It took me a while to figure it out. Go to Apps. Click on the Fitbit logo. Click Get. Login to Fitbit (I forgot my password & had to recover it then try again). Once you're logged into Fitbit then you'll be presented with a window that prompts you for which Fitbit items you want to bring over to MFP. Make your selection…

I recommend you resume tracking your calories and exercise (in MFP, of course!). I'm often surprised to find I have calories left in the day when I see my food diary showing less calories consumed than I thought. Note: this is happening to me, too, so tracking is really important to ensure you're eating enough.

I started with a BMI of 28.5 on January 1 this year and am now in maintenance with a BMI of 20. I'm happy here with Body Fat around 22.2%, although I'm going to start some strength training to rebuild some muscle that I lost when I dropped 50 pounds.

Great decisions to get a personal trainer, work alongside with your partner for this lifestyle change and to focus on body fat, instead of just the numbers on the scale.

MFP has been terrific! I never would have been successful without it. A colleague of mine also told me about an app that is really good for getting into running that I'm seriously considering: http://www.c25k.com/

I'm 5' 6.5" tall, started @ 176.5 lbs January 1, 2013 and am now about 133. Send me a friend request if you'd like to view my diary. That goes for anyone else who is interested.

I'm game to participate in a focus group to pilot the theory :)

This app has proved to be the best tool ever. It helps me be accountable to myself & gain inspiration from others. I was hoping to lose 36.5 pounds from January 2013 to August 2013, but thought it was a stretch. In fact I've surpassed my goal and am very happy with the result. I have been very disciplined in my eating, but…

I've tried it for about 3 months at a time on several occasions while managing my eating and had positive results each time. It certainly helped firm me up. Unfortunately, the only window I had to go was at 5:30 AM and it's REALLY hard to drag yourself out of a nice warm bed when it's -40 outside in Saskatchewan in the…

I've been getting cramps in my feet on occasion since the beginning of the year. My Mom suggested I put a bar of soap in my bed near my knees between my mattress cover & fitted sheet. I LMAO then Googled it: http://www.peoplespharmacy.com/2012/07/22/why-does-soap-soothe-nighttime-leg-cramps/ I decided to give it a try with…

I've been eating below 1400 calories since the beginning of the year and have never been hungry. Feel free to add me as a friend & then you may view my food diary to get ideas.

OMG - you are so AMAZING and INSPIRING! I was so intimidated about the warning on Insanity that it isn't for beginners (after dropping a small fortune to buy it) and you just demonstrated that determination and persistence will pay off BIG TIME. Thank you so much for sharing your challenge and victory! Keep on investing in…

Centrum for Women works for me!

I started changing my eating habits January 1 & diligently using MFP - keeping my calories between 1200 & 1400 per day. I've successfully lost 30 pounds in 3 months & 10 days with NO exercise, except I've started taking the stairs. I'm sure it's possible, but not sure it's healthy unless you eat healthy & get more exercise…

Welcome to MFP! I'm from the Canadian prairies - Saskatchewan. I signed up to MFP around Christmas because my daughter's PE teacher had them use it from January to March to track their food, so I decided to check it out. It's been a blessing! I'll be 52 this summer, I'm about 5' 6.5" tall and started the year out at 176.5…

Good for you! I bought Insanity and was excited to get going with it until I read it's not for beginners. I ended up buying a beginners Pilates to ease myself back into shape. In my mind I'm 30 years younger, but my body doesn't seem to agree. Enjoy your workout!

Add a 1/2 to 1 tablespoon of flax seed to your salads & it should help with your constipation.

Just read this from "The Mayo Clinic Diet": "Recent studies confirm that the most important factor in weight change is total calories, not where they come from." I spent the last 6 weeks doing Atkins, which sounds similar to what you're doing. I lost weight alright, but my cholesterol and blood pressure went up and my…

Cold turkey! It's been 24 years for me & now I can't stand the smell of smoke. It makes me feel like you did when you had your nicotine patch on. My Mom smoked for 25 years and even though she quit in the mid-80s her lungs have sustained permanent damage and she has COPD & is now using oxygen. I keep remembering the image…

I'd expect a personal trainer to recommend an appropriate exercise routine and to ensure my technique is correct. It's essential to avoid injury!

Yep! Started the new year just counting calories, per MFP, then about the 3rd week of January I started doing Atkins, but I'm staying within the MFP calorie recommendation. I'm done my 2 weeks Induction phase and staying in Induction. My reward is up to 1 oz. of nuts per day, but they are included in my carbs for the day.…

Ever pick up a couple of 5 pound weights or carry around 10 pounds of butter in a shopping basket? 10 pounds is Fantastic!!! It's understandable to want to lose a lot quickly, but it's healthier to lose it gradually. Just remember the story of the tortoise & the hare. Give yourself a big pat on the back and keep up the…

I'm a mother of 3 (ages 23, 18 & 13) and I had 3 stomaches. I'm pretty sure I should only have 1, and it's supposed to be underneath the skin. Thanks to myfitnesspal I'm down to 2 stomaches now (1 inside where it belongs and 1 outside). You are not the only one! The tricky part is to lose the weight and get your skin to…
