I've been doing low carb since spring and started keto a few months ago. I enjoy a big salad daily and a cup of other veggies with my other meal. That is where the bulk of my carbs come from. I do get a few from cheese as well. My breakfast is bulletproof coffee - 12 oz coffee, 1 tbsp coconut oil, 1 tbsp mct oil, 1 tbsp…

I've bought Bob's Red Mill on occasion, but recently I found a bag in the produce dept. at Shop-Rite for only $1.99 for an 8 oz bag.

My macros are set @ 10-20-70 (C-P-F). I set my calories at 1700 but I usually am around 1500.

I don't give up coffee - it keeps me sane. I did stop adding sweetener though

I use youtube for my workouts. I especially like jessicasmithtv. She has TONS of different workouts.

2-3/day. I just had 2 hard boiled for my lunch with chopped avocado and chopped tomato topped with crumbled bacon---one of my faves!! Sometimes scrambled but mostly omelettes with cheese and veggies.

You can also go into your recipes, if you have them them saved in that tab, mouse over the name and at the end of the line will be option to "add to diary" or "delete". If you hit "add to diary" it will ask which meal or snack to add it to.

You might have checked the button about sharing in MFP. I just hit the save recipe button for my own personal use. I have lots of recipes - so much easier than having to enter each item in the diary.

check out Jessicasmithtv on you tube - she has great workouts!

I have it in my coffee every morning (1 tbsp). I've never had a reaction like yours. Sometimes it gets me in the bathroom though. You might have an allergic reaction?? Not sure what would cause that.

Hi Kats and welcome to this great low carber forum! It's great to have a place to go and not get criticized, ostracized, demonized etc. as would happen in the main forum. Lots of great info and support here. I stopped eating wheat in December 2012 after reading "Wheat Belly" by Dr. William Davis, and I started low carb in…

I take both magnesium and potassium supplements. I also take calcium supplement (600 mg) with vitamin D. I still get cramps occasionally, but they are not as severe and go away quickly. I don't skimp on the salt either.

I'm not sure why all that you mentioned would be considered a fad diet. I don't call what I'm eating a diet, it is a lifestyle. And now that I have reduced my carb intake and don't eat all the processed crap and white flour, wheat and sugar and diet soda and low fat junk out there, the bloat is gone, I have no more joint…

Sounds yummy - thanks :)

I workout in late afternoon because I start work at 4:30 am. As long as you get a routine going, it doesn't matter what time of day you do it.

I use coconut oil or grass fed butter for frying, Olive oil is for salads. These are all good fats and I use them daily.

BrillIiant! Laughed my *kitten* off (I only wish)

These aren't zero carb, but they are filling and yummy - muffin in a minute. There are lots of variations, I especially like the cinnamon and I also make a lemon poppyseed that is my favorite. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/453964-low-carb-muffin-in-a-minute. Also a favorite is the minute microwave cheesecake…

I don't eat red meat so when I'm in the mood for a burger, turkey it is. I've had the Butterball, which was okay, nothing special. I do add lots of toppings. I don't eat bread either so the toppings is what makes it yummy. A lot of good reviews of the Jennie-O on this thread, think I'll give those a try or maybe the Aldi…

I'll probably be logging forever. As a former weight watcher member (several times over), the program worked for me because of the measuring and logging. After I had lost X amount of weight, I'd think that I could do it without measuring or writing things down. But the weight would eventually creep back. Now that I'm…

You can really see how much you have toned up in such a short amount of time. Keep up the great work and I'm sure the swimming will be great exercise after your surgery.

I always get natural nut butters that have to be mixed - thanks for the inverted trick--never thought of doing that.

Congrats on your success! I started low carb in April and have never felt better. I'm not a diabetic, but I can't wait to see my doctor in October to see the improvement I have made since last year's physical. Keep up the great work!

I would steer clear of all "light", "low fat" etc. items. They usually are loaded with sugar. That was one of the hardest things to get my mind around - you do not have to be afraid of fat. I eat full fat salad dressings (if I buy bottled dressings, I make sure there is little sugar) and full fat dairy. I do not drink…

It would mean upping your carb intake 5 gr/day for a week, then the following week add 5 more/day. Optimally, you should add one food group each week. The first week you can add nuts, the next week you could add some fruit (berries are the best bet).

Thanks for the tip. I don't eat too much stuff with sugar alcohols, but I will keep this in mind.

High glycemic carbs are definitely addicting. I just think back when I used to eat cookies, cakes, etc. For example, I would take an Entenmann's Louisiana Crunch Cake, cut one slice (a large one) then within 10 minutes of eating that, I would go back and do take another slice. This would continue until it was gone. Even a…
