I do weights that have cardio intervals it will make you sweat and keep you heart pounding,I use 8 to 15 lb dumb bells and have fantastic deffenition. Check out UTube on Kelly Coffey Meyer 30 min series,I usually double them up ( they have lots of options on DVDs) and I also run.

We are already friends I usually run 3 to 4 days a week run any where from 3.2 to 10 miles. I run only on dirt or trail to save on my joints I started l a year ago last Oct on a 5k run that I walked part of this last oct I ran a half marathon. I usually don't eat before I run either sometimes a piece of fruit or oatmeal if I do and I run any where from 3 to 10 miles.

Did not have time to read everyone's responses but.....sounds like you are unhappy enough about yourself....you do not have much free time to exercise let alone cook tasty options to eat and take with you to work. I turn 61 in a couple months and am physically SO much hotter looking than I was in my 20 ,I have tons of energy,weigh 30 pounds less,I never had flat abs till the last few years. And hated exercise. I like Kelly CoffeyMeyer she has a bunch of 30 min Fitness DVDs each one has 2 workouts plus a bunch of premixes you can rent her from Netflicks as well as a ton more DVDs. But you can preview all of Kelly's on Collage video just google it. You can preview all kinds of stuff and the have sales ect ship fast!

Youngins I am going on 61 feel early 40's.....weighed 174 when I was 56, I am fighting the battle and for the most part winning,you can friend me if you would like. I run and do weights ,work out to DVDs .Eat good.Changed my lifestyle and lost 20 yrs.

It is amazing what we gain when we give up .....perhaps that was a poor choice of word..choose to no longer eat,do,ect. I have gained a much happier self!

That's what my female doctor said to me she is 25 yrs younger and is overweight, I think the wrist thing works well for you frame size and pick a weight in the range for age height and frame. I am 5'5" and feel best at around 130 I am 60 and my high weight was 174.

I did not see how tall you are? Durango makes a lot of very good points. I myself have been now close to goal only losing 1 pound a month...and I am holistic about eating tracking and daily exercising if anything I need to up my calories could that be your problem?

Working out is like playtime time the only disadvantage to being older (60) is your body doesn't need many calorie just to exist...hense more exercise.......but think I had more trouble in my 20 's I sure the heck have the best body of my life!!!!!

I turn 61 in May....did not even start exercising till I was 56.....I do it all P 90X ,Insanity....Zumba turbo fire...Kickboxing....I run 6 miles at least 3 times a week.And have run 1/2 marathons this year....so here's for being inappropriate. P.S friend me any one that in my age category like minded.

I am almost 61.I started running at 59 and love it,and yes so much easier lighter! Keep up the great work I know I have shocked myself in my abilities. I have run a half marathon,and regularly run 6 miles several times a week. Until age 56 I was a couch potato and weighed 40 lbs more than now!

I got to goal a couple years ago went from a 12 to 4/6'got rid of everything!!!!!!Wish I would of saved a pair of big pants....Anyways I gained 25 lbs over two years could only squeeze into clothes for awhile.
