I was shocked to see much calcium and protein I still get as a vegan. We really don't need as much protein as we think we do anyways--the RDA recommends about 0.8 grams of protein per kilogram of bodyweight at an ideal weight, and that has a pretty big safety allowance. The World Health Organization's findings…

New Rules of Lifting for Women was a great starting point for me! I started way lighter than I probably needed to and worked my way up to the heavy weights. It made the beginning a little less intimidating for me.

I used Higdon for my first two half marathons. It seems to be a good general program. For fuel, I've done a lot of experimenting and found I do best with GU. On the other hand, my running partner swears by ShotBloks. Definitely try different fuels to see what makes you feel the best.

Starting back over with MFP...I could definitely use more friends!

You'd think after 2+ years on here I'd know how to add a pic to a thread, but alas. Anyways, I'm totally guilty!

I just focus on the quality of food I'm putting into my body and eating the foods I like in moderation. Eating a little less and moving a little more has worked wonders for me so far :-).

I've lost about 60 pounds and it's taken me two years to do so. I've had some backslides and some plateaus, but I also have gotten very concerned with preserving lean muscle mass. That means I eat more. I only put myself in deficit to lose a half pound to a pound a week, simply because it's much more sustainable for me. I…

500 calories above TDEE is a good basic recommendation. I'd add in healthy fats and proteins (quinoa, nut butters, lean proteins, avocado, etc.) to gain healthy weight. Also, if you're wanting to keep your tone, check some bodybuilding threads on bulking. These are people who are excellent at gaining weight while…

i've heard supersets with weightlifting work. I personally haven't tried them, so you may want to research them first. Also, are you eating enough? I had to eat astronomical amounts when I was swimming competitively just to maintain my weight. It was a fight to keep weight on often, so losing while swimming shouldn't…

2-4 pounds is still double the safe amount of weight to lose. I don't normally respond to something that is clearly a scam, but taking advantage of people like this is ridiculously irresponsible.

I didn't do my first 5k fast, but I had a blast doing it! I would go for it!

I'm a former elite swimmer who burned out like a forest fire with no fuel. However, I can definitely relate to the workouts, the competition, the nerves, etc. Feel free to add me!

Katherine Heigl. All. The. Time. Good thing I think she happens to be gorgeous!

It was rough, and there were definitely times I didn't make it through the whole workout. However, I stuck with it and repeated some weeks until I got the whole week done. Now I actually enjoy running. Seriously, stick with it!

I don't remember the exact numbers, but the 1984 LA games set the precedent that a company must pledge an astronomical amount (I want to say minimum $10 million, but I could very easily be wrong) in order to be an Olympic sponsor. This is because of the crazy amount of money it takes to make a host city games ready.…

Down 30 pounds...went down a band size, and up a cup size in the bra department...so no change here!

I mix it up a lot, but my favorites are running, lifting HEAVY weights, and yoga. I love lifting heavy!

I think it depends on the person. I did a trial week at a Crossfit gym near me and I loved it, but it's not in my price range at the moment. The gym I was at seemed to have excellent trainers who really did make the effort to scale for me and others in the class. I'm not sure about mixing with Supreme 90, since I've never…

I have found that there is no magic witching hour that suddenly makes calories count more. However, I do watch what types of foods I eat before bed, because I don't like going to sleep feeling stuffed or bloated.

5'9 and I wear heels (the higher, the better)! I figure I'm already taller than half of the male population, so if I'm going to wear heels, I might as well go for broke and be taller than everyone! Plus, heels make everyone's legs and booty look awesome.

5'10" and I'd like to be between 150 and 160 ideally.
