Yes! You are a RUNNER! Like others have said, it can become addictive. Just take it slow and easy and listen to your body as you begin to run more and more. Way to go!

Just out of curiosity, I clicked on that ad to see why bananas are bad. Turns out they don't even mention bananas anywhere in the slide show advertising whatever it was they were trying to sell (I don't recall what that was.) I've been eating a banana nearly every day for the past several years. Love 'em.

I can't speak to your joint pain...but here's the marathon training plan I used for my first marathon. Worked like a charm. http://www.halhigdon.com/training/51137/Marathon-Novice-1-Training-Program

I crochet, too. But I don't count it. But like others have said, it keeps me from wondering into the kitchen for a snack. Last night, I was crocheting next to my hubby on the couch. He got up and made some popcorn, came back and started munching, offering me some. I declined because my hands were busy. So, to me, THAT's…

Yeah, I agree with the others who said to switch days. Training programs aren't set in stone. Hop on the elliptical for 30 minutes today, run tomorrow. If you can't run tomorrow, the elliptical will work just fine for that workout, too. There was a time when I would run in any weather...I was outside running one very…

I tend to do that same thing. I just look at stuff like cleaning, etc, as part of daily life and it doesn't occur to me to log that. I did, however, log yesterday's 18 holes of golf even though I didn't look at is as a workout.

Hi...Most novice half marathon plans gradually work up to a final long run of 10 miles or so prior to race day. I don't know what your average pace per mile is, but that 10 miler will take longer than 30 minutes to complete. You can certainly train for a half marathon with 3-4 running days per week, but as the mileage…

Wow...this is amazing information. I clearly need to pay more attention to making sure I eat enough calories, or I'll be setting myself up for failure. Thanks!

Love this thread! I've only just started, but have lost a rack of baby back ribs thus far.

Yep, it's a lifestyle change. Creating good habits that will replace bad habits. I agree with the 'wiggle room' and pre-planning mentioned by dietstokes, too!

I, too, am targeting a wedding for my weight loss. But it's not mine, it's my daughters. We are in planning frenzy right now. Feel free to add me.
