Good for you! I quit last December after 20+ years. I used patches for the first 3-4 days and then just quit cold turkey. I have cravings every once in a while but it hasn't been that bad. Those things will kill you! END OF STORY! You'll also save a ton of money. Good luck... be strong!

Sorry... I didn't answer your question. Yes, the workouts change. You never do the same workout two days in a row except on your recovery week between month one and month two. PM me if you have any other questions. I'd be happy to answer them.

I haven't done any of Julian's programs but a lot of people on here say good things about them. I did Insanity early this year and really liked it. In month one the workouts don't exceed 35 mins, month two they go to 40-55 depending on the day of the week. Very challenging and fun. Also, you don't need extra equipment. I…

First of all, I would tell you to put the scale away. Seriously, don't get on the scale again for at least 30 days. Based on what I see in your diary you could probably eat a little more calories but as long as you have calculated your BMR/TDEE, you have a good baseline. I'm not a doctor or nutritionist, but you sure don't…

Go to Walmart and get you some Walmart brand MIO energy. You can squirt it in water and BAM,, you'll have flavored water with Caffine in it.

Don't know if you have them there but Sugarless Delight carries it. Otherwise you'll have to get online.

If it doesn't bother the ankle, swimming would be an excellent way to go.

I like Runkeeper. It maps and the calorie calcs are very consistent with what I get on my HRM. Its really not that big of a deal that it doesn't sync with MFP.

I haven't done P90X but I completed Insanity earlier this month. They are both very good, challenging programs. I would like to do P90X some day but honestly I choose Insanity because it doesn't require any extra stuff. You just put the disc in and get a serious workout. If you liked month one, you'll really like month…

If it doesn't wear you out, go for it. I did Insanity earlier this year and I did extra workouts during the recovery period because I like to eat and needed to burn extra calories. I wouldn't go nuts with a new 2-hour cross fit routine but you'll be fine otherwise. Things are about to get more challenging but I really…

Get what you like. You could do a lot worse than eating at Subway IMHO. I always try to eat 100% whole grain because it doesn't have enriched flour (like most white and "wheat" breads) so it doesn't cause spikes in blood sugar and has a much higher fiber content. That being said, I don't think most Subways offer a 100%…

Anything can make you gain weight if you eat enough of it. Eat as much fruit as you want just make sure it fits within your calorie budget. Outside of that, fruit is a great choice. Don't worry about the sugar. The natural sugar in fruit is not the same as added sugar you find in a lot of foods.

You need to warm up and stretch before EVERY run. Take a day of rest and then get back to it.

Whatever time of the day you can get it in is good! I've always thought that if you have the option, exercise when you have the highest energy levels. For me, that IS NOT early in the morning but it is nice to get it knocked out first thing. I don't beleive that it makes a big difference in terms of how much weight you…

I have been Type I for about 20 years and I last took it about 10 years ago. At that time weight loss wasn't a concern for me. I stopped taking it because it bothered my stomach and I didn't feel like eating which isn't a good thing when your taking insulin. Anyway, I have researched the drug a bit and I don't believe that…

I walked 4.5 miles on Sunday and burned 610 calories. That's about 135 calories per mile. So yes, 80 is a conservative estimate.

I think most people who argue against meat-less diets do so because they think there is no other way to get adequate quality lean protein in your diet without it. I think you should do whatever you want and not worry about what anyone else says. They really should worry about themselves. I personally like red meat (lean…

Great Job!!! Take all that motivation and success into the next program and goal!

Situps and crunches suck! There are many other ways (that are more effective) to work abs. Go to youtube.com and search "ab workouts" and you'll find lots of options and it'll demonstrate proper form.

That's tough to do! Some good suggestions here already! Bump for later

I have the same model and I've been happy with it. Just wear it when you work out. I track calories burned, workout duration and max/average HR for each session.

I've been Type I since I was 18. I've never done a low carb diet but I think there may be some merit to a regular diet (not just one that lasts 17 days) that is low in carbs. Less carbs=Less Insulin. Here is an interesting article that I found:…

Good way to look at it! Stay focused on the long term. Everyone wants results fast (including me) but the time is going to pass regardless. Each day that you eat healthy (or healthier than you have in the past) and you exercise, you are one day closer to your goal regardless of what the scale may show short term. Good luck!
