I absolutely agree people have forgotten what 'normal' weight looks like. My mother in law (who is obese) visited last week and told my husband he looked great and she was happy he had finally put some weight on, not so skinny anymore. We looked at each other and just started laughing, my husband is right on the border of…

Most of my adult life I weighed around 110 lbs until late 30's when I started gaining. I am 5' 2" and my soft goal is 118 (it would be 120 but I knock off 2lbs for my breast implants whenever I weigh myself). When I get there I will make judgement on whether I should continue to aim for my 'normal' weight from before age…

It will probably seem a more attractive option when the meat we are now used to eating is no longer available (I believe that is coming by the end of my life time at least) I find it interesting that someone said they found it disturbing because it never had a face or a mother, I find the slaughter and inhumane conditions…

I had no idea about nutrition or how to lose weight, the following post changed my life: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1080242/a-guide-to-get-you-started-on-your-path-to-sexypants/p1

Whole grain pasta all the way for me, my family all like it too. Spaghetti is only 180 calories per serving of 2oz which is plenty. I would eat it whatever time of day I felt like it. If we have it with bolognese I use ground turkey breast 99% fat free in the sauce instead of ground beef.

I just go back to my normal calorie goal, but that is because being 5'2" my calorie goal is only around 1300 per day right now, so to eat less would be a bad idea. If my calorie goal were around say 1800 I would eat less the next day to balance it out and meet my weekly goal.

Oh just remembered another one! People who start threads asking for help with their weight loss, or exercise plan etc, then get lots of helpful replies, but never come back, not even just to say 'thanks'.

HOA's that have really super strict rules about everything, EXCEPT the things that matter to me, like how about some adult only evening hours at the pool?! Parents who think that their kids being really loud is ok no matter where they are. Parents who ignore their kids crying while shopping, I remember being that poor…

I have heard it said that it is more about what you eat than what you do. You need to create a deficit in your calories ie. burn more than you eat. So you need to know what you burn, then you can use this site to log what you eat. At the top of this forum is a post to useful threads/posts, in there you will see one about…

Maybe your professor meant online resources of information, such as looking up prices of foods, you can shop online at Walmart Grocery and see the exact prices of everything. He/she wants to know what YOU would do, not what other people you have asked online would do, and you would learn more doing it yourself too.

5'2" my goal is 120, I hit my goal weight a couple of years ago then gained back 20lb's which I am now starting to try lose again.

This. I never cooked different food for my kids, and now they are grown up and eat a wide range of healthy foods (and some not so healthy too!)

See! This is why no one likes dentists ;)

I hate when someone posts on a forum asking a simple question, then someone comes along and writes a wall of text all about themselves. I saw one recently, it was a weight loss question and the second poster wrote all about her mother passing away, how big she was when she found mfp, how many pregnancies she had had, how…

This post is 3 years old and the poster is no longer active, just thought you should know, I'm sure there are other veteran groups though.

It isn't a problem when it is occasional, if it was every day then of course it might be. I came to mfp with very little understanding of nutrition or how to lose weight in a healthy way a couple of years ago. I only focused on calories and staying under my goal for the day regardless of what I ate. So for example, if I…

I do prefer to see an image of who I am talking with, but it isn't an absolute must, the message coming with the friend request is important to me too.

Chicken Ball Casserole This one is my kids favorite. 1LB ground chicken breast, mix with a cup of wholewheat bread crumbs, one egg, salt & pepper, half a grated onion. Mix well then roll into little balls about 1.5 inch diameter (get the kids to help with this it takes a while lol). Brown balls in a pan with Pam cooking…

I would like to do that too, I would like it to track my exercise and my food/calories in but let me decide how many calories I have left to eat instead of adjusting the calories I have left for the day. It also adjusts according to how many steps I took with my Fitbit, I wish I could switch that off too, but if I…

It took a long time after my surgery before I could run without discomfort even with a good fitted sports bra, about 6 months, but a lot of women run sooner than that. I had the surgery a year ago and I haven't done any serious strength training but I am planing to start soon and I won't be training the pectoral muscles so…

Thank you, I'm looking at that link. I've only been using weight machines so far, I'm scared I will hurt myself with the free weights. Maybe I should join a better gym that has a trainer so I can learn how to use them.

Omelette with 1 egg, 2 egg whites, 28g Turkey sausage crumbles, 28g 2% shredded cheddar, tsp hot sauce. Plenty of protein while calories still around 220 - 250 depending on size of eggs and type of cheese used. Very yummy.

When I freeze things in a freezer bag they always get frost on them and get ruined, does wrapping in cling film and then putting inside a freezer bag stop that happening?

They looked at my esophagus to make sure there were no pre cancerous cell changes - put me to sleep and put the camera down, and they said there was damage and scarring on the lower valve that stops acid coming up. That is when they put me on Nexium, I don't recall them calling it Barretts but I just looked it up after…

Ahh what a beautiful story. My dog, Sam, is dying of cancer, in November they gave him 2-4 months, he is still with me still running and chasing balls. I am thankful for every day I get with him.

So the Yakult I have been buying at the grocery store probably is just wasting my money then? Seeing the numbers here I suspect the smaller amount in Yakult maybe isn't really doing much for me. I have had GERD and been on Nexium for several years, I worry about taking Nexium but can't seem to come off it, the GERD…

I have the FT7 and I don't like it. It has become unreliable after only about 3 months use. The light hardly lights the screen at all, I find the screen hard to read, the beep sound is almost inaudible and pointless. I don't like the polartrainer site very much either. I'm looking for alternative chest strap heart rate…
