  • That's brilliant! I'm going to try the peaches and cream version, thanks for sharing!!
  • That's awesome, and some serious determination! Interested to hear how your album comes along! I love some good rock music :#
  • Eating 1200 calories a day is relatively easy once your body adjusts to it. Your breakfast sounds great, although I'm addicted to my Special K cereals with almond milk for breakfast. Eat lots of veggies and proteins. Chicken, turkey, fish, beef (the leaner cuts). Buy wraps to make sandwiches with instead of bread. The ones…
  • You weigh 111 pounds, and you want to lose weight? As far as increasing calories, add more fat to your diet. Put some butter on your veggies or toast and cook with olive oil or other oils. Not sure about the period thing. Mine is a bit all over the place (more like every 2 months usually).
  • Wow, the only other person on this thread who loves Pure Protein bars?! They are my go-to for horse shows, work or dinner on the run! Delicious and pretty filling! I make sure to drink at least a cup or two of water as well, as that helps me feel less hungry also. My favorite flavors are the chocolate deluxe and the…
  • Everyone has those days. If you're body is becoming exhausted, it's a sign you should give it a break, or pull back and do an easier workout. Same thing goes if you think you might be getting sick. Make sure you're eating well and getting the vitamins your body needs, and do the amount of exercise that you can. Taking a…
  • There's absolutely no need to snack. Simply make your main meals bigger, or more calorie dense.
  • Quote is from the reddit thread. He doesn't eat 1,200 on a regular basis, so what's the big deal? It's kinda like I have days that I only consume 800/900 calories, while generally I eat more like 1,200. It's perfectly normal to have days you just aren't as hungry, or so busy you consume less. I'm pretty sure it's not the…
  • Why yes, yes I would. I find it easy to eat 3000 calories a day. I don't do it (on a regular basis), but I can put food down with the best of them. However, I have some days that I can eat 1000 calories and be satisfied. Is there room for more? Yes, but I'm not necessarily hungry. Other days, I'll eat like crazy and STILL…
  • Maybe if more people begin referring to cutting calories as cutting, it will become a more positive term, right? Or maybe if we put the same effort into helping those who do self-harm as we do into nitpicking terms, we eventually won't automatically associate it with that. A word is a word. Cutting in itself is not a bad…
  • Leave out the object and it simply means cutting. That doesn't mean cutting your arms. So you're associating the word with that, when using the word "cutting" in general meant other things way before it was largely referred to as self-harm. (Sorry, edited while you wrote that) And my opinion? Nope. I find it annoying when…
  • Leave out the object and it simply means cutting. That doesn't mean cutting your arms. So you're associating the word with that, when using the word "cutting" in general meant other things way before it was largely referred to as self-harm. Context can also include the general area or place you use these terms. On MFP,…
  • Horses, work, treadmill (for winter or icky weather), and my bikes :)
  • +1 It's as simple as learning to read in context. The term "cutting" for eliminating calories is not an MFP community term only. I see it often from weight lifters. By the way, I'm going to a rodeo tomorrow and will be cutting cattle...I'll leave that to your imagination since it only has a negative meaning apparently ;)
  • You said pull yourself "up", the girl in that picture isn't going up. I would guess you were using the Total Gym? You can adjust the incline level and do all kinds of fun things with it, including an easy start to pull ups.
  • If you don't have a problem limiting yourself, then just fit a healthy amount into your calorie count. I tend to lose self control when there's a lot of chocolate around, so I have my mom hide it and portion it out for me :)
  • I think wanting to eat the entire pizza, but now actually knowing the calories in it, to be stressful. Or just wanting to eat ice cream for every meal, but knowing that you'll *feel like* you're starving to death if you actually stay inside your calories, to be very stressful as well. Doesn't mean you're doing it wrong…
  • Some Slipknot / Stone Sour Disturbed Five Finger Death Punch Shinedown Three Days Grace Avenged Sevenfold Hollywood Undead Pop Evil That makes up the majority of my playlist. But then I also have quite a few other various songs/artists/genres. Don Omar's Danza Kuduro is one of my favorites. Rise Against Pitbull Volbeat The…
  • Lol agreed! I always at least look to see if it's something worth fighting a crowd for. I also have a knack for showing up when they're in the middle of preparing the next batch!
  • Sounds like you already solved your problem. I personally think that going through the process (and money) of buying them, and then giving most of them away, shows some pretty good discipline. For me, it's easy to walk away at the store. Unless I'm starving...then, I just want to buy everything. The real struggle is at…
  • That's interesting. Never thought of it that way. Well the pee charts are excellent to go by, but it's pretty safe to stick with the 8 cups (64 ounces) a day guideline. It's not the gospel truth, but I always shoot for no less. Often I will double it, during warmer days particularly. I'm not always necessarily thirsty per…
  • There's no actual benefit doing it at 5am as opposed to 5pm. It's about what works for you! Me personally? Nothing short of horses and work will drag me out of bed before the sun. Early morning workouts/runs (as in before 7 or 7:30) aren't as beneficial for me because I'm still tired and pretty unmotivated...and always end…
  • Even if you're only worried about calories, and aren't worried about the vitamins and minerals, you absolutely MUST count your fruit and vegetables as well. Unlimited fruit and veggies can be enough to put you well over your calorie limit (along with the other food you eat), and cause you to gain weight. Not to mention,…
  • Please tell me you're joking. On topic though, it's amazing how far we've come! Thanks for sharing.
  • Poor thing. Now try telling that to a child whose gone 3 days without food and is wondering when they may get another meal. THAT, is hunger. Skipping lunch is NOTHING compared to that. I do that on a regular basis, and actually, the hungry stage goes away after a couple hours.
  • Same here! Bud Platinum, Yuengling, Rolling Rock. Redd's Apple Ale is delicious! Corona with a lime wedge is doable (not a big fan though). Beer is always best ice cold, but I can drink it when it starts getting warmer too.
  • Some days I don't eat any back. Other days, I'll eat all of them back. As a general rule for myself, I *attempt* to eat no more than 50% back.
  • To each their own. I prefer light beers, so sue me o:)
  • I believe that's the big problem. I guess maybe these days it's becoming more socially acceptable to act like a big baby in your 20s instead of growing up. I see no reason that someone can learn to actually be mature and care about people other than themselves by that age. I guess maybe I'm one of the few who (anymore) has…
  • Haha oh my. How many different beers have you tried? I bet there's one out there for you! Coors light, Rolling Rock, Bud light Platinum, Yuengling Lager, there's some delicious ales (Redd's Apple Ale is one of my favorites). So many options.
