I have bpc every morning for breakfast with 2 tbsp coconut oil and 2 tbsp hwc. I get plenty of energy from the fat

The body produces sugar on its own by the liver when needed. So no real need for carbs at all

I get my energy from dietary fat - coconut oil, avocado, nuts etc, - I do not need carbs for energy. I work 2 jobs and do not sit on my butt for either of them. I have plenty of energy on this woe. 5% carbs, 25% protein, 70% fat

I would increase fat intake with avocado, olive oil, butter etc. and limit the fruit, although at least you are having berries which is the best option. Also carrots are high in sugar. Eat lots of leafy greens, mushrooms, peppers, broccoli, cauliflower for your carbs and nix the grains altogether. Drink lots of water.…

I make a cocoa fat bomb everyday

Congrats on your progress! This is a great group to find support, ideas and advice on this woe. If you use facebook, there are several groups I joined there: LCHF - Low carb high fat eating group and The Low Carb Dish.

I love red rooibos tea. My grocery carries the Twining's brand. It's chock full of antioxidants, caffeine free,

You could also try sugar free flavored syrups like Da Vinci or Torani. You might find though that after being without for awhile, you get used to the taste, especially if you use yummy heavy cream.

Lol - I'm eating a batch of lc pancakes as I'm reading your recipe. Thanks, I'll give it a try. The one I'm eating has almond flour, 2 eggs, salt, sweetener, water and I added cinnamon. Topped it with some berries I had in the freezer and s/f syrup. Your recipe sounds delish!

One of my faves that I have for lunch very often: Bacon, Egg, Avocado and Tomato Salad: 1 avocado, cut into chunks; 2 hard boiled eggs, cut into chunks; small tomato, cut into chunks; 2 slices cooked bacon, crumbled. Combine all ingredients gently so as not to lose chunky shape. Add salt & pepper to taste. You might like…

Of course fat will be demonized - that's why the SAD diet is being shoved down our proverbial throats. There is still an abundance of obese/overweight individuals while eating low fat/fat free. Apparently no one reads the labels and sees that sugar is one of the main ingredients. Most people are afraid fat thinking that…

Just looked at OP's diary - it explains a lot

I've been doing low carb since the spring and have "graduated" to keto. Welcome aboard :)
-
On average how many carbs do you do on carb nites?
-
I did read that article and was intrigued. I've been doing some reading on carb nite as well as carb refeeding, keto cycling etc. It's all basically the same though some include lifting heavy before the refeeds. I did read that women need to be a bit careful with the fat they are taking in on those nights. I might try it…

I watched his experiment on youtube - Smashthefat. I didn't see the first experiment he did featuring lchf. This experiment featured high carb. He had daily videos that included his weight and waist measurement that he did the previous night and that morning. He also compared the measurements with the lchf experiment he…

This is a great site for any questions you may have about keto - http://www.reddit.com/r/keto/wiki/faq

Thanks for the link - the article was quite interesting. Maybe the cortisol is up there (stress throws a monkey wrench in good health) because I've been low carb since the spring, and most recently keto adapted. I kicked myself out of ketosis the end of August with several ice cream sandwiches, but I've been a good girl…

Menopause started about 4 years ago. Never really had any of the "side effects" luckily and I didn't know blood sugar could be affected. Are you in medicine?
-
Yeah it was fasting glucose - 111

Low carbing since the spring - now doing keto. Down 27 lbs - lots of energy, no cravings, feeling great!!

I think there are so many great low carb recipes out there, the holidays should not be that big of a deal. I just had pumpkin pie tonight from Fat Fast Cookbook by Dana Carpender.

You rocked it girlfriend! I have never seen your starting pics before - you've come a long way baby!!

Hi and welcome!! I recently gave up fruit. I was eating berries and an occasional plum or 1/2 cup cantaloupe. I usually had 2 servings daily. I was in a stall and decided to eliminate the fruit. I'm losing again so I'll hold off on the fruit until I'm at goal. I don't have any carbs at breakfast. I have bulletproof coffee…

I went to the site after I saw your diary (thanks for the address). It looks yummy!! I will definitely be making this!! Thanks :)

This is not a keto diet. Low carb (around 20 net) moderate protein, and high fat. My percentages are 10-20-70. I've never felt better. Welcome Susan. As other LCHF posters have stated, use the keto and low carb forums. The narrow mindedness in main forums is annoying.

The menu I saw had oreo McFlurry on it - 510 cal, 80 g carb, 17 g fat, 12 g protein. THis was for a 12 oz serving

Please use full fat cheese - they take the fat out, they have to put something else in. This goes for all fat free foods - YUCK!
