Thank you everyone for all of your input! I honestly did not expect to hear from so many. And also, thanks for the lack of judgment! I get enough of that from my mother lol. Using an e-cig for now sounds like the best alternative for me until I am truly psychologically ready to quit. I haven't been able to look at the…

I'm so sorry if it's my post that did that! Awesome that you quit, I am jealous.

I think I'm going to cut down and see how I feel. That'll be the first step.

I also suffer from depression, but have not experienced feelings of depression due to eliminating unhealthy food from my diet. We all have a psychological relationship with food though, and like some people use drugs, or sex, or alcohol to numb, you may have been using food in that way, and just like an alcoholic…

I was nervous at first when my suggested calorie intake was 1330. What I have found after the last few weeks though is that if I make healthy food choices, 1330 is not too low at all. Especially on days I work out, I eat back my calories. It's given me even more motivation to work out, because I love to eat!

I'm "from" Michigan, but currently live in Portland, Oregon :) Traverse City

I'm 5'5 CW: 141 GW: 130 Cals: 1330, I have it set up to where I want to lose a pound a week, and I eat back the calories I burn from exercising.

I saw you live in Seattle, and there are a couple of great places there I love going to. Crossroads Trading is a good second hand store. They are somewhat picky about the clothes they choose to sell. Redlight is also good and in the same neighborhood. When I visit Seattle, I typically spend a lot of time at Capitol Hill,…

I'm wondering this, too. My stomach growls every couple of hours. Some people say that sometimes when you think your body is telling you that you are hungry, it might just mean that you need to be more hydrated. I drink A LOT of water though.

I believe this is true.

I was told the only strength training that can be done on a daily basis is abs. You're supposed to give your muscles at least a day's rest. For example, I have been doing my strength training (all muscle groups) 3x/week, on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Also, eat more protein!

Avocados are very low in carbs, but I don't think they are carb-free. If you're searching for avocados in the MFP database, I would choose the one MFP input themselves as opposed to any that other MFP users may have entered. I hope that helps!

I log until I fall asleep. If I wake up in the middle of the night and eat something, I log it as breakfast.

I was just noticing that this morning! But two weeks of going to the gym would not make my abs look THAT great already.

If I want to eliminate whole wheat from my diet, what can I use to replace whole wheat lasagne noodles instead of vegetables? I don't want to make an eggplant lasagne....
-
Are you getting enough calories for your height/weight? I've read that not eating enough calories can also hinder weight loss.

I don't know what your situation is to where you need to live with your parents, but, rest assured, somewhere around 40% of recent college graduates live with their parents because of today's crappy economy. I'm only saying that because I saw a couple of people say you're 21 so you need to move out. Anyway, I live with my…

Pretzels dipped in dijon or honey mustard. Yum!

I am so up for the challenge. Thanks for starting this!

I had that problem this morning, so I ate 1/2 cup cottage cheese, drank 3 glasses of water, and a cup of coffee. Not sure why, but it worked. Maybe my body was just telling me what I really needed.
-
You are so pretty! Congrats :)

Quite a few people don't like Nutella or bacon. I think bacon would taste fabulous dipped in Nutella. Yum. The only food I can't stand eating is water chestnuts, and those aren't even bad for you. Ugh.

Show him this thread. Maybe he'll realize what everyone here is telling you! And, you're beautiful!

1 1/2 cups of homemade chicken enchilada soup, an orange, and a 1/2 cup of cottage cheese

If I have plans to go out that I've made in advance, I will limit my calorie intake throughout the day so I can splurge a little at dinner. I do the same if I know I'm going out for drinks. When I go out for drinks I drink more slowly because it's true that you get buzzed more easily when you don't have a lot of food in…
