Thanks for posting this! I am in the process of boosting my calories up, and I haven't fully adjusted to it yet - less than one week at it. Plus I am still scared :) Examples like this reduce my anxiety about it.

I have to say that "moons over my hammy" put me under the table with a friend one night at Denny's. We were so drunk and that was so funny that we couldn't resist laughing our butts off and slipped under the table. Both of us drunk and giggling, unable to stop. I'm not proud of that moment, but I am not ashamed…

Beautiful day for a race today! Sunny, cool (probably under 60 degrees but not by much) no hills on this one, street race. Started faster than I think I should have, I didn't have much in the tank come the last mile. All in all still pleased with my first 5K in over 20 years. 28:39 I had been training at 10:30 per mile…

I bumped up my calories this week, because I wasn't getting anywhere, so I took a leap of faith that that would shake things up. I was a bit scared…

Great job!!! You did it - with hills!!! :drinker: Good call recognizing that you should relax and not tense up. Nice profile pic too

I am doing one!!!! finished C25K last week and ready to do this thing. It is going to be fun. I am really looking forward to it.

For me it was a good transition food. It was nice to have something "special" for the holiday after I had given up meat, but eventually I decided it wasn't a good fit. The taste was ok, the texture was highly processed. It reminds me of "cafeteria meat." The gravy that came with it was better, but I still prefer to make my…

How about these stats: My pace went from 14:22 on day one intervals to 10:58 for the final day - an unofficial 5K Just stay with it and you will improve!!!

Since you used to run before, you will remember how things used to be. They aren't that way anymore. It may take some getting used to. Don't push yourself the way you used to, at first. Keep in mind the long term goal and be careful not to injure yourself. If you are anything like me this will be super hard. Don't get…

I didn't think that Huxley was a racist or anti-Semite. I thought he was more of a social satirist and pacifist. Not that they are exclusive, but he seems to focus elsewhere.

I wasn't around yesterday so I missed this post!!!! Major Congrats!!!! That is fantastic! I knew you could do it!

I kept up with cycling and running this week, but not committed to watching what I am eating - will have to try a little…

Yeah, I think it is weird that I am not struggling more when my rate is high. I think it is because I have a cardiac arrhythmia so I am accustomed to my heart rate spiking for no particular reason. My body can't seem to distinguish between that and when I acutally give it a reason. :ohwell: They say that it will go…

Thanks everyone! I was thinking that mixing it up might be the way to go. Right now I run 3 days a week, but at the slower pace I don't think it would be difficult to add an additional day or take one day that I push myself to run farther. Thanks again!

Hello! I was evaluated and the store hooked me up with Brooks Addiction. I just bought a new pair, since the previous one worked out so well. Definitely go for a fitting.

Rundouble has a 5K improver program you might want to check out. It is a 14 week program with intervals - similar to their C25K

I mention the length in your profile photo and then you go and change it. ::sigh:: Just to clarify, I vote for shaving.
