I have the fitbit force. It does register my steps if my arm is not swinging, also it registers if I am pushing a cart too, I guess it 'feels' the bump of my steps? Anyway, I really love it and have worn it every day since last Christmas. I like that it monitors my sleep, the silent buzzing alarm on my wrist to wake me up…

I have the Fitbit Force for tracking calories, steps, distance and it also monitors sleep and how many times I wake, how restless etc. I also recently purchased a hrm - Polar FT7 because the Fitbit Force doesn't monitor heart rate. I really like both of them. There are a really wide range of Polar products.

I nibble on slightly salted cashew nuts in the evening, or sometimes at the office. They have protein and healthy fats, and 150 calories in just a small amout (28g).

Partly depends on how much privacy you have, or whether you are bothered if co workers notice. I do squats at work, every now and then, and also the yoga 'chair pose' but without my arms up. Here is a helpful little article with a few…

Don't like ANY fatty meat, also no meat with bones. Hate macaroni and cheese and have very little interest in desserts or sweet things of any type except dark chocolate at least 70%.

I understand completely how you feel. It was like that for me for many years when I was young, and now it is like that for my daughter. She is active duty military and as you can imagine she feels very irritated when people say she looks too young to be in the military. I think people don't realize how it comes across to…

I am on BP meds too. This week my doctor told me that the medication I take is not accumulative. I don't know if this is true for the type of medication you are taking, but what it means for mine is that there is no residual effect from the weeks I have been taking it previously, so I would have no protection from BP…

Eggs are not bad, but if you are eating up to 36 per week you should work out how much cholesterol that is and then look at how much cholesterol you are aiming to stay under per week.

Well I never get the urge really during the day at work, evenings are when I want to snack so I save some calorie allowance for night times, and try to have a few of my fave healthy (or at least healthier than some options) I crave salty snacks, like chips, but have found that slightly salted cashew nuts help fulfill that…

I avoid anything high sodium. It gives me a headache and I have to drink a ton of water to get past that thirsty feel you get right after eating something high in salt.

This is really good advice, I agree with this. Save that money up for your hormone test. I am sorry you are having such a hard time and I hope it gets better soon, keep your chin up girl!

I gave up sugar in my tea (well it's a start!) I need a little education about sugar, I recently got a lab result for an A1C test that was 5.7 and the doc said that is in the pre diabetes range. I had never heard of the A1C test and so now I am looking at what to do about it and kind am a little confused with all the info…

For a while I decided I was not going to even try to lose weight because I liked my boobs just the way they were. When I developed high blood pressure I realized I was being silly. When when I reach my goal my reward will be my booby "rejuvenation"

I WANT to love running! but it hurts. It hurts my legs on the outer thigh. I have tried having people watch me run to see if I am running in bad form, I have tried all sorts of different running shoes, I have tried running on treadmills, running on tracks, running on grass, but it still always hurts too much to run much…

Far too much TL;DR going on here and I think that response is unnecessary, juvenile and rude. If you can't be bothered to read the entire post then your response is irrelevant, start your own thread instead. From Urban Dictionary: "too long; didn't read." really means: (meant tongue in cheek don't get your knickers in a…

Body fat % is used to calculate your bmr if using the Katch-McArdle formula: http://www.calculatorpro.com/calculator/katch-mcardle-bmr-calculator/ Fitbit uses the Mifflin-St.Jeor formula the same as MFP does. So I don't think Fitbit would take body % into account. I could be wrong, and I have used their website's help…

Yes I have, but lately it's been one thing after another what with holiday foods, parties, visitors, and now just as I am ready to work harder at the gym I got laid up with a cold and throat infection. Patience is a virtue I guess : /

I used to dislike the elliptical until I met the Arc Trainer :noway: When I am on the elliptical I put on my headphones and turn the music up loud, then I kind of imagine I am dancing and get a rhythm going then I get really into it! Songs that work well for me on the elliptical include: "The Distance" Cake, "Let the…

Wow! I have learned a ton by reading this thread. I have been eating 1200 and had no idea that I was putting myself at risk. I am reading all the links and I see that I need to re-plan! The post by the lady who's hair started falling out, and the person whose hormones got messed up really woke me up. I am only 5'2" and…

A lot of advice here is worth taking on board, but please ignore the harshness of some posts don't let it get you more down. I don't have a lot to add except, because I'm a mum, and my son is the same age as you, I want to just give you a hug and say 'believe in yourself, you CAN change this!' (((hugs)))

I have no idea what you weigh, if you were 5'2 like me I might be able to guess, but I can't picture a number for someone taller than me sorry. However, I think you might find bmi more helpful, I saw a chart with pictures of what different bmi looked like on males and females. You can probably find one if you google bmi…

I've never had big boobs so I don't think it will bother me much if I got back to small. I was skinny as a rake for the first 35 years, then started putting weight on around mid 30's and they got quite a bit fuller. I am more concerned that I won't like the change in my face as I get slimmer, I like my more rounded cheeks…

Awesome! You have an attractive face in both pics but the after one is really pretty.
