate TDEE. I saw somewhere on here it was your weight in lbs. X 15 cals/pound for maintenance???
-
Maybe I am calculating it incorrectly.

Wow some of you guys are pretty harsh! LOL I wouldn't count it if I wasn't going to be climbing up and down a ladder all day. Teaching math to middle schoolers is not nearly so strenuous...lol Thanks for the links for resources.

My plan is to have a little bit of what I really want and not just eat mindlessly. Also KNOWING I HAVE to log in everything makes me think twice about what to put in my mouth! Trying some light versions of things is helpful. For example, I have a new light cocktail recipe to get me through the parties and gatherings. For…
