I do running, biking, swimming, etc but I enjoy it, and I find I feel better when I do some of both (lifting and cardio) rather than concentrate on only one. As to whether it's necessary, that depends on what you mean... necessary for what?

Was this something specified by your TI? I went through in 92 and my experience was nothing like that. I'm pretty sure I had pancakes or french toast smothered in syrup every breakfast, and had pop in addition to my two glasses of water.

Agreed. I've never been at 10% but the difference between 15% and 20% for me is that at 20 I'm just carrying around an extra 12 pounds of fat on my gut that serves no purpose but to slow me down.

My appetite is not properly tuned to allow me to eat the amounts of food that will keep me at the place I want to be, so I use a scale to correct the faults in my appetite. As far as I'm concerned it's comparable to wearing glasses. My 4 and 6 year olds already understand that.
