  • At 35 weeks now but I have had MS in the 1st tri, the flu or food poisoning-not sure which-combined with flying to a tradeshow (not a symptom but sucked none the less), sciatica since week 15, a great second trimester, getting tired in the 3rd, shoes no longer fit had to buy not quite flats (ugh- I'm a heels girl) and now…
  • I am right there with you. I know how bad they hurt. I can barely make a fist in the mornings or hold a brush. Mine are also swollen but not crazy swollen. Enough that I can't wear my ring. Make sure you talk to your OB. My doctor said it was normal and suggested soaking them in cold water or taking cold showers. Mine has…
  • 30 weeks here...my OB is completely against it. 1. the risk of falling 2. the risk of getting hit. 2 is probably the most likely scenario -too many people driving and not paying attention. I think 'no biking' is the opinion that most doctors will have. That said, my OB was completely for spinning. So I am still spinning…
  • Hi! I am 38 and we had genetic screening done (Verifi test and an NT scan), however because of my age there was a higher risk. However when you say "genetic screening" know that there are now lots of options. ie you no longer need to have an invasive test such as an amnio or CVS. There are newer tests like Verifi (this is…
  • I can't recommend any particular one as I will be a FTM in Dec, but check out craigslist. There are so many jogging strollers on there that have barely been used (at least in my area). Good luck!
  • Congrats!! I am 28 wks and am still going to the gym 4 days a week. Most doctors will say keep doing what you are used to doing. So I am spinning 2-3 days a week and lifting 2 days a week, I have also added in 2 days of prenatal yoga (highly recommend!). The big thing is to keep heartrate in moderate zone. Some say…
  • I know someone else mentioned it already but last night the midwife that teaches my prenatal yoga class said to get into any body of water. Pool, lake, river etc. She said the swimming and just overall cooling effect of the water will really help with the fluid retention. :)
  • I had terrible MS as well for the entire first tri. I lived off of saltines, apple juice and clear gatorade for several weeks. I had a hard time cooking as well as the only I wanted to do when I got hm from work was lay on the couch and go to bed. Couple of things that worked for me. I ate saltines 30 min before I got up.…
  • I bought the over the belly ones from Motherhood. They were around $35-40. I have all over the belly ones and find that they are way more comfortable than under the belly. Like someone else said once I popped the under the belly were really uncomfortable.
  • I had them all through the 1st trimester. Talk to your Dr as mine prescibed fiorcet when mine were really bad. Tylenol didn't work for me and I didn't really want to take anything either. I have about half a regular coke at onset and that seems to do the trick if I catch it early. Good luck!

  • Yes. I have to eat every 2-3 hrs as well.
  • My doctor switched me from my Nature Made prenatals as they were making me sick during 1st tri to Flintstones Plus Iron. SHe said to take 2 a day. Looking at the label they have everything the prenatals did and are way more fun to take. Just be sure you get the ones plus iron.
  • I am 15 weeks, due 12/5. I have only gained 2-3 lbs, but look like 10. It is crazy I am working out more consistently than ever - 2 days spinning, 2 days lifting, 1 day running and 1 prenatal yoga - but I look like I haven't worked out in months. I know I am healthy so I guess that is all I can do. Plus I am short with a…
  • I am 9 weeks and have found that going in the AM before work seems to be best. I wouldn't make it at night. I have had really bad morning sickness 24/7 but seems to be a little better after working out in the mornings. Mornings seem to be my only option. Have to go to bed really early though! My OB said stick with what you…

  • Okay I am a neat freak down there so here goes! I am a waxer and have continued to do so during my pregnancy. We live on our boat during the summer, so there is no going natural for me. I will say it is not for the faint of heart especially if you haven't ever done it before. I will say not all estheticians are alike so it…
  • check out: http://www.skinnytaste.com - all of her recipies are amazing!
  • I make taco salad...99% lean ground turkey taco meat and then chop romaine, some cherry tomatoes and 1/4C shredded light cheddar, 7 baked tostitos crushed. Then for dressing I use salsa and 1 tsp ff sour cream. Perfect taco salad. Just add the tostitos, salsa and s.cream at work and shake in the container. Oh and for the…
  • You can do it! If you are worried about some of the exercises on your own, drop the weight a little. I know I can't do some of the weight that I do with the trainer. Besides you know what the workout should feel like and whether or not you are "cheating". Sometimes that is all the motivation you need. Good luck!
  • Schedule looks good. Have you or your trainer been writing down your workouts? I have mine write them down everytime and I now have 5 books full of workouts, plus we record weight and reps. Makes for an easy way to find a workout. I also draw pictures next to anything I think I might forget. Another option is to cut back…
  • check out skinnytaste.com she has really good recipies with pics.
  • GNC protein powder with 4 oz water or with skim milk, especially since you are doing P90X. I also like the Breakstone's 100 calorie cottage cheese doubles or deli meat for one the go.
