I wouldn't say it's too much but I'd say it's not varied enough. I'd throw in some strength training days to alternate with cardio days. Your body will become accustomed to the same workout and stop getting results without variation. Great dedication though! The elliptical can be tough!

Yes, the best way is to use a Heart Rate Monitor. I just use one for each of my workouts and then put that info into myfitnesspal. Unfortunately, the calorie burn will vary with each person so I couldn't really give you an accurate number for each workout.

I've had this problem in the past too. I know how you feel. Simple carbs create these cravings and the only thing I could do was eliminate them from my diet. By doing that, the cravings go away. Take a look at eating a "primal" diet. Google Mark's Daily Apple. It's a good read.

I agree with doing it again but working your abs every day is not good. They need a day off, just like any other part of your body. Give them a day to recuperate and then go right back at it. Keep it up and the sore goes away in no time. :)
