THIS. Eating to lose weight is something I can't seem to grasp.

Put power tools in to the mix and see what happens.

thanks for all the details!

This thread is old... am I too late to be offended?

I use the stairs all the time. I go for my non-smoking breaks by walking the building and the stairwells. Anything to get me away from my desk.

Too bad my sister isn't on MFP. She is a 11/20 person as well!
-
Yes! Another twin!
-
Ditto

Not when you start out as a big guy as I did. Just going up 1 or 2 flights of stairs my heart would get going!
-
Ditto. Then fire up the coffee maker.

Incredible and awesome work! Keep it up. I started at 270 when I was 49. I am now 208lb at 50 and hope to be my goal (185ish) by 51.

We got a Weight Watchers one from a garage sale. keeps track of all sorts of stats for up to 6 people. It has been within 1/2 lb of the scales at the WW meetings I go to.

Another thing, what is the 'secret' part of it? The only person I am hiding food things from is myself. If I can't be honest about what I am eating with myself there has to be more going on. So I jumped in to weight loss with both feet. I write down all the crap snacks, alcohol, and other 'treats'. THAT has helped me…

Ditto. I have to find things that keep me occupied or I eat. I look forward to the Spring so I attempt a garden. Picking weeks burns calories!

I am 51. Started at 265lb when 50... just got down to 208. Still a few more stubborn ones to go. Feel free to add me!

Want to see my year chart? There are plateaus scattered all over the place. Some as short as 2 weeks, others near 2 months. Trend is still downward. Don't worry until you have gone a long, long time. HEALTH is the goal. Weight loss is just a side effect (at least for me). I started at 265lb and am down to 208... you can do…

I have 2 teen kids to feed as well. I do tacos, buffet style. We did chili last night. Baked potatoes are also a hit and easy to make. We, as a family, have a wide variety of tastes so we (I) like to cook things that people assemble from various ingredients. THAT being said I also do brisket, paninis, and other 'main'…

LOl. Well, one or two has no effect on my kid who LOVES them but when she snacks on many, well, THAT is a different story. I also don't seem to have adverse effects from one while my wife can't even handle one. So, I guess my advice is to buy a box and try it. Start with eating ONE with your other normal foods and see what…

Yeah, I don't recall too many discussions about brushing that take place outside of the dentist office.

I love my pups! Yellow Lab and German Shepard/Husky Mix. http://www.flickr.com/photos/eaddict/sets/72157613532067375/ (can someone show me how to add images?)

60 down... 25 to go. These last 25 DO NOT WANT TO LEAVE! Argh! Any and all folks in this thread feel free to add me a friend!
-
I ain't giving it up. Just tracking it as I do everything.

Just opposite of my wife. She was born/raised in Carbondale and now is in St Louis where our daughters go to Parkway South! Guess it all balances out.

I went to Buffalo Grove HS in Buffalo Grove, IL (near Chicago) but both my girls go to Parkway South. Guess they will be able to answer that St Louis question than I.
